Masked Builder Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Wow nice. Really have to have Liam Neeson, and Western Wyldstyle. Quote
christianvonnoppenquader Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Most important to me: facial expression.... looking great within this wave. Quote
The Cobra Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Looks like I'm the only one thinking this is the WORST series so far. Quote
just2good Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Looks like I'm the only one thinking this is the WORST series so far. You're not alone. This is in my bottom three (along with S3 and S10). Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 I'm really digging the Badcop motorcycle helmet so I can do a THX1138 thing. But I suppose that's what the movie is in a way anyway. Whoa! I thought I was the only one who first thought that upon seeing that helmet. It's the principal reason I'd want that cop, actually. Overall, I would have preferred a normal CMF Series and really hope No. 13 will be back to normal rather than The Simpsons theme (no thanks, Lego). However, I do understand the Movie CMFs will have good marketing value to promote the film. Actually, to me most of this wave looks like something we'd have gotten in a "regular" wave, anyway. Only a handful of them really seem "movie character-specific," as it were, and two or three figures here (including Emmett himself) actually look pretty much like figures from regular City sets. Shakar Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 (edited) Wow, I must say they all look great. My favourite is Wyldstyle, that dress is fantastic. Edited November 1, 2013 by Shakar Quote
Kintobor Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 I don't think there's a single figure here I don't want. And that scares me and my wallet. As well, Uni-Kitty is just... yes. Quote
Dragonfire Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 I'm getting the Panda Suit Guy, Shakespeare, the male robot, President Business and Larry the Barista. The others...meh. This might be the worst wave so far Quote
LegoPanda Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 I can officially reveal the line up and image: http://brickfanatics...eries-12-image/ The line up we can officially reveal is as follows: William Shakespeare Gail the Construction Worker Panda Guy Abraham Lincoln Taco Tuesday Guy Larry the Barista President Business Calamity Drone Marsha Queen of the Mermaids Wild West Wyldstyle Scribbe-Face Bad Cop Velma Staplebot Hard Hat Emmet “Where are my Pants?” Guy Mrs. Scratchen-Post Wiley Fusebot. i have to get the panda guy mini fig, or my name isn't LegoPanda Quote
naf Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 I don't understand the complaints with this series. Sure, it's a tie in to the Lego movie, but every single one of these figures looks like they could have appeared in any of the CMF lines. I think these figures look great. Quote
SweetiePie88 Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Looks like I'm the only one thinking this is the WORST series so far. Honestly I don't like this wave at all. I don't understand the complaints with this series. Sure, it's a tie in to the Lego movie, but every single one of these figures looks like they could have appeared in any of the CMF lines. I think these figures look great. Here's my honest 2 cents: these figures look really bad. Many are just recolorings or slight redesigns of other figures or they look like figures that little kids would piece together or are designs like lego was running out of ideas. When I first saw the pics, I didn't like them at all. I tried the "walk away and come back later" move to see If my thoughts changed and they didn't. Quote

Really that looks like what we would've gotten anyway? There are like 3 Zombie type figures (lame) 2 types of construction workers ANOTHER Cat-lady .... ANOTHER (OMG) Cop and Mermaid (already seen!) The only thing I want from the whole series is the Mermaid (For hair) and the only cure figure overall is the lady left from the MAIN MOVIE HERO.... (forgot her name) everything else is boring.... no medieval army builders = a bad wave for me. Quote
JCbuilder33 Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Hang on some of these are in the Lego movie trailer Quote
TheLazyChicken Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 I am actually happy with this wave, the minifigs look good and have good pieces. Quote
Kez Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Thanks bricksan, I cant wait to pick up this series, they look fantastic and I'm loving all of the new moulds. Im really liking the new coffee cup, the pandas hat, infact I like every figure as each one has their own merits, well done lego. Quote
BricksMcgee Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 (edited) I can officially reveal the line up and image: http://brickfanatics...eries-12-image/ ... Instantly love that Octan mug. About time they had some merchandise ;) Panda costume also good (was never keen on the gingerbread man costume from series 11). Edit to avoid another post: Construction workers both good (the female one particularly: does seem a bit of a waste to have a male one in a MF series given their frequency in other sets), and motorcycle cop looks pretty cool too. Edited November 1, 2013 by BricksMcgee Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Really that looks like what we would've gotten anyway? Yep. Many of them fit into pretty much any regular City milieu, while we also have a couple more historical figures, another fantasy/mythological figure, another person in an animal costume, and so on - all of which is fairly typical of Minifigures series. The only ones who would never have come out in "regular" waves, as they're seen here, are President Business (and then mostly just because of the hair and possibly the unibrow face print; the rest of the figure could easily have turned up as part of a "regular" businessman-type figure, either in Minifigures or City), the three robots-in-disguise, and Wild West Wyldstyle (again just because of the hair; with different hair it could easily have been part of any