ResIpsaLoquitur Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Well, I got my first three figures today. (I like to space out my CMF purchases so I can get a sense of who I *really* want and could fit in our small town.) I got Gail (I realized my town has no construction workers), Lincoln (an instant classic), and Scribble-Face Bad Cop. On the latter, I felt the 1 x 2 plate and thought I was getting Emmett (to go with Gail), until I felt the bag on the way home and realized that it was SFBC. Darn--as if my town didn't have enough cops. Well, at least this saves me from having to get a more expensive set with him. I honestly don't have the money to get nearly all of these sets, so the CMFs do create a cheaper option on some of the figures instead of having to get a huge set. ...hopefully I find that Emmett, though. The alt face on the cop is one of the coolest, creepiest figs Lego has ever put out. He's also different from the Bad Cop in the sets. That one has Good Cop as his alt face. Quote

That one has Good Cop as his alt face. I have a feeling that (Speculative Spoilers)Lord Business is going to erase the Good Cop face, and Emmett will get the bright idea of actually drawing Good Cop back on with a Sharpie. Hence, the scribbled-but good face.(/Spoilers) Quote
JeagerEX Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Is Wal-mart have them already? If they have it pls tell me the item number. Since today is January 1st, I show the item number to them at my local TRU, but they said it will be in the floor by tomorrow. Quote

ResIpsaLoquitur Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Check out Bad Cop's official biography for a possible explanation of what the Scribble-Face means. (Spoilers ahead!) Quote
Captain Settle Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 I picked up my first LEGO Movie CMF today, and it was Gail. She's a great, if a little bit boring, minifigure, but I noticed that her construction helmet is a shinier than a regular one. Does anyone know why this is? Maybe it's because they had to use more paint to cover up the brown of the hair. It doesn't really matter, but it would be interesting to know. Quote

The same goes for Construction Emmet's helmet in the series. And, I just love that. It really adds charm to both of the minifigures. Quote
Canada_7 Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 For Canadians (specifically the Greater Toronto Area), the Lego Stores at Fairview Mall and Sherway Gardens both have the Lego Movie minifigures in-stock. They have plenty in stock (also those at the back) but at the same time many people have gone through them. Seemed like the Sherway Gardens location has a better variety though. Mastermind at Pickering Town Centre also has them. Got my 16 in a mix of the 3 stores. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Surprisingly found them at a local Target. I didn't know they were out here yet. Normally we have to wait about a month after official release before they are anywhere near here. Anyway, felt through all that were available. No Emmets! How crazy was that. All of the 1x2 tiled figures were the Cop. Very odd, I thought. I'm now missing Emmet, mermaid, panda suit guy (only could get one, so gave him to my daughter), Wyldstyle and Shakespeare. I wanted to army build Shakespeare so that may be harder than expected. I was surprised they were out of some of the higher quantitied people (Emmet, Wyldstyle). I felt about a dozen Wiley Fusebots though. Hopefully I can find the rest sometime in the near future. Quote
ResIpsaLoquitur Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 I found some Lego Movie notepads in Target today. This news wouldn't be relevant to the CMFs, except that the cover of one was a larger version of what's on Emmet's 1 x 2 tile. It's something like "Instructions for a Happy Life" and includes "How to Fit In." There was a caption next to the guy getting eaten by a shark. Wish I could find a picture of it, but at least it's nice to know what's on that tile he's holding. Quote
Kez Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 I revisited my local lego store today, luckily I had more money. I purchased 11 movie minifigures which were kindly felt by one of staff who was extremely helpful, and with no surprise he guessed every single one correctly. I was chuffed and I must say Im loving all of the new accessories in this series; However I did get told that they had ran out of the panda guy and the taco tuesday guy, I will have to pay another visit to get the 5 remaining ones that I need. I don't know about Walmart, but my local Target put them out on Wednesday. Quote
HawkLord Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Local Target had a side-wing of the minifigures down one aisle and they were working on an endcap the next aisle over. Quote
TrumpetKing Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 My local target had them a few days ago. Picked up a random pack (WAMP? Guy) then came back later and grabbed Larry, Velma, Calamity Drone, Wildstyle, President Business, and Shakespeare. All very great figures. Quote
Daniel-Technic Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 To all Uk, do Asda or Tesco sell them? Been to Lego Shop and been told it sold out. Dan Quote
Captain Settle Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 To all Uk, do Asda or Tesco sell them? Been to Lego Shop and been told it sold out. Dan I don't know about those two, but I can confirm WH Smith, who I usually buy them from, doesn't have them. Quote
Alpinemaps Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 My Target had them on an endcap. They were marked for $2.29. They rang up at $2.99, but they honored the $2.29 price. Quote
imhotep85 Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 To all Uk, do Asda or Tesco sell them? Been to Lego Shop and been told it sold out. Dan I normally get all mine from Tesco but they've not appeared in the stores near me on the south coast yet. Quote
escortmad79 Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 To all Uk, do Asda or Tesco sell them? Been to Lego Shop and been told it sold out. Dan Not seen them in either yet, they do sell them though. Asda usually only buy in a few boxes per store, Tesco now buys the display units Quote
GuntherThePenguin Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Found all of them in a Walgreens in El Paso, Texas! I really love Emmet and Lincoln, but overall a mediocre series imo. Quote

