Okay guys let me give you some of the ideas we were working on before that sort of fizzled out.

1) Nocturnus coastal city build. This would mostly be Albion like, but instead of nice, beautiful ones, we'd build twisted and demented ones.

2) Warlords. this would be a Legonardo special that didn't take off since we got really busy, but it is something we could revisit. He could give you idea details better than I could

3)Environment/monster based builds from above.

Which one sounds most appealing to you guys?

Warlords sounds cool, but I'd like to hear more from LD before I commit.

I'd be in favour of having maybe the city and landscape builds as continuous community builds- I.e. No set end. By having both you'd give more traditional castle builders something attractive (the city), whilst the landscapes could be a different thing.

Ideally I'd run all three! or would that make it too complicated?

You ask the tough questions Z! If I had to pick one it would be the coastal city (a more demented Tortuga), as a continuous community build, but It would be great to somehow do both the landscape and the city. The warlords seems too similar to the challenge we just completed, so maybe save that one for later.

How abouts this for a rough idea- it incorporates a bit of everything!

1) We set up the city plan and you contribute at least one build to the city. You'll get a title for the city build which will let you move on to the next item.

2) After you have built something in the coastal city, you are allowed to have a sea worthy vessle of some sort in the city harbor. So now, of course, the task is to build a sea worthy vessel (our regulator kabel will be pleased as he desperately wants more sea fairing vessels in GOH). Build the vessel for another title and move on the next item. Of course, make sure the vessel is medieval and watch out for the dangers on the high seas!

3) Now that you have a sea worthy vessel, you can explore the various coastal islands of Nocturnus and make a build showing off their odd landscapes as well as the various wild monsters and animals that live there.

Hurray, ships!!!

Warlords was LD's joint- so I can revist his idea. I suppose we discover these new islands- bit of a power vacuum, a warlord shows up... I'll reconnect with LD on this.

warlords was more aimed at a small, one or two month cb, for one that could last i'd say twisted coastal build for sure, id be happy to bring out warlords ( after some quick revision) during the planning of the city though, they takes ages... i only got about half way (probably not even that) into making the harbor town CB for avalonia

Been really busy with work (I pretend to be a tax accountant in the US) but I like the ideas here. I really think Nocty does need some landscaping ideas to help shape the landscape a bit more. Any specific ideas on shaping the contest?

This is why Nocturnous sux. I should have been the leader. I make better Nocturnous stuff than z does, and he knows it. This site is so unfair.

Which Nocturnus builds are we talking about here?

And I did try to give you some space to plan this Nocturnus city months ago, but it never happened. I guess we'll have to forge on under crappy leadership.

Z, I think you are doing a great job. You were displaced from your home guild but immediately took up the Nocturnus banner and waved it proudly. I hope this civil war in Nocturnus isn't infecting its members...

maybe we should continue the trash talk here, after all Nocturnus is so poor they can't even afford to post in their own forum!

When you can focus on something other than fake beards and scented oil from Kaliphlin, you're welcome to come back and try. In the meantime, don't let the enchanted pumpkins catch you, they rather enjoy a nice hairy lady.

Okay- I am going to need some people to help spread their wings and help get Nocturnus's port city cooking.

First- I want a couple of "applicants" to help design the basic layout to the city. PM your qualifications (or your pure desire and ideas) to help get the ball rolling.

We also need a name for this port city. Give me your ideas for a sweet port city name!

Well we already have Port Wrath in the North, though that is kind of more a border city so perhaps a bit less Nocturnish..

I'm not going to be able to build for a couple of months as I have local shows here to build for, but I will be building for Nocturnus over the year.

I like the idea of all building parts of the harbour city, I think it should be reasonably haphazard design, lots of dodgy back alleys, corpses floating in the harbour.

There can be the seedy part of town, plus the really seedy part of town :) I will make an alchemist shop and opium den :)
