Half of the Sets are to big in size. Yeah it may be easier for children to play with them, rolling them over the floor, but even they have problems whith cars that dont fit the size(I had them, when they changed from 4-wide to 6-wide). And since there is no reason to change it again, oversized vehicles should be really limited to some Sets, if otherwise it would look stupid or need it for its playabillity.

BTW: I hope we get the uninational firemen and ploice officers back, the ones we have now are just too American.

I wonder with all these police sets if they are tied into the Lego City Undercover video game or not ? :look:

No, those are the Elite Police from earlier this year.

Thank you very much for the additional pictures! :classic:

After a closer look I have to say that - except the Helicopter Surveillance, the Police Dog Unit and the High Speed Police Chase - the majority of the Police sets are very lame and too <insert that tiresome argument>! The last police waves were much better because there the sets imo attracted the interest of kids as well as adults.

In contrast I really like all of the cars of the Vehicles subtheme! I'm a very disappointed that the SUV has no boot lit. :cry_sad: Therefore I'm surprised and lucky to see that the car transporter can lift the upper floor up and down to that the cars can get up and down (although it could have been done better).

I'm really excited for whether we'll get only Trains sets in summer or even one or two regular sets for City, too. Normally we should get a list of sets soon. But since everything seems to be a lot later than in the previous years, I fear that we still have to have a lot of patience.

My view on new city models:

60041:

the motorcycle too simply.. we saw this bike in 2005:

7235-1-1.jpg

60042:

the patrol car looks nice,

the patrol car looks almost similar to the patrol car from 4436, except for the new front.

in fact all the set is reminiscent of the 4436:

LEGO-City-4436-Macchina-della-polizia.jpg

60043:

i love the truck!!!!

looks like navistar armor truck!

used_armored_truck_1280x960-053208-m.jpg

and i loved the ball chain on the foot of the criminal!!!!

60044:

the truck looks like the volvo FH! its nice...

but the trailer i did not really like...

the police semi-truck thet i really loved its the truck from 2003:

she looks perfect! so real truck (im talking about the 7034):

60045:

wow! if the world saw a few days ago the new Chevy Colorado, Lego already made a police model of this pickup! LIKE!!!

Top-Speed-Chevrolet-Colorado.jpg

the criminal boat looks like a military boat. its nice! the police boat look's like a real patrol boat, but i did not like the colors,

i was doing the colors totally different, white becomes black, blue becomes white, and the yellow i would like to to turn brown...

60046:

shoot me right? but I do not understand why a police force needs a Cargo Helicopter like th CH-53:

ch-53e-dvic302.jpg

other than that I liked the warehouses!!!, Only one thing I did not understand what should be similar to this truck?

60047:

Come on! thr new police station looks like a Chinese imitation of lego!

60053:

Holy Moses! she just looks like mclaren F1!!!

F1-GTR.jpg

60056:

its a beautiful international tow truck! looks like real!

60057:

the camper its nice

60058:

the suv looks like the old range rover - nice!

At Lego shop at home, the website has the calendar for January and shows that you can get a police atv for free with purchases over $50.

It also shows the promotion for the Lego movie which are posters.

There is also a better photo of 60048

I picked up the Auto Transporter this weekend, and I must say it's one of my favorites this wave. The two cars included are a bit different from the one in the Flatbed Truck, which fits nicely on the Transporter. It was fun building the cars side by side- I just used the same piece in different colors for each step. The truck itself is big, but not too big- I was nervous back in August that it might be an 8-wide. Anyone here that has a highway in their layout would do well to grab this set!

Can't say any of the new sets interest me, apart from the camper and maybe the logging truck. Otherwise the sets are nice, it's great to see the designers adding fires to put out and hideouts for crooks. Though as much as I like to see this kind of improvement, I can't help wondering whether the previous non-inclusion of fires and hideouts, with the implication that the builders should build these elements themselves, wasn't more in the spirit of LEGO.

You never ever want to encourage a small male child to "build the fire themselves". Trust me on this. They are prone to be quite inventive and astonishing authentic in their approach.

 Point taken. I actually started to wonder if something like this actually happened and whether this was TLG's line of reasoning...

Built the 60055 lime green Monster Truck, and luckily only paid $6 for it with the BOGO. Man, what a small set-- I've built poly bags that feel more substantial. It's not a bad model, and my primary reason for choosing it so early was that sharp lime green racing torso-- but that MSRP $10USD price point is set grossly too high.

Happened to me! I built a 'campfire' for my Belleville (yes, really) figures as I had the horse and tent set (5854, the internet tells me) out of unlit matchsticks in the proper, tee-pee style shape. Left it outside in the sun... came back to a melted mess. Sigh.

Hi,

Design of the new Race Car 60053 is clean and efficient. I want it!!! :sweet:

race_2014_-_small.png

the gray version is a MOD

If I find the official LEGO instructions, I could share the LDD file on "Official LEGO Sets made in LDD" topic!

So if one of you have them...

Thank you!

All the great vehicles sets available in TRU in Times Square, although I always was led to believe the USA got it's lego cheaper than us Brits, but I think the balance in fx is being leveled slowly.

The new sets are slowly trickling into Dutch shops too, I noticed this morning. Sadly only some police sets, specifically those that I am not interested in...

Edit: ah, well. Picked up 60043, which will provide quite a few parts I wanted for a possible mod. Built it and it absolutely no keeper. The interior is a mess, especially the prisoner compartment which has no level floor to speak of and is open at the wheelarches (from under). The door at the back is simply too big. I like the front, which would make a nice basis for a security van, but I'm going to use the parts of this box for another mod of a more "sound" pursuasion.

A quick pic to demonstrate the "openess" of the prisoner compartment floor:

*sigh* MORE police? Yawn. They really need some more ideas. They could ask me to do it. A nice job. Thinking of things they can't. Yes...

Umm, anyways, I love the car transporter and logging truck!

Yes, because city life belongs now to Friends.

Something smells rotten in Denmark when the majority of citizen are robbers.

Ok, the majority of citizens are Robbers and Pyromaniacs. Due to it, every year the city needs more police and fire fighters.

We need more sets like Town Square (but if it could be possible, better arround the $50 than arround the $100). I don't know why Cussoo rejected the little shops proposal.

If we want to add city life to our city we have to buy Friends sets (sometimes to much pink) or spend a lot of money into modulars.

Earlier today I counted my "robbers" (you know, the guys with the handily recognizable striped sweaters) and came to the alarming conclusion that they comprise about 15-20% of my city's occupants. I even have more robbers than policemen. Maybe the Fire Department can chip in, I've got a lot of them too...
