hench Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 (edited) Yes, it's true that pirates are filth of the universe, they have no manners, they would sell their mothers for coins, they would kill you without thinking, but, if you're good with them, if you give them what they want, they are great guys. They're my good friends. I give them weapons, jet-packs and other stuff and they give me money. But sometimes, they take me to their village, where I get some entertaiment . Inside of the ship: How to get in? Step 1: Step 2: Step 3: I'd be happy to see any comments, critics and questions. And please, score it. Edited August 12, 2013 by hench Quote
MstrOfPppts Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Interesting ship. It'd be great to see it from the top - does it have an interior? Also I'd turn around the engine hatch, so that the good looking side is seen when it's closed instead of the bottom of the plates. And the ladder is a bit missplaced. It should reach the top or there's some kind of doors missing ... Quote
hench Posted August 11, 2013 Author Posted August 11, 2013 (edited) Thanks for advices, MstrOfPppts Edited August 11, 2013 by hench Quote
MKJoshA Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 I like the idea you have behind the ladder and needing to wait for it to raise before using it to get up higher. Feels very old and out-of-date, just like a pirate would use. More pictures from different angles would help. It's hard to tell what kind of speeder it is and how the seating works. A front view would also be good. I do like you minifig. Nice use of the Superman pieces. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Not bad; you did capture a pirate-y feel in the craft, and while there're a lot of suitable existing canon designs, at the same time, it's not surprising to see a pirate using a ship different from everything else. I would suggest some more greebling or something to cover up the big area of flat grey studs above the engines, and try to flesh out the walls a little more to cover up or smooth out the exposed anti studs inside the vehicle. (Not that thin walls are implausible; the exposed plate bottoms just don't look that good, and seem like wasted space where you could add more detailing: consoles, pipes, wiring, gun mounts...) I think that would really help give the MOC a more finished look. And the photos are a little distracting in their brightness and graininess. I think you might be taking them under dim lighting and then brightening them too much and/or using a camera like a phone or a smaller point-and-shoot that has a small image sensor. Either way, try to increase the amount of lighting you have on the subject when taking the picture, and remember to adjust the contrast and saturation in addition to the brightness when editing, and that should be fixed. Brickdoctor Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Much better. Maybe also try tiling over the entire inside to match the tiled steps, and some greebling next to the turret wouldn't be a bad thing. Quote
