gedren_y Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 Varylio is part of the Black Spire forces attacking Nocty no? I was under the impression that those were rouge Varlyrian forces, not backed by the Varlyrio government. Quote
ZCerberus Posted October 4, 2013 Author Posted October 4, 2013 All the rumors are awesome! I guess we'll have to see. Quote
PenPlays Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 Recently I've only been checking the respective Guild threads only (so little time ) and was surprised by the lack of new MOCs. Today I happened to scroll down and realized that it was just my ignorance of the unpinned topics (and what a mistake that was!). Although this may be just me, I realized that there has been very little MOC promotion in the Guild threads as well, and I think that may have also added to the fact that I missed so much. Back in Book 1, when a MOC was promoted with a picture it immediately got my attention. I guess what I'm trying to get to is this: It would be wonderful if all of our builders would provide a link to their MOC in their respective Guild threads to gather the attention of those that only have time to take a quick look at the GoH subforum. I know I'm not the only one who would greatly benefit from this, so lets do our best to encourage our fellow builders to promote their builds. Quote
Gideon Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 I agree with Penkid11 that it is best if all MOCs are put with picture and link in the guild threads. I always start browsing GoH by reading my unread posts in the guild threads, and if I'm busy MOCs without links sometime takes me days to discover. It also helps a lot for someone new catching up if there are links and thumbnails in themain threads. When I read up on the first year and a half of GoH prior to joining, it was by reading the guild threads and then the MOCs which were linked from there were easy to find in the right order Quote
soccerkid6 Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Concerning the new Free Build Registration topic: should we add all our freebuilds since the beginning of Chapter II, or just every free build from now on? Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Concerning the new Free Build Registration topic: should we add all our freebuilds since the beginning of Chapter II, or just every free build from now on? Looking at the dates, it's everything we've posted since September the 1st. Quote
SkaForHire Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Please post all Free Builds in the thread. If you are listing multiple free builds from the past few months, then it is OK to list them in one post, as long as all the information is there. PenPlays Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 (edited) Another question about the Freebuild thread. What is the deadline for? Edited November 4, 2013 by Penkid11 Quote
SkaForHire Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Another question about the Freebuild thread. What is the deadline for? I just broke it up into 4 grading periods, that would be quarter 1 (my own estimate of when 1/4th of the second book is over) That way we are not sitting there at the end and grading them all. That is the deadline to get it in for the first grading quarter. Quote
Kai NRG Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 If builds are separated by comments we're not supposed to edit our posts to add more? In other words we don't have to/shouldn't put all our builds in one comment? Quote
SkaForHire Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 No you don't have to put them all in one comment, but you can do that if you prefer. We will close this period at the deadline and open up a new thread for the next period. Quote
Gideon Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Will the scores after the first quarter be summed up and disclosed? Quote
robuko Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 I have a question on the challenge. How does the scoring system work? For each of the 3 challenges, is it about the single best entry, the average standard, or the average standard of the top n entries? Or something else even more devious? Thanks Quote
Cara Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 Is there a single thread that has all the Nocturnus tribes submissions shown in it, or is it a matter of searching for each individual thread? My search foo is never strong, especially with the annoying flood control. Quote
ZCerberus Posted November 10, 2013 Author Posted November 10, 2013 The tribes are all listed in the second post of the Nocturnus thread. You, of course, a free to create your own tribe to recruit! I have a question on the challenge. How does the scoring system work? For each of the 3 challenges, is it about the single best entry, the average standard, or the average standard of the top n entries? Or something else even more devious? Thanks The core leaders whose home guild is not Nocturnus will each declare (in a published opinion so you can know exactly what they considered) the side they believe had the strongest entries overall for each category. soccerkid6 Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 I just ordered from the Bricklink Store "In Pieces," the owner loves seeing the Guilds' MOCs and so gave me free shipping and said he'd be happy to do the same for anyone else from the Guilds (for orders over 15$). He has quite a few useful castle parts, good prices, and excellent service. Here's a link to the store: In Pieces Quote

I'd happily order for much more than $15 if I could get US BL prices without excessive shipment costs Quote

Sounds very good, I'll check that store soon! (Even though my wife thinks I've overextended my brick budget a bit now with a few hundreds of € in BL orders the last 6 months on top of ordering a bit of LotR including Orthanc ) Quote
kabel Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Talked to my Dealer yesterday and found out that he's got ten metric tons of bricks in store maybe i can get a bl deal for the European goh members Quote
