Zaktan of the Shadows Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 Woah, that hobby Train set is on pre-order already? I hope 2.0 also has peices to make mechs or Bionicles. -ZotS Quote
dr01d3k4 Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 they better get rid of those train parts and replace them with another theme like star wars or Exo-force Quote
Hobbes Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 they better get rid of those train parts and replace them with another theme like star wars or Exo-force Right... Quote
xenologer Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 I really hope that 2.0 fixes those bugs.... Bugs that I know about: 1*1plate with cliplight brick, is Wrong dimensions compared to real one. (the 'ring' portion is too low) 1*4tiles have their 'snap' connections in the wrong location, approximatly 1plate Below the bottom of the brick technic bricks in generally do not snap correctly to anything lastly, it would be nice to have a precision brick placement tool, pageup and pagedown lets you move a brick 1 plate at a time vertically, but some horizontal motion controls would be nice too (sometimes you need more accuracy than your wobbly mouse) Of Course I've emailed them about this stuff... but theres no guarantee anyone listens to just me... Anyone else care to remind them of all the bugs to get before 2.0 gets shoved out the door? Last Chance to get your inputs in, because once that gets released.. they certainly won't update for quite some time. Quote

And now my one is mucking up even more if im on for to long it stalls, the bricks dont move and then the tool bars colapse etc etc. But then I email TLC and they reply: "the lego company is not responsable for any loss, damage and failure of lego digital designer" thats exactly what it says on the LDD page on the lego website. But what I can't understand is why they're not willing too listen. They'll steal ideas off little kids and AFOL's but they're not prepared to repare the program that gives them all of this *n* *n* Oh well i just hope they sort those problems out and we get more: Minifigers Pieces , Boat hulls , Mecha , Bionicle etc And please please sort the problems out TLC !!!!!!!! *y* *y* Quote

dr01d3k4 Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 You are joking, aren't you? what do you mean? it will not let you select a leg or the arms or hands on a mini fig and you also cannot select the top of an aerial Quote
UltraPrime Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 what do you mean?it will not let you select a leg or the arms or hands on a mini fig and you also cannot select the top of an aerial Ah, I'm with you now. The selection is limited, but here's hoping more minifig parts in the future! Quote
dr01d3k4 Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 Ah, I'm with you now. The selection is limited, but here's hoping more minifig parts in the future! hope fully we can create are own battle packs! Darthking623 Posted March 11, 2007 Author Posted March 11, 2007 http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Product.aspx?p=K10183&cn=245 If you look on the link above there is a clue that may sugest that LDD 2.0 might come out on March 19 I say this because it says the instructions for HT will be out on 19 March, and then further down it says that you can only view those instructions on LDD 2.0 so I think LDD 2.0 will be coming out around March 19 Forgive me if im wrong *y* *y* Quote
Optimax X Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 Woah, that hobby Train set is on pre-order already?I hope 2.0 also has peices to make mechs or Bionicles. -ZotS Agreed, i have not got the current version, but i am thinking of downloading it because from what i have heard it is really good. Hobbes Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 from what i have heard it is really good. It's about time it is. I didn't even manage to do a simple task like changing the standard folder for your models. It let me chose a new folder but then omitted the first letter and thus created a new folder cos the one without the first letter didn't exist, of course *wacko* That's really annoying... >:-( Quote
picklesdynasty Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 I personally dont like the LDD. I know it will get better, but compared to MLCAD, it not that good. I think its good for beginners. Mabey I havent used it to its full potential, but it just seems when ever I sit down to build something I find my ideas and imagination contained. :ninja: Quote
xenologer Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 I suppose it depends on what your goal is. I use LDD because it allows me to sort out brick quantities for purchase. I'm not using it to build some amazing technic design or anything that Requires cad assistance. (I'm sure MLCAD is great for planning big stuff like this) For example, sometimes I'll build a set of spaceship thruster sub-assemblies for use on a MOC. Using LDD allows me to limit the parts to those purchasable, and it lets me figure out how many of each I need. Then conviniently order all at once. I probably wouldn't be using MLCAD myself, because I like to ultimately build(in real bricks) the things that I design. LDD avoids this issue by letting me purchase. Now, if someone makes a plugin for MLCAD, that allows it to communicate with the LDD server so it can download the right brick pallets and place orders thru S@H, then we can talk... Yeah I know theres bricklink, but the Convenience of a single order is just great... Ya know what I'd like to seein LDD2.0? (aside from the bugs I mentioend above) How about a display of brick cost as you build? Then when I have a design quandry I can let piece cost decide which way to go...('shall I use this 12*2plate, or two 6*2s?...') Quote
Darthking623 Posted March 16, 2007 Author Posted March 16, 2007 Well LDD 2.0 looks really good ,the pictures of the program are on the hobby train review on brickset *y* *y* Quote
Darthking623 Posted March 19, 2007 Author Posted March 19, 2007 Looks like the lego factory website is getting apdated is this the new LDD (lets hope) *y* *y* Quote
Holodoc Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 Looks like the lego factory website is getting apdated is this the new LDD (lets hope) *y* *y* This is what you can currently read if you browse to ldd.lego.com "The LEGO Digital Designer website is down for maintenance The website will back online Wednesday at approximately 6:00 PM CET." So I would assume we are going to get LDD 2.0 on wednesday! *sweet* Quote
Ickelpete Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 I looked at the hobby train on S@H today and noticed that the date for the instructions has changed from the 19 March to 23 March maybe they still have some problems with it lets hope everthing is sorted by the 23rd Quote