jluck Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Found them in k-mart near Cincinnati, Ohio! I felt out Lincoln, Shakespeare, bartista, panda suit, and toco Tuesday figures, a perfect 5 for 5! Has anyone posted a guide for bag feeling? It seems this series has several unique pieces such as dynamite and the weird hair pieces. Quote
ResIpsaLoquitur Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Found them in k-mart near Cincinnati, Ohio! I felt out Lincoln, Shakespeare, bartista, panda suit, and toco Tuesday figures, a perfect 5 for 5! Has anyone posted a guide for bag feeling? It seems this series has several unique pieces such as dynamite and the weird hair pieces. I don't know if anyone's done a feel-guide yet, but here's my strategy: - Emmet: Feel for the 1x2 tile and the hardhat. I mistakenly got a Bad Cop because I didn't feel the helmet correctly; make sure what you feel has bumps. - Lincoln: The 2 x 2 tile and/or the round top hat. - Bad Cop: Feel for both the 1 x 2 tile and the handcuffs. Again, easily mixed up with Emmet. - Scratchen-Post: She's on the rare side. Feel for the cat. - Wiley Fusebot: I've felt the beard multiple times, but the obvious thing to feel for is the dynamite. - President Business: The cup. - Calamity Drone: The skirt will stand out to you. Then feel for the rifle. (I've also felt her hat numerous times. It's a weird object which you'll only conclude is the hat once you realize that it's the only thing it could be.) - Larry: The cup. It feels almost but not quite like a 1 x 1 cylindrical brick. - Taco Tuesday Man: The bowl or the hat, but the hat is very obvious from its pointy shape. - Where Are My Pants Guy: He's tricky--you need to feel both pairs of legs in there. If you think it's him, find one pair of pants, hold it with your thumb, and then feel for the second pair. Make sure to swivel the legs to ensure that it's pants and not another large object. - Gail: Her hardhat is identical to Emmet's, but has a ponytail. The jackhammer is also obvious. - Panda Guy: The mask is a very weirdly shaped object. If you feel a very large round object, check for two bumps (which are the ears). Alternatively, find the panda doll. - Shakespeare: I haven't found him yet. I guess find the 2 x 2 tile and make sure it isn't Lincoln or Velma. - Marsha: The mermaid tail is huge. - Velma: Again, I haven't found her--try for the 2 x 2 tile. - Wyldestyle: LIke Calamity Drone, start with the skirt piece. If you find that, make sure there's NO gun. I went through a ton of Drones before finding Wyldestyle. The ponytail is the other distinguishing feature once you get the skirt. Quote
