Sarah Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 I like that Arctic blister pack... at $14.99 it's pricey for two minifigs and probably could have used a couple of sled dogs but it's still by far the cheapest way to get the female arctic figure. Aren't those dogs in the box? Quote
cgarison Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 Aren't those dogs in the box? I think those are fish. If they were the huskies, I would have that pack. Quote
escortmad79 Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 Aren't those dogs in the box? 2 fish in the crate, no dogs Quote
Bacon Potatoes Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Just got the icebreaker today, I can definitely say that for a fan of the arctic theme, $130 is well worth it. Really like the small tracked vehicle that comes with it. Quote
tonif430 Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 The only problem for the Artic line is that you need a lot of space!!!! Quote
TheLazyChicken Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 I am really liking these new sets and might get the Icebreaker in October when they have double VIP points. Quote
Colossus Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 (edited) The Arctic sets look great, but I just don't have the funds. Besides, I don't think I could resist the urge to MOC it into the Antarctic U.S outpost in John Carpenter's remake of The Thing. That movie scared the bejeezus out of me when I was a kid. Brick built space aliens can be a real challenge. Edited August 20, 2014 by Colossus Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 I've picked up & built all of the Arctic heme minus the Icebreaker (for now, at least), and I can honestly say I'm quite pleased with these sets. You really get the feeling it's a big expedition team who's setting up base camp for a long-term operation. I can see kids having great play value with them as well, even without any sort of antagonist faction involved. If I could change anything, I just wish there were more head prints. Almost all of these Arctic adventurers are either wearing orange goggles, green goggles, or are women wearing orange goggles. I just wish there was more variety-- typically I'd just swap the repetitive heads out and disperse them among the other factions in my City collection, but the goggle prints really limit their usefulness. But otherwise Arctic has been a convincing WIN for me. Quote
paul_delahaye Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 (edited) At least we know how the UK City Polybags will be available this year, looks like some great little sets. Daily Mail Promo - 20th - 27th September Thanks to Brickfanatics http://brickfanatics...eturns-in-sept/ Especially useful for those trying to 100% compete their arctic collection, the mini scout plane is included. Only Sinner Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Wow, $130 for the boat? Good thing I don't really care about completing the arctic theme then! Quote
Artifex Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Found a new Lego Arctic theme blister pack yesterday at my local Lego Store. I picked a couple up and it's a neat little set. I am currently working on getting it added to BrickLink and this afternoon had it added to BrickSet. I was wondering if anyone else out there has found this set or not. I did a quick review of it on YouTube, channel name is childishrevolt88. The set number is 850932 and the item number is 6077712. Please let me know of anyone else has come across this set. Thanks! What an awesome set!!! Quote
escortmad79 Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 My wife bought me the 60034 Arctic Helicrane during the week & can't believe how massive the helicopter is!! It's over 40 studs long! Quote
LoneBrickerSG Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 (edited) Hello. I normally only post in the trains section, but my question here is specific to the City trucks. I want to build some autorack train cars, and I am interested in 60060 to go along with them. First of all, do we know how long 60060 will still be available? It's been out for a while longer than 60051 and 60052 so I don't feel that I can rely on number sequence to know when it will be retired. Also, I want to start scaling up all my small vehicles to six-stud wide designs. Can this truck be modified with relative ease to fit the wider cars in it, or would I have to completely re-design the entire truck from the ground up? Edited February 8, 2015 by LoneBrickerSG Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Well, the car carrier is still in the current catalogue.....plus the 4 wide cars in that set have a six wide wheel base so just watch the height and you'll be fine. Quote
LEGOFANNER Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 There are train and arctic sets in 2018, too. Quote
