SweetiePie88 Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Im stkarting to wonder if lego's even going to bother getting series 5 out in the states or are we just going to have to buy it overseas instead!!! I checked at 2 walmarts and a target and its strike out city. 1 wm and the target have a brand new box of series 4 animals. the boxes are the ones they put on shelves like the mixel boxes . The other wm has one shelf box and an end cap unit!!! Yet here's a weird factor. Despite no wave five at that second Walmart, they have my life mega bloks sets that I can't even find on a google search!!! Lego is REALLY tap dancing on my last nerve now. I could understand the bags being spaced out this much if the waves were made up of many sets but with 3 sets a wave, that's not many. I might even be able to be fine with it if I had a big buy list but I dont! I have to bl order, series 5, and hoping to get a couple of clone brand sets that I want. Next year is standing at a question mark on one tlm set(mostly pending on what figures will be included), a couple friends sets plus whatever animal sets that they'll release. I could even be fine with UK having wave six already IF the states at least had series 5 but we don't! The best that I'm seeing is that it looks like Lego online MIGHT be getting ready at SOME point to EVENTUALLY get wave 5 out since it looks like one series four is sold out and two are on check availability while a couple series 5 can't be found on the Lego store only if you use google but is showing as being unavailable in the states. OK, I could even be fine with the lag IF we were in a time of the year with a lot of releases but we aren't!!! We had a few things in august, a few poly releases going on between TRU and target, and isolated cases of series 12 popping up early in the states( street date is for next month) and that's it pretty much it for the year. I don't think that horse set is considered to be part of the set. It's mainly like that there isn''t any major horseriding set in the next wave, but TLG still want to sell a horse.I didn't hear about the future waves. Since TLG launch another theme Elves coming with new or recolored animals, we will definitely see more animals in the future. Quote

Although there will be three animal boxed sets in the next wave, they seem to be part of a new "animal care" sub-theme; the prelim images of the clinic and the foal have a slightly different design with the special logo of the red cross & the paw. I feel the animal packs have not been quite as successful as TLG hoped, so they probably needed a little change. In the US, the price was $4.99 last year but it's $3.99 this year. And I can imagine keeping the animal packs going isn't cheap, as they had to come up with some new molds. I love everything Friends, but I get least excited about the animal packs because I personally don't have much use for those extremely wild and exotic animals in my collection. I think offering animal sets together with a vet's office in the special sub-theme will give more context and makes it more playable and attractive for some people including me. We will probably see wave 5 and wave 6 in the US soon, though. Probably in time for the holiday season, as they make great socking stuffers. Quote

I don't think the animal set must be related to the previous polybags. Foals have been pretty common in regular sets. If TLG seriously want to introduce an "animal box series", TLG still have to introduce new molds for larger animals (like elephant cubs) and those would cost even more, which would really please me :p.As for boxe sets, I personally don't see the need of a subtheme because animals have always been part of the Friends line since beginning, though I like the new box highlight. I like the variety of animals, and so for other FOLs out there. Some animals from arctic and safari could still have chances to be used in other sets if TLG is willing to. Well, the previous LEGO City Arctic seems to follow the realworld rule so penguins and polar bears don't coexist. It could also be that LEGO turn their investment to their new themes Elves, which also come with animals. Any idea if they will be available again? Probably whenever they bother making more packets. Either they didn't bother making enough so they were short stocked or people went bananas buying them since Lego left us waiting so long plus they do work well in the jungle line. However seems like a company thats been around this long SHOULD have the common sense to make extra packs of figures when they would work well with something else. I mean yes sure they run a risk of having left over animals but unless the Lego friends line is ending, theyll have PLENTY of chances to use up the animals. They could be used as real animals, stuffies, piñatas, statues, displays, maybe even a food dish/item, etc. As far as wave 6 goes, I don't know what's up with that but Lego is really pushing their boundaries with me. The UK got waves 4, 5, and 6 this year yet the states got wave four and we are only now getting wave 5... Kind of. I've only heard of two posts with sightings in actual stores and the stock online is gone pecan goodbye already! I guess I'm stuck trying to track them down at target or Walmart unless toys r us has a bogo 50 thing. I mean I know i should be patient but when it gets to the point of the UK having wave 6 out at least 2 weeks b4 we even get a single wave 5 sighting, that's when you really get on my bad side. And yes I know that I could always go after another set but the problem is as fas as Lego brand building sets go, I'm pretty much done for the year expect for wave 5 And 6 friends, maybe if a good sale/clearance comes up, and maybe the holiday poly at target pending what it is. And yes i am aware of the Halloween poly and I already got 1 batwing and 2 arctic flyers. Quote

Am getting REALLY mad over here! I placed an order for 2 of the wave 5 collections(the ones that have one of each animal) on the 8th and on the 16th I still had no shipment notice. I emailed them and they used the "backordered and just came in stock" excuse and I emailed them back wanting to know why didn't I get an email about the backorder. Well, they tap danced around the question but said that the item came back in stock and it would be shipping out today or tomorrow. Guess what? No shipment notice as of the time I'm posting this AND its shown as sold out, AGAIN!!! Omg Lego, really??? There's a larger set that I REALLY want but I'm going to buy it store so I avoid this monkey business. Not even sure what to do about wave 6 now. I might be forced to go through Lego online again since the waves showing up in store around here are a major hit or miss Quote

And I had originally ordered wave 5 since I thought I'd be able to get them faster then waiting to get to a TRU or target but at this rate, I'm starting to think waiting to get to the store would of been faster!!! I placed the order on the 8th and it's now the 20th. Have yet to get a shipment notification and I'm beyond fed up!!! Quote

They must of put a priorty shipment speed on the thing since as of the wee hours yesterday, its already been sorted through the fedex sorting center a state over from where I live and so its a safe bet that its either at or almost at the sorting center in my state! That is moving a lot faster then normal since usually I'd be lucky for it to just be getting to the one state over place at this point. Quote
