Legonardo Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 HOLY CARPFISH 10 metric tonnes is insane! where does he keep it all? New Zealand finally made the LUGBULK program requirements!not sure how the rest of teh world has it but the max you can buy for us is pretty small, about 250USD Quote
Gideon Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 (edited) New Zealand finally made the LUGBULK program requirements!not sure how the rest of teh world has it but the max you can buy for us is pretty small, about 250USD I hope that's per LUG member at least? I also think everyone who participates has to be 18 years old, at least that's how it is here in Europe. Anyway, I've learnt that the LUGBULK program is not good for getting decent amounts of "basic" parts for a great price, the best thing is that some parts in production which are expensive on BL can be ordered much cheaper that way (like dark red leaves last year ) Edited November 21, 2013 by Gideon Quote
synbiote Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 it's 250€ a participating member for us EU'ers.. then again..i had a hard time reaching that amount last year :). Quote
Gideon Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 Reaching the amount is no issue, deciding how to use it best is the challenge Quote
Legonardo Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 ok, 16 is the minimum age, so im not making the cut, lucky my parents are older than 16 Quote
Tomsche Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 I can relate! I was terrible when I joined, but everyone here is so helpful and encouraging with actual feedback, that I was able to work enough so that now I am only a little terrible But, this community really is great for helping to improve skills, both in building and photography. The warning is that in 2 months, you will be broke. It can't be helped, it's just too addicting and gets us all. Indeed; for some reason of obscurity, I ordered 70 SW droid arms just today on BL. 20 that I need, and 50 'just in case' Quote
Rogue Angel Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 LUGBulk is a great way to get plant pieces, and newly released parts. I too have no problem hitting my limit. Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 My local toy store is having a combined Castle and pirate (the guy who runs it is a pirate nut) display for its late night shopping (I don't know how big a thing that is outside of the uk, basically shops stay open late one night of the year) window, to entice kids to come buy stuff, despite there being no pirate theme running at the moment. Anyway, one of the guys doing a module realised he'd over committed, so I've stepped in at the last moment, and built a module representing GoH. I'll try and get someone to take pictures, I'm working though so I might not. I've represented all four main guilds, with a slight Nocty bias! Quote

Always good to see a nice pirate display ;-) Quote
kabel Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 (edited) Am I the only one who feels like the morale in this forum is kinda down these days? A lot of the veterans are missing from the scene and many mocs go uncommented. Everybody tired of GoH? Edited December 1, 2013 by kabel Quote

A lot of the veterans are missing from the scene and many mocs go uncommented. Everybody tired of GoH? No, it is just the transition between the normal days to the holydays, I guess the majority is passing more time with their families, friends, less on the web, give a couple of days and people shall return with renewed strenght. A lot of the veterans are missing from the scene and many mocs go uncommented. Everybody tired of GoH? I was busy with sorting . I found some great sets for great prices, so I couldn't resist... The best deal I got was 7094 and 7573 together for 80 bucks . Until now, I didn't even had time to start my challenge 1 entry/entries... Quote

HammerBro Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 I've been spending time working on builds, not so much on GoH. I haven't put out a MOC in a while, so I'm trying to get one done and done well. Quote
Kayne Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Plus with CCCXI going on, there is a lot of time juggling going on to build for both contests Quote
ZCerberus Posted December 2, 2013 Author Posted December 2, 2013 Yes there is! I hope people realize they can enter CCCXI entries here as well! Quote
Gideon Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 I've not had much brick time at all lately, and the little time I've had I have put into the builds i just posted. I'm going to try to catch up on all the recent builds the coming days. Quote
Alfadas Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 What did I miss? What is that CCCXI challenge? Quote
de Gothia Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Am I the only one who feels like the morale in this forum is kinda down these days? A lot of the veterans are missing from the scene and many mocs go uncommented. Everybody tired of GoH? I was one day from posting my latest moc which shows de Gothia and his family leaving Historica. Some really stupid comments in my latest moc made me fed up with all of EB and it´s tags. But a true friend talked me back so here I´m again ready to build, comment and be active like nothing ever happen. Now I need to start building for the challenge. Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Aye it is great to see ya back DG! What did I miss? What is that CCCXI challenge? Colossal Castle Contest on Classic Castle (I think). Quote
de Gothia Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Thanks guys! And yes, CCC is the big contest over on Classic-castle Quote
kabel Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 good to hear that you didn't quit after all DG! So how's that castle of yours coming along? Quote
de Gothia Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 (edited) The castle was nearly done. But I needed the parts to my "final moc" so I started to take it apart... Didn´t think I would use the castle. But I will see if I rebuild it somehow. One module is still intact. But I think I will build castles more like SK from now on. So many bricks to buy otherwise!! And the final scene has a ship as well Kabel! A lot of inspirations from your ships! I will post it as a freebuild soon! Edited December 2, 2013 by de Gothia Quote
