takarawarrior2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 if anyone has scribble face bad cop, does he have a double sided head. Quote
obsidianheart Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Yes, does. One side is scribble... y? Is Scribbley a word? And the other side is angry with mirrored Aviator sunglasses. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 I found the series at target lately so picked them all up. I had to go to two targets to get all 16 plus a few extras for my daughter. I'd say it is a pretty lackluster series overall, but my favorite figure is Shakespeare I think. It took me a while to find him. Just feel for the neck ruff piece. That really stands out, just like with the sad clown and the actor. Wyldstyle is easy to feel for, just look for the fan. That stood out the most for me. And taco Tuesday guy was easy to find because of his hat and the 1x1 tiles. I picked up two in case I need a second one. My poncho was creased though so it won't fit him correctly. Quote

AmperZand Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 (edited) Same here. I'm not sure they're available anywhere in the UK yet except TLG brand stores. I tried JL and WHS today with no luck. According to JL, they won't have them until some time next month. Useless! It could be that TLG UK realised that there's a surge of initial demand and want to capitalise on it. Not sure the reseller network including WHS and JL will be too thrilled about having their supply delayed to TLG's advantage. Edited January 6, 2014 by AmperZand Quote

Only place not checked so far is TRU but might have to make a detour on the way home one evening. Hoping to find some soon as nearest Lego store is 60 miles from me. Quote

I received my second CMF today, and it was Abraham Lincoln. He's a great figure, but it's a bit disappointing that his hat and beard are one mold, but I guess it would have been hard to have them apart. Oh well. Edited January 6, 2014 by Captain Settle Quote

I'm also disappointed by that, but thanks to Whitefang's review, I already knew it. I won't be after the Lincoln minifig. Quote
ritzcrackerman Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 I was fortunate enough to find all of them (plus a couple of extras for the ones I wanted doubles of) at a local Target. Spent about an hour feeling through packages. Word to the wise - I found this series the hardest to discern by the "feel" method. A lot of them feel similar, with only a handful of differentiating pieces, which can be stuck between the included check sheet and minifigure base. The cat lady, Velma Staplebot, Shakespeare, Mermaid, and Abe Lincoln were the hardest to find, and the rack I searched through seemed pretty untouched. I found tons of cops, tons of Emmets, and lots of Taco Tuesday guys. Anyways, good luck searching. :) It's a fun series. I got doubles of Wiley Fusebot, the Calamity Drone, and Wild West Wyldestyle, they'll make good accompaniments to my Lone Ranger figs (heaven knows if and when we'll ever get a Western theme again...) BlueberryWaffles Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 I just got two- Hard Hat Emmet and Taco Tuesday Guy. I LOVE THEM. Emmett's hair/hat piece is cool (why can't that be normal?), his magazine is very reuseable, and his faces are cute. Taco Tuesday is THE BEST CMF. ever. Awesome sombrero, awesome poncho, didn't expect printed taco plate! These so amazing. Hopefully next I will get Scribble-Face Bad Cop. Quote

Here's a question to those who know ( ), is there more than one Bad Cop, or is there simply the Bad Cop? Quote

Aanchir Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Well, he is kind of a repeat of the Mariachi, from series 2. Though this is certainly an improvement. It always somewhat bothers me when people call him a Mariachi. From my experience, mariachi bands tend to wear fine suits, not just a poncho and brown pants. A Google image search doesn't believe me to think that my experience is out-of-the-ordinary either. I see that he's called the Mariachi in at least some countries, like Germany, which baffles me a bit. Maybe the mariachi tradition is differently understood in countries that don't have the same level of cultural exchange with Mexico as the United States has. It still kind of baffles me every time I see the Maraca Man called a Mariachi, and I still hope one day we get a proper Mariachi with a black suit, tan sombrero, and maybe an acoustic guitar. But the Taco Tuesday guy, portraying a heavily "packaged" and "branded" version of Mexican culture, is actually further from that sort of costume. Not that I think the Taco Tuesday guy is a bad fig. That "packaged" version of Mexican culture exists in the real world, after all, so nothing wrong in my opinion with getting a fig of it (especially as a fig of a mascot character from a fictional movie — that's about three inherent levels of separation from reality). But I'd like to get something more authentic eventually. Quote
Dorayaki Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Well, I'd like to see a Mexican lady earlier, so I'm not that excited for this renewal. Quote

badbob001 Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Will this be sold in Germany? The German release date of the movie is April 10 so perhaps by late February? Quote
Captain Settle Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 All my knowledge of mariachis comes from Doritos adverts. Will this be sold in Germany? The German release date of the movie is April 10 so perhaps by late February? They're already on the German Shop@Home. Quote

TheLegoDr Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 ^^If only LEGO females looked like that! I'd love Mariachi figures for sure. Then I can start MOCing the Three Amigos! The Taco Tuesday guy is interesting, but definitely not mariachi related. I suppose that is true, other countries would see caricatures of Mexican culture and associate that with them, just like in the US, we will see caricatures of other countries without experiencing it fully (at least on a general basis). Lego Spy Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 ^^If only LEGO females looked like that! I guess we'll have to stick with Princess Leia. Quote

Freddy Bricker Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 All my knowledge of mariachis comes from Doritos adverts. Also, went to a TRU today (not my local one, though) and they had no collectible minifigures at all, what a shame, I really thought I'd be getting Marsha today. Quote
