lightningtiger Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 What? -Sci See there is only a red and green light plus the position of the street light too. Yep, for a zebra crossing. Quote
just2good Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 As much as I appreciate these pictures and whoever took them, could they not have taken pictures of the entire page instead of fragmented looks at each set? They didn't want to include the watermark. Oh, I never expressed my thoughts on these prelims. Arctic is eh, but I love the dogsled. I like the Passenger Train, as it's like the 2006 one that I missed out on. Quote

lightningtiger Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 I don't understand how it only having red & green lights makes it a zebra crossing. Simple...... A normal traffic light has amber in the middle of the red and green lights, so this one must be a crosswalk Quote
tomdobs55 Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 (edited) Simple...... *snip* A normal traffic light has amber in the middle of the red and green lights, so this one must be a crosswalk so it's a walk signal? And all this time I thought you were talking about zebras as in the African horse type creature. Edited January 12, 2014 by tomdobs55 Quote

ritzcrackerman Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 I know this is the City thread, but Duplo-ized Batman and Joker are really bizarre. Quote
Faefrost Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Zebra crossing is what it's called in the U.K. and we in Oz just call it a crossing. In the US they also use just red and green to control traffic flow onto highway entrance ramps. You stop at the beginning of the ramp until it says go. They put a few seconds between each car to allow for safer highway merging. And they are often found attached to overhead lighting. Quote
jfbat Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 For the people who use a Apple computer. You can open the link of the pictures (from Darth Punk) with Firefox instead of Safari. Works fine on Safari for me... Quote
Roebuck Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 They did. There is a Kingdoms set with a sheep or a goat. Indeed there is one with a goat but I don't know of one with a sheep. It is one set with two nice goats (7189 Mill Village Raid), but we unfortunately have not gotten any usable sheep mould yet. We got one lamb with the friends line now, but that are as useless as the duplo sheep The huskies look great. LEGO is really getting the most out of the dog mold. It is definitely a new dog mould! It is the 4th dog breed and 3rd mould in a very short time It is actually possible they will realise my favourite; the Dachshund in a couple of years if they keep up the good work I agree the huskies look great even if they just are prelims and they where a very pleasant surprise The polar bear is also great, but I was expecting it sooner or later ever since we got the brown bear. We also have a nice polar bear from back in the days, so I would have preferred a new animal instead. Correct. Texas Longhorn. I really hope you are right! I usually do not buy the non exclusive train sets, but if the train wagons are full with cows, then I most likely will buy it Do you know how many cows the set will have? Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 If my memory serves me correct there was a rumour about two years ago about new dog moulds.....actually I think it was a set of dogs. Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Kind of disappointed they went ORANGE AND BLUE for the Arctic color scheme. Heck, we just had the same for Coast Guard (although it's dominant hue was primarily white, while Arctic seems to focus on orange molds). Still very excited about this one-- loving the look of that Mobile Outpost. Quote

And I'm a space freak. Also not a fan of the orange Galaxy Squad sets. It's just not a heroic color. Quote

Plus aren't a lot of the US Antarctic missions operated by NOAA? Which at least used to be a civilian and scientific offshoot of the US Coast Guard? And often used a similar or reversed color scheme? Oh and looking at the catalog pages that have snuck out online, The bike shop looks pretty close to what we expected. A small building that seems to fall between the Creator and Modular style of detail. A 16 wide Modular type building. Mainly Yellow, white and blue trim. The two train sets look amazing. The freight looks suspiciously like a North American EMD GP unit or some sort. The Arctic stuff looks great with the high points by far being the dog sled and new polar bear. Quote

Well, in my experience with contemporary Arctic expeditionary pursuits, I... Oh, wait-- I have none. So I'll take your word for it. And don't get me wrong-- I'm still super-excited about this theme! lightningtiger Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 If you Goggle Image search "Arctic Expedition Vehicles", you'll find a lot of orange machinery - orange is easier to see against snow. No one has considered this yet, but it's a great tie in for the winter village theme every Christmas.......in search of Santa ? Quote
Heppeng Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Simple...... A normal traffic light has amber in the middle of the red and green lights, so this one must be a crosswalk Ironically a Zebra crossing does not have red/green either, just a flashing yellow beacon as here: Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 True, very true.....forgive an Aussie, we know more about cricket than zebra crossings. Only a few more days before the London Toy Fair starts.....so fingers crossed we get more pictures of this years sets. Quote
CityBuilder Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Still missing 4 product numbers, I hope we get to see what these are soon. (Hoping for a set similar to town square!) Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Still missing 4 product numbers, I hope we get to see what these are soon. (Hoping for a set similar to town square!) Ah, usually at least one or two sets appear at Legoworld Copenhagen in February like town square did last year, the year before garage and 3677 train before that. Quote
elleana Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Couple of set numbers have showed up for trains but no other details / pictures. Hoping for more information so I can decide between them and the currently available train sets. Quote
