Brickity Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 I'm really digging that beach house. Some color changes here and there and we're good to go. Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 LEGO City never needed bathrooms, it was just populated by men and they just used a tree. Well, a tree only covers half the story right guys ? If city is flooded with police and fire fighters, them Friend's is covered in horses......and most young girls have this thing for horses........i.e. The Saddle Club, My Little Pony, etc.,. Quote
Bricknblue Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 You just use a leaf... from the tree... for the other thing. haha Quote
Ajax Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 WOW! Love the beach house. My favourite of the new sets. Friends sets are driving me mad, they keep putting great parts in them and their making me buy every set. Sunshine Harvester set has amazing parts, new leaves, 4 red apples, strawberries, gold lids.....Yay! Quote
LukeWarmTea Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 So excited by the farm idea - we live in NZ, so it's inescapable - and the potential. Is the tractor idea real or just wishful thinking? More minidoll Friendly vehicles would be a boon. Quote
Ajax Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 The new print on the windsurf sail is Awesome too. Quote
Yooha Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 I wonder why the Friends never seem to interact anymore- they're always hanging out with more and more of their different friends than with each other. As I checked all the sets from previous years, I could find only one set (Summer Riding Camp), in which there is more than one from the 5 primary characters. So basically they never met! Quote
The Dutch Guy Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 I found these on the Lowlug site. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=85699&st=200 Haven't seen them on this posting. The look great, the beach house most of all. Quote

CherityA Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Does anyone know how much these sets will retail for? Quote
ResIpsaLoquitur Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Hmmmmm. How would you guys feel if Lego did some Creator-style Friends sets? My daughter loves Friends, but they are--like most Lego sets--very "prepackaged." Thinking about the one-or-two houses that Creator releases every year makes me think it would be neat if they released a few 3-in-1 buildings with a minidoll. I'd like it if my daughter could have a set that encourages creativity. (She's creative enough on her own, but we do always want to build what's on the front of the box.) Quote
finnbricker Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Hmmmmm. How would you guys feel if Lego did some Creator-style Friends sets? Mixed. If they made more Creator houses each year, that would certainly be a big plus. But OTOH, the Friends could very well move into the existing houses. They used to come with no minifigs at all. Now, they come with a minifig or two, but just evict them and have Mia and Stephanie move in instead. Eg. the Apple tree house or the 2013 Family house would suit the Friends quite well as they are, I think. Quote

My only observation is that the Creator houses tend to come in very "traditional" Lego colors of solid reds, blues, yellows, whites, etc. The Friends theme tends to use a lot of lighter, pastel shades of pink, blue, tan, etc. It'd be fun if we could get a Creator house in a style consistent with Heartlake City. Let's consider it a zoning ordinance. :) Quote
CptPJs Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 I'd love to see the creator houses with the kind of interiors Friends gets. And in terms of creativity, please dear Santa can we have the alternate builds on the back of the boxes like in the nineties please Quote
finnbricker Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 (edited) I agree, ResIpsaLoquitur, yeah, a cool yellow house, for instance, would certainly be great. BTW, has anyone else taken a real good look at the pineapples in the Juice Bar? I think the pattern might be a sticker, not a print. Edited November 13, 2013 by finnbricker Quote
Bricknblue Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Does anyone know what the official color of the barn is? Before I was hoping it was dark purple but now it looks like magenta. Quote
Lyichir Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Does anyone know what the official color of the barn is? Before I was hoping it was dark purple but now it looks like magenta. It looks to me like Bright Reddish Violet (the same color as Lotso the bear from the Toy Story sets, among other applications). But I could be wrong. Quote
Churchill Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 These horse related sets are going to break me. My girls love them. Quote
LukeWarmTea Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 (edited) Oh agreed - looking at these sets makes my pockets feel lighter already. On the Creator houses front - we've had a bit of a struggle with how 'playable' those sets are. As has been mentioned, there's not much detail and not much room! We've got 31009 (for the skateboard mainly) which is for sure a smaller set (she's only 5) but I wish perhaps more thought had been given to how the space was used. The colours could go more neutral - neither brights nor pastels so they could appeal to City or Friends collectors. I love the beige bricks that made me think of holidays in Bath and beautiful sandstone columns! All these sets seem to summery, what's the expected release date? I figured we'd see winter wonderland snow themes for early 2014 - is this a mid year range? Lastly - does "mission on the beach" relate to that Friends TV episode with the sonor? Cause Bella loved that to bits, and it would be awesome to see more 'sciency' sets! Edited November 13, 2013 by LukeWarmTea Quote
Yooha Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 In 41037: Stephanie's Beach House what is the part, that holds the palm tree leaf? I can't figure it out. Quote
Rick Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 In 41037: Stephanie's Beach House what is the part, that holds the palm tree leaf? I can't figure it out. Probably a "snotted" version of this, covered with a tile. Quote
Yooha Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Probably a "snotted" version of this, covered with a tile. It was my 1st thought, but I don't see enough space for it there. But maybe you're right. A horizontal version of that piece would be quite useful. Quote
