I really like that camper van. It may be similar to the last one but I missed the last one.

That's still available over here. At least, I saw it in a store saturday.

There are a lot of similarities, indeed, but also subtle differences. The cab has got mirrors, for example, and the end of the trailer is also different. But I also think 60049 could be a special, largely based on 60027. Won't be getting it, unless there's a great deal on it (I got a LEGO set for free this year which I would never have bought myself).

Wow next years line up looks really good, especially the more unusual transport stuff like the Camper Van, Transporter, the race car etc..

60049 is almost identical to 60027, except for colour and different cargo (helicopter, racecar and motorcycle) instead of monster truck.

Now with that cab style, we have had a TRU truck, a LEGO truck, yes, the monster truck transporter and of course now coming.....a police copter carrier......the last similar copter transporter in 2009 had a different front end on the prime mover.

With regards to the police station after taking a look at the back of the station I see no stairs. So how are the minifigures suppose to get to the second floor of the station or even take the prisoner to the very top cell. If the prison door is open there is nothing but a 3 story drop to the ground. This is what turns me off the most about this set.

Classic town sets rarely if ever had stairs, we're becoming too picky these days ;)

Bol.com has the pictures up also: http://www.bol.com/n...tml?limit=10631

I'm gathering the official announcement isn't far away anymore.

Don't take too much notice of the prices, Bol usually is a bit on the expensive side...

By the way: the workings of the cartransporter are now revealed (and don't really surprise me):

And as someone already suggested the there are hatches on the sides of the firetruck/crashtender:

The lighting truck is quite a simple affair, but I like it's simplicity:

Many thanks for posting these pics and link to the others. The lego box designers really know how to make these sets appealing with the images they have on the rear of the boxes. I wonder how often the crane on the logging truck with come off its mounting, but I still like it and kind of thought that's about the only way the Car transporter could operate to get cars on the upper level. Thanks again

Ha ha, love the guy planting trees on the truck box. 'Logging' came up here a few years ago as a theme idea. Some EB members thought Lego wouldn't want to be associated with possible negative perceptions around logging (despite that they have Octan everywhere, and that logging isn't always environmentally bad) :classic:

Looks like Lego have decided to promote sustainable forestry

Nostalgia is lame, but I wish the airport truck had light and sound. I loved light and sound as a kid. I think my kids would love it too. With modern LED components light and sound could run from a single AAA battery (not the expensive mini-cells used in the Duplo light and sound brick), and fit easily in City vehicles.

Thanks for the new pictures! I love the fact that TLG shows the new trees being planted by the logging truck. A nice nod to the environment! All of the vehicles look very impressive lined up- much better than just showing the box art.

And yes, real lights on the fire truck would be so welcome. I think that feature will show up as a standard in vehicles in the future.

+1 to having light and sound again. Plenty of sets in recent years have had sound bricks (Alien Conquest UFO had a "alien noise" brick, one of the Creator houses had a "doorbell + dog bark" brick, the Grand Carousel had a brick and there was a Creator set with a motorcycle engine sound brick, among others) and light bricks so producing something the right size for city vehicles that contained a battery, some LEDs, a tiny flasher circuit and a tiny siren noise generator should be possible and would make the larger city sets even more desirable to LEGO fans of all ages (its clear that any such new electric part would appear only in the larger sets in the line)
