Finally pictures!!!

Thank you very much for the pictures and links! :classic:

Apart from the car transporter I really like all the vehicles. Which I hate at the car transporter is that 1. the hanger has only one axle and that 2. the upper decks can't be moved to the floor that the cars can drive from the base to the top. The most I like the camper (huge, but sure with a nice interior, I hope), the airport fire truck (huge but great design) and the wood transpoter (cool that it comes with a crane).

I've got mixed feelings about the police sets. For judging the quality of the police station more pics are missing. The other sets are mixed. The boat transporter set is ugly and the police helicopter, too (both because of oversized vehicles). But I really like that two small run-down buildings, the police car with the robbers on motorcycles and the prison transporter.

As for summer: I bet that we'll get a cargo train, a passenger train, a level crossing and a small train stop. What the exclusive City set in spring (like the Garage and the City Place) will be, is really hard to say - I hope either for a big train station, a cargo center or a mall (although I fear that the last one will more be released in the Friends theme). What do you think?

An office building, apartment complex, car showrrom, or as you said a mall. Although with all these emergency sets it seems they won't be doing sets that are actually useful for a city.

We'll find out in February what the mid-year big set will be, as 2012 saw the parking garage and this year town square made it's first appearance.

The great vehicles series must have taken off like no other, as we have so many new vehicles in 2014......though mid-year......again February should tell.

Are there any new finalized pictures? :)

Not yet. I'm sure they'll come soon!

The last few year's Winter waves have shown up in stores during Black Friday, so in just a few weeks we won't even need pictures! Although I've seen most of the pics out there, seeing the actual sets in stores will be great- I think I like not seeing so many pics before a set is released. The last time that happened for me was 2000's winter wave for Star Wars.

I am very much looking forward to the Auto Transport and Repair Truck. I like the Logging Truck as well, but I'm not sure I'll have the space. My forest section is not very big, and pretty full.

I have bought every police station produced since 1978 with the exception of Town Jr. and the World City one, so I'm sure I'll be picking up the 2014 version. So far it looks pretty good. I will be sad to retire the 2011 one as it's my favorite CITY Police Station.

That part on top for the upper deck appears to be this.....

Normally a ladder would slide along this and this bas acts as a base fixed to studs....so I high doubt it will slide itself.

Actually in the final image they are grey ladders rather than this piece. Although one could use this piece to make the platform slide out? Or another type of piece perhaps?

Not with this piece. It locks the ladder quite well, something I found out this week while experimenting with a mod of one of my fire-sets.

Looking more closely at the car carrier, they are ladders which begs the question....could the designer include a sliding feature for loading ?

Though notice the forward uprights are one stud back as compared with the top mounting.....hence it would tilt back at an angle to act as a loading ramp.

I guess close enough to the real world kind as price point will allow.

Am I wrong in thinking that City (and Friends/Creator, which seem a little separate in my mind) is the only theme we've heard about for 2014 with no TV/movie tie-in?

Sadly yes.

I'm hoping for some Castle / Space sets in the summer, but not holding my breathe at this point.

Hmm, it just has a badge on his cap.....appears that there is no other markings on it.......the new regular foot patrol officer as compared to an elite police officer....they can afford the more expensive donuts !

Hmm, this new badge kinda reminds me of these badges:http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/police

EDIT:link didn't work,the badge is the 1990's badge style.

The badges on the new police figs (and on vehicles that bear their logo) are the same style as the 2012 Forest Police and 2013 Elite Police. I gotta admit, I still kind of miss the badges from the 2004-2011 sets, which had an eight-pointed star with four studs in the middle instead of a five-pointed star with no studs. But at least the badges have remained consistent these past few years.

Don't forget Technic :)

And Juniors :)

Yes :) I just mean there's a real lack of an adventure theme or any classic themes. Sets that don't require a TV show to make sense. City is kind of the main attraction.

I like the new Police design, I think it is a fresh breath of life to the Police sign. The Caps are nice, and the Torsos are gorgeous, but I cannot help but feel that the Legs are a little bit lacking, and would perhaps look better with printing. Still, a nice new addition to the city line! I too would like either some new Space sets, or a Petrol Station as these are themes which have not been predominant in the line for quite some time. I would also like perhaps a Supermarket within the Police Line, i.e. a Policeman chasing a Robber out of the Supermarket as the Robber has busted up the till.

That would be a wonderful idea. That would be a great parts pack for the food pieces. Anyways, I like these police officers they look more city-like.

A convenience store hold up. Perfect idea! We get an updated gas station, some great food pieces, and the kids can get the action packed police and robbers  The LEGO group gets to sell the set to AFOLs and KFOLs alike :classic:

Awesome. Great find. Finally some decent pics. The airport firetruck must be a target or TRU exclusive?

All I'm looking forward to is the new train windows .. sigh .. what a rehash :sceptic: Young boys must be the most narrowminded creatures on earth (<-- according to TLG that is, real life says something different) and girls seem to much more clever (again accor .. Hello honey you're home? I'm just typing away on EB, honestly not saying things you woul ... SLAM DUNK!)

Ok, off to bed!
