The Architect Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 (edited) Indeed we are! While all the lesser guilds converse for days to come up with a half good battle plan, we do not need to talk. We act with one mind (at the moment two minds lol) but still. Edited February 4, 2014 by The Architect Quote

The Architect Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Ah yes, thank you vlad, I was starting to wonder why there were clowns hiding behind the trees of Elrics castle : P Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 So you spotted the decoys then? Good to know the Black Spire can spot 7 foot tall scarecrows in clown makeup. Fantastic observation skills there. Quote
The Architect Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 (edited) Indeed! However your ''assassins'' where rather untrained, see when my warriors burnt the clowns in a pile for heat the ''assassins'' came over to the fire and introduced themselves, after which they attempted to kill me. Needless to say, they burnt nicely in the fire . Edited February 5, 2014 by The Architect Quote

The Architect Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Lets look at the facts. There were seven foot scarecrows around my castle and decoys (firewood), walking around my bonfire. Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 (edited) Misdirection. Once you are in possession of ALL the facts, then you can try to argue the point. I play a long and convoluted game, and no upstart with a little black tower is going to dissuade me. Edit: I've got a freebuild coming up soon, anyone else got anything coming up? ZCerberus Posted February 6, 2014 Author Posted February 6, 2014 z, whats the story with warlords? In april i should have a fair deal more time, i should be able to look at the cb with berry again I also should be more available in April. We'll try to get that worked out then. Any other Nocturnian have a community building idea while we score Challenge 1? Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 (edited) I had the idea when the Mitgardians started their Landscapes of Mitgardia, to do a similar thing for Nocturnus. I was bothered about just ripping off their idea, but seeing as their CB has died a death and it's only really the Age of Mitgardia that's keeping going? I was thinking, we have a pretty varied, hostile landscape, and combined with some great builders we could pull of some unique terrain- not to mention all the crazy flora and fauna we've got (some of which have been hinted at in the Tribes builds). Imagine forests of tangled thorns, warped swamps where twisted, misshapen trees vie with one another for the meagre light, herds of demonic chimera roaming fields of lava and the giant pinnacles of the Rakath Mountains where the skeletal frames of undead eagles clash with the fiery talons of twin-headed dragons for supremacy. That's just me thinking off the top of my head and blurting it out, so any thoughts? Edit: I couldn't spell meagre. Edited February 6, 2014 by Lord Vladivus Quote
Gideon Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 That sounds like an awesome idea Lord Vladivus! I'm sure that we only scrathed the surface during the challenge of what Nocturnus has to offer Quote
Torgar Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 I like that idea Vlad! Another idea would be to shamelessly rip off Mitgardia's extremely successful AOM (well done ecc)... And put a nocty twist on it. We are after all Nocturnus Quote
MKJoshA Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Either of those ideas sounds like a good one to me! I'd love to see some more Nocturnus scenes. Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 (edited) @Torgar This is true- I must admit, the fact you get titles seems to keep those Mitgardians churning out all of those builds. As an example, maybe a "Hunting" one, where you depict a character hunting a suitably nasty and vicious beastie? Said beastie should be Nocturnian rather than simply a deer or the like- dragons, giant wyrms and spiders, and more exotic ones like demons, elemental creatures, and the like? Like I said just an example, it's difficult, I'm finding it hard not to come back to the original AoM categories and ideas! Edited February 6, 2014 by Lord Vladivus Quote
Torgar Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 (edited) We could combine them somehow. I think the success of AoM is based on the stages, they make it easy to get started. We could do something like stages of swamp builds, stages of corrupted forest builds, stages of volcanic builds, ect. Edit I like the idea of a hunting/creature category, it would be great to get people building the large monsters in Nocty. Edited February 6, 2014 by Torgar Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 @Torgar, you sir, seem to have the part of my brain that isn't working! I like that idea. Would we define the geographical areas or keep it more open? Defining them would be best for titles, like "Swamp Master", but some people might think of some super cool environments that we don't think of? Quote
Torgar Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 We could have a mysterious/unknown category for any miscellaneous locations. Master of the unknown sounds pretty cool. Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Yes, that sounds awesome! Now we need to see what Z says, and iron out the final details! Quote
Torgar Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 (edited) In the final stage we could suggest adding some of the creatures found in the given environment. Something like Stage 1 around 8x8, stage 2 around 16x16, stage 3 around 32x32 + unique creatures found in that environment. Edited February 6, 2014 by Torgar Quote
MKJoshA Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Those sound like some winning ideas to me. I hope it takes off for you! Quote

And perhaps after you've completed X number of Stage 3 builds, you get a "Beastmaster" title? Depending on the number of categories we could have a second "Beastlord" title if you complete it all? ZCerberus Posted February 8, 2014 Author Posted February 8, 2014 Been really busy with work (I pretend to be a tax accountant in the US) but I like the ideas here. I really think Nocty does need some landscaping ideas to help shape the landscape a bit more. Any specific ideas on shaping the contest? Quote

Too bad you are not around here, I need a good tax accountant!I think the landscape idea is good -- There are so many unexplored regions of Nocturnus. Quote
