Posted August 5, 201311 yr I got an Amazon gift card for my birthday about a month ago and I've thinking of what to get with the money and I've decided that I want to buy the DeLorean. (I don't buy very much Lego these days) I know that it is only $35 on lego.com but right now on Amazon the cheapest is $55 from a 3rd party seller which is too much for me because the giftcard is only $25 and I wouldn't be willing to pay $55 for it. Will it go down in price eventually or will there be a first party seller on Amazon selling it in the future? Thanks.
August 5, 201311 yr I would wait. Right now, LEGO Exclusives like the Haunted House and Arkham Asylum are available from amazon itself at MSRP. So I'm thinking eventually the BttF set will be too
August 5, 201311 yr Looks like you're a little too late. There was a first party seller on Amazon about two hours ago. I'd say just keep your eye on it until it's available at MSRP again.
August 5, 201311 yr Wait.......I imagine that Amazon itself will have it in the not too distant future. O course, at my age, I've had a lot of practice at waiting. It may be a little more difficult for you. I hope you get it very soon and at a fair price. :-)
August 5, 201311 yr The very first morning it was on it there was one for MSRP, so I had assumed that they sold out. It was also sold out by the end of the first day on Lego, and Target and Toys R Us Canada listed it as unavailable. But now that lego has it back on their page, I assume the stock is back to normal, and it will be popping up for MSRP soon. For a little while though, the rush to get it will mean it sells out super fast. But assuming its as popular as Minecraft and they make more beyond the original production run, it eventually will probably be stable and stay at MSRP. All these 3rd party sellers are just trying to mooch off of that "I have to have it " feeling and hoping to get someone willing to pay. Good luck on getting it. I;m waiting too!
August 6, 201311 yr Be patient; just like the Minecraft set, Lego will eventually produce more in order to fill demand.
August 13, 201311 yr Author So it has been a week and I've been checking Amazon multiple times per day. Does anyone know how much longer until it will be available for only $35?
August 13, 201311 yr Unless someone here works for Amazon or has a crystal ball, then no. Just be patient; if you're dead-set on buying from Amazon, it will come back in stock eventually.
August 13, 201311 yr Basically, what everyone else has said. No one knows the exact times when something gets put on a sale price or MSRP. The only assumption is it will be at regular retail price again soon. Patience will be the key here. Otherwise, buy from LEGO and use the Amazon giftcard for something else you want.
