Torgar Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Welcome to Nocturnus bgalakazam! There was going to be another guild challenge, but it hasn't taken off yet. I was wondering about that. Is that Nocty community build still in the works/ going to happen? Quote
ZCerberus Posted January 24, 2014 Author Posted January 24, 2014 I don't know. I doled out the responsibility, but it seems to have stalled. Maybe we need to pick it back up! Quote

MrErikku Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 This may seem like a redundant question, but I'd really like to get more involved with the Guilds of Historica. I'm just not exactly sure where to start. I've made a (well three) sig figs with a backstory. I also know that I just recently missed the civil war been the Black Spire and Nocturnus. I was just wondering if there are any other pointers to help get things started. Thank you! Quote

I myself am not particularly active because I'm devoting all my time and pieces into building one big MOC, but if you want to get involved I'd suggest building a small MOC or two and add a bit more backstory of your sigfigs. And could some kind chap explain when did the Nocturnus civil war thingy end, and what was I outcome. Thanks Guys. Edited January 25, 2014 by The Architect Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 @Mr Erikku the best thing to do is start with some freebuilds- for example, expand your sig figs backstory, build part of your town/city, etc. There will be a new challenge (set in Avalonia) soon. Take time to peruse some of the MOCs by other members to see what they've been up to, and the sort of things they build to give inspiration. @the Architect I'm not entirely sure the civil war "ends" we're heading back to Nocturnus after we've done the rest of the guilds, so I'd imagine that the civil war will continue. The challenge hasn't had any results yet, I'm guessing the guild leaders are in deliberations right now. Quote
MKJoshA Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 It's kinda quiet over here. All the other guilds are getting lots of comments. Are you all still recovering from the war? Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 We're always quiet over here. Not the most talkative of guilds. I think the war is still going on, that was only the opening gambit, I'm guessing the final challenge will resolve it. Quote
Torgar Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Yea, were a quite bunch. I've got a free build coming that should be up sometime next week (time permitting). Anyone else have something in the works? Quote

Lord Vladivus Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 I've got some ideas for freebuilds, but I've got to find time. I'm about to move for a new(ish) job in a couple of weeks, so I haven't much time for building right now. Hopefully I'll get something up. Quote

Well, if not the most talkative of guilds, you have the most talkative of persons... Lord Vladivus has 81 posts on the Nocty thread (which makes him fourth in line of highest posters on their guild page), 32 on Kaliplin's home page putting him in eighth there, 33 on Mitgardia - also in eighth, and 17 in Avalonia. That's an average of approx. 41 posts per guild page which would put him within the top seven on every single one! Quote

I enjoy the community here, and I like to talk. I didn't realise I posted quite that much though in the guild threads. That's impressive. I'm aware I try to comment on every MOC now, so that boosts my total post number, especially when we have challenges like the last one! Quote

I haven't commented much on the other guild threads though - especially Nocty, that was my first post! I find Mitgardia and Kaliphlin the most accessible to post in. I find it harder to post in Avalonia for whatever reason. I'm trying to comment on every MOC, especially those of newcomers- trying to make them feel welcomed, and so they stick around. I don't know if it works, or even plays a part in decisions, but I do it anyway! Plus there's some awesome MOCs around! Quote

That's interesting, because I find Kaliphlin easier than Nocty and Avalonia as well, Mitgardians and Kaliphlinians probably just talk a lot more Quote

Avalonia was easy to post in before book two, but since a lot of Avalonians left (especially the talkative ones), they've had less active talk. Quote

I agree, although half of them came here, and we're pretty quiet. Although I think someone mentioned that a lot of talk went on in the challenge thread. It'll be interesting to see if it picks up! I think the ease of talking has something to do with what is posted- links to MOCs and specific questions about another guild are something that I tend not to reply to (although I have in the past), whereas general conversation and general questions about GoH are easier to reply to. It's like their unsociable... Haha! I love how much we're analysing this! Edited February 2, 2014 by Lord Vladivus Quote

Very good point. I should try to comment more on MOCs, especially newbies'. I used to comment a lot on MOCs but fell behind over the summer and have pretty much stopped, and now only comment in the guild threads. I'll have to make more of an effort going forward. Quote