other wave of Minifigures, or part of a Wild West set if that theme were active). There are like 3 Zombie type figures (lame) 2 types of construction workers ANOTHER Cat-lady .... ANOTHER (OMG) Cop and Mermaid (already seen!) Those are robots, actually, but as a matter of fact I'm thinking of using them with different heads to be zombies, and for that purpose these figures are very much appreciated - if one has any interest in zombies at all (which I recognize not everyone will), one would naturally tend to want a great variety of zombies, as much as one might have amongst regular Cityfolk, and far beyond what's available with the comparatively paltry six extant official LEGO zombies. LEGO cops are, well, LEGO cops - they're always turning up anyway, whether one wants them or not. The mermaid? Again, one might reasonably want a greater variety of merfolk than the relatively small number of official LEGO mermaids allows for, so again it's appreciated; it's not like they're appearing in consecutive waves, or as numerous as skateboarders or anything like that. The only thing I want from the whole series is the Mermaid (For hair) and the only cure figure overall is the lady left from the MAIN MOVIE HERO.... (forgot her name) everything else is boring.... no medieval army builders = a bad wave for me. Well, a bad wave for you then indeed, unfortunately, but that doesn't mean it's flat-out bad, period. It just means this is one of the waves with less stuff in it that appeals to your particular interests than some others. We all have some waves we like more or less than others. But that doesn't mean a wave is worthless. Quote
DarkKnight7 Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Nice! Finally an Abe Lincoln, liking it!! Also, I like the coffee guy too! Quote
The Cobra Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 I have nothing against the movie (so far, so awesome); as for the figs (hoping I'm getting the correct name-figure pairing): Calamity Drone: not totally bad, but a human western girl would have been better (though we already have a cowgirl in S8) Gail the Construction Worker: worst CM ever? Abraham Lincoln: OK, he's a must-have Larry the Barista: nice Panda Guy: great to have a panda toy, but we already had a panda guy <- oops, we never did; that was a bunny and bunnies do not look like pandas; epic memory fail. So, great to have a panda guy too Velma Staplebot: worst than cowgirlbot William Shakespeare: See Abe Lincoln Taco Tuesday Guy: not bad, but too similar to S2 Mariachi “Where are my Pants?” Guy: oh, so bad. This is why I don't like the series based on the movie Wiley Fusebot: hey, look! Another lame robot President Business: See "where are my pants" guy Wild West Wyldstyle: we're back to nice Hard Hat Emmet: as funny in the trailers, as boring in a CM. Scribbe-Face Bad Cop: We need more cops (said no one ever) Mrs. Scratchen-Post: grandma on acid? Now people can make brick flicks to an Hawkwind song Marsha Queen of the Mermaids: we had a mermaid in S9, and she looked way better than this one. Quote
Holodoc Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Best wave so far. The Panda Guy, Shakespeare and Lincoln will be my first minifigs from this wave! For me, these three will be the ONLY figs from this wave... But maybe after having seen the movie, I'll change my mind. Quote
CptPJs Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Panda Guy: great to have a panda toy, but we already had a panda guy A bit off topic maybe, but where is the previous panda guy from? A quick Google search threw up the one above, and a Fabuland panda, which I'm guessing isn't what you meant. Quote
pawcanada Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 I don't understand the complaints with this series. Sure, it's a tie in to the Lego movie, but every single one of these figures looks like they could have appeared in any of the CMF lines. I think these figures look great. Well for me personally there are few figs who coincide with what I personally collect. As I mentioned before I tend to focus on "Warrior" type figures (e.g. Spartan, Ninja, Knight), "Horror" type figure (e.g. Vampire, Mummy, Werewolf), "Mythical" type figures (e.g. Mermaid, Elf, Dwarf), "Sci Fi" type figures (e.g. Space Hero, Space Villain, Robot) and the "Costumed" figures. I have no interest in Civilian/City type figures unless they coincide with a hobby or interest I have. Therefore only the ones that coincide with my tastes are the Mermaid and Panda guy. Admittedly the robots COULD coincide with my tastes but I'd prefer it if they were more generic. Quote
jamesster Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Wow, where is Johnny Thunder? I thought we were going to get new and old figures remade or what not. Well, we got a boring looking Cat Lady... We just got the Grandma in Series 12. I like Abe, Panda Suit Guy, Shakespeare, Coffee Guy for the hair and cup, but for the most part, I'm really disappointed. We have to have construction Emmett and a female construction worker? Three bland robots? Sure, those robot have some nice hair pieces, but I'm sure we're getting lots of them in the sets and it's THREE this series. I really hope we don't get Bad Cop in the sets if we're getting him here in his basic-looking outfit. Another Mermaid? Pants dude is only good for the Hawaiian shirt, but his hairpiece has already come in black. Where's the Wrestler? I'm really underwhelmed by this series. Oh well, Series 13 is going to rock. Will I still buy them all? Of course. I'm glad y'all like 'em. This. Some of them look nice but overall I'm disappointed in it. Oh well. Quote
Dragonfire Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 For me, these three will be the ONLY figs from this wave... But maybe after having seen the movie, I'll change my mind. Agreed. Although I might grab a Wiley Fusebot for parts- the head would look good for a zombie. Quote
VBBN Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Loving this wave. Whichever character is the girl in black with the colored hair (I know she's in the movie as a main character but I always forget the name) and fan is calling my name. Also LOVING that new mermaid Quote
