TheLegoDr Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Not to be rude, but are you bad at feeling them or are you trying to get that many of each character? Quote
_epicster_ Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Not to be rude, but are you bad at feeling them or are you trying to get that many of each character? Haha no problem. I haven't collected CMFs since series 3&4, but through feeling those i rarely had duplicates. It's not that i'm bad at feeling, but it's just that i find I'm not patient enough to feel around that much anymore. I've done it with the simpsons, but my strategy has been buying 4-6 each time so that's why I have a lot. Seems like a waste in some cases but these Simpsons are so awesome and useful I don't mind getting duplicates. So no, I wouldn't particularly call myself bad at it. Quote
Amset-Rah Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 I found this series to be the easiest to feel for, if for the heads alone. That and some accessories like Bart's skateboard are obvious, but the tell-tale signs are the heads, especially since most characters have a tile like Grandpa's newspaper or Milhouse's comic. Quote
bachamn Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 meh, feeling up toy packets in the store makes me feel like a weirdo; I've had relatively good luck getting the ones I needed anyway, and just completed a trade with _epicster_ for all but 1 I was missing so it worked out for us both in the end ;) Quote

The funny part is, customers come up to me and ask, "What are you doing...Can you help me find this one?" Quote
Sir Walter Maugham Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 meh, feeling up toy packets in the store makes me feel like a weirdo Haha, boy do I know that feeling. I usually get a few odd looks, but one time in Walmart the employees started hanging around nearby isles looking suspicious of me. It's worth it though, I've been collecting since series 2 and have never misidentified a figure before. Quote
_epicster_ Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 It's fun to get a random character too. That's what the original point was of CMFs I think. Quote
KCMatze Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Bit of both, for kids it is the surprise part, but it has obvious reasons that it's called collectable minifigures ;) So they want you to get all of them, which obviously would be way too expensive with just blind grabbing! Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Do you happen to have a Milhouse? I really need him because he's a Master Builder but when I thought I had him I got Ralph. Quote

CorneliusMurdock Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Trade inquiries should be done in the BSTF, not here. Thank you. Quote
TheRedViper Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 In my local toystore, they have felt out all of the CMF packets beforehand, and ask if you would like a specific figure! Quote
Robianco Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Wow... Those are some horrific moulds there for those bootlegs but I'd say they're old... Even some of the lesser clone brands have moulds identical to the Lego ones now. My 5 yr old loves the CMF line now and has asked for the house! If only I though she's actually play with it rather than trash it I'd be tempted. Quote
tonif430 Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 Hi friends, We have Lisa,Marge,Flanders and Mr. Burns, my daughter loves them!!!! Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 Got Mr. Burns, Milhouse (OMG FINALLY) and Grandpa today at Target. (they finally restocked) I just need 4 more. Quote
Sir Brickalot Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 I only have Homer, Krusty and Abe However, Abe is possibly one of the best figs I have, I love him! Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Yes. You can buy it at Lego stores or S@H. Quote
Lazarus Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Hehe my local Toyworld does the work for you and rights on the packs who is who. So no double ups for me at all. Quote
Gatthekid Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 To be honest, the only characters I want are Apu and Ned... possibly Homer. Sadly, I haven't been to a LEGO store recently, so I haven't been able to feel for them. And I've yet to find any other walmart/target/kmart/etc near me that has them. PS KCMatze, mind if I use your avatar? It's really cool. PSS Tonif430, mind if I use your avatar sometime? Quote
lightningtiger Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 Yes. You can buy it at Lego stores or S@H. Plus Toys-R-Us.......one of my local TRU's has about 4 of them there up high on the top storage shelf.....need a ladder to get them down. Quote
