Americans who are seeking the figures may wish to check Wal-Marts. I've been to two stores in the past three days and found full cases sitting on shelves. On a related note, I have finally completed the series.

Finished my set of Movie CMF's last week with the help of a very nice cashier at a local store who offered to help me find a Shakespeare. I cannot feel these things through the bag to save my life.

I wish they were going to be making even more Movie sets (since it was what made me into an AFOL), personally. I imagine that they will give the theme a rest until the sequel though.

I think Dorayaki might be talking about how characters like Gail and Larry never gave Emmet any notice, but you have to remember that Emmet wasn't a very worthy character at that point in the story. He lived his life completely by the book and never questioned anything or did anything to stand out as an individual. It takes time for Emmet to become a hero they can look up to.

But anyway, I think the series has a good range of character portrayals: heroes like Emmet and Wyldstyle, villains like President Business and his robot goons, and more neutral characters like Gail and Larry. In any event, the series has sold so wildly that any concerns about that kind of thing seem kind of negligible. Unless the series were produced in greater quantities it wouldn't be able to benefit from greater demand anyhow.

That depends. As you said their answers were to describe what's Emmet was before how the real story changes him, but usually people aren't happy with being criticized badly behind their backs, no matter whether Emmet finally did something rememberable in the end (as the CMF bios described). Well I believe Emmet is generous enough to forget those details when he comes back to the normal life.

In a broader sense, the master builders who were mad at the untrustworthy Emmet also count, even though their reactions are logical. I personally think the missing part is that they can at least feel regretful when they knew Emmet is willing to sacrifice for them.

I do like the series itself, and after all the possible defects of story shouldn't relate to the value of physical characters. The difference can only be between "hot sale" and "superhot sale" which is kind of negligible.

Bought my first three CMFs, and got Hard Hat Emmet, WAMP guy and Abe Lincoln. Since I didn't present my thoughts on this theme after gaining all the info from White Fang's review and from the movie (as well as having them in my hand), here goes:

* hard hat Emmet: A bland fig, but the good/useful kind of bland. I like the instructions (I didn't realize they could print that small), the hat+hair, and his „pumped-out“ alt face.

* Gail: Has the same bland versatility as Emmet. Should have had a perky alternate face if that's her defining characteristic. The one thing I question is giving her a waist, since vests like these aren't really form-hugging. Waist printing is usually not something I object to, but prining one here is overdoing it.

* Abe: I like this fig mostly for its nice historical torso print. I assumed the hat+beard was one piece since the pics were first shown, so I wasn't disapointed when White Fang showed us it was so. One thing that struck me about his face was that it reminds me of Obama – just change the color and add his mole (and an accurate hairpiece), and you're set.

* President Business: It's a shame that none of his figs include a confident smirk. But the torso is useful and the mug is sweet.

* WW Wyldstyle: OK. I would have liked her better for Western MOCs if she didn't have the skull necklace, but then I guess it wouldn't be Wyldstyle. And let's not forget the fan.

* Larry the Barrista: A nice fig with a sweet accessory, but not all that useful to me. I really think that name tags should be just generic scribbles, but as far as Im concerned, if I get multiples, it's a guy that works at a coffee chain named Larry's.

* Taco Tuesday Guy: My fave fig. Finally a sombrero in a new color (though a plain straw-colored one would have been much better), new poncho and a sweet plate print. And the pants. There's nothing I don't like about him except for the plain torso.

* Shakespeare: My 2nd favorite fig. Love the torso+pants combo. The hairpiece looks nice too. And no one can complain about another ruff collar.

* Scribble-face Bad Cop: Don't really like this fig, apart from the marvellous smart phone. The scribble face is the creepiest LEGO print I've seen so far.

* Calamity Drone: Shame she didn't come with her automatic gun. An even bigger shame is her robot prining on the torso. I guess it couldn't be helped. Though I wondered whether she couldn't have been done in a cyborgish way, with yellow skin, with some robotic elements visible on the head (like the terminator or the CMF cyborg).

* Velma Staplebot: Not a very exciting fig, but useful for the hair and the torso, which is thankfully without robotic printing. Shame the clipboard printing isn't more generic.

* Wiley Fusebot: His beard looks like it would go well on Ori the dwarf, I wonder if it fits with Ori's hair? Otherwise a terrific fig, since his torso doesn't have any metallic printing, and especially for the coonskin cap.

* WAMP guy: the hawaiian shirt is neat, and it's the 1st time I got the „Elvis“ hairpiece, so I won't complain.

* Mrs. Scratchenpost: An OK fig, but as I already have the grandma from the previous series, this is not a fig I'll be looking for. Though I like her hair better than the grandma's, since it can also be used in historical settings for old men, while grandma's looks too modern.

* Marsha: a trippy addition to anyone's mermaid collection, but I don't have any, and I won't start now.

* Panda suit guy: Meh. The suit subtheme isn't my thing. Enough said. Cute teddy-panda though.

That's where I went, but like I said it's a war zone. I even went there yesterday and the only figure I could find unopened was President Business (Who I already have). I sincerely hope they get more in soon.

I picked up Larry, Scratchenpost and President Business today. I picked up President Business as I wanted to keep Lord Business on his giant legs while still having a normal one.

Finished my collection at TRU from a full case and a half (plus they had a couple other sorted cases). Shakespeare, Larry, and Pants Guy are now acquired. Also got dupes of some others. Totally did not expect to see them at TRU in such quantity, but I bet the $3.99 price tag makes people pass.

I think that's the reason. While every other store near me was out, Barnes and Noble has been sitting on a virtually untouched box since before the movie came out, probably because the price is $4.99. I picked up a Mermaid there to complete my set, but even with the 10% member discount $4.50 was a hard price to swallow. This may be another option for those who only need 1 or 2.

Our Barnes & Noble quickly sold out of theirs, even at the inflated price.

Good luck

I pretty much got all the ones I want, grabbed the last bot yesterday so I'm pretty happy.

Bad news, the other Wally World I went to didn't even have a display up, and the only Lego Movie sets they had were things like the Flying Flusher and Castle Cavalry. Interestingly they had some of the new Ninjago sets, so I picked a couple of them up, so it wasn't an entirely fruitless pursuit.

I guess I'll have to stick to Brick Link.

Got Mrs. Scratchin-post and Abraham lincoln today, luckily some kid had ripped open the top of one of the packets slightly, so I peeked inside and saw it was Mrs. Scratchen-post! :D Lincoln's hat/beard is super easy to feel for too. Just 5 to go!
