Jacob Nion Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Welcome to GoH, Jacob! Thank you! I would also like to welcome you to GoH as well, Jacob, despite me not being in Nocturnus. I really like the unique look of your character, I find it rather spectacular! Thank you very much- I thought it would be amusing to keep my sig fig from the SW roll play. Requirement was to find a appropriate rat tail. Hope it works well enough. Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Requirement was to find a appropriate rat tail. Hope it works well enough. I meant to ask, how did you attach the tail? Quote
Jacob Nion Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 I meant to ask, how did you attach the tail? The snake's tongue is clamped between torso and hips. It's relatively strong and absolute purist. Quote
Capn Frank Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 I'll be posting my Signature Figure soon. I probably have been putting too much thought into the character and his 'mighty men'. I was looking to start a village in a deep, remote valley of the Rakath Mountains between Goolag Archipel and The Fallen Angel. I was curious if someone else had 'dibs' in that area or what information has been established. From what I've read so far, not much is known. Quote
SkaForHire Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 I have always wondered if the Fallen Angel was in Kaliphlin or Nocturnus. kaliphlin by nice.marmot, on Flickr I suppose it might be the border after looking at these two maps. I guess that means Everylast is pretty much the northern border of Kaliphlin in the Rakath Mountains. kaliphlin-north-east by nice.marmot, on Flickr Quote
Mike S Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 I have always wondered if the Fallen Angel was in Kaliphlin or Nocturnus. We had a discussion about this when Brunak the Chosen was wanting to join the High Council. Brunak claimed the Fallen Angel for Kaliphlin but has since been dispossessed by the desert king. I imagine that the Nocturnus/Kaliphlin borders are not clear cut boundaries but more of miles of no mans land between them. The Fallen Angel probably would fall into this territory until one of the guilds officially builds a major settlement there. Quote

Hands off Kaliphlin! Quote
Mike S Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Is there an updated map of Nocturnus somewhere? Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Is there an updated map of Nocturnus somewhere? Not that I've seen... Thrash did the current one way back in the first book. Quote
Capn Frank Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Hmmm... I did not expect to start a territorial war between Kaliphlin and Nocturnus. Are there any villages around the junction of Moruth Swamplands, mountains south of S'dak'l'vil'th's, and the forest along the coast of the Street of Cerberus? Quote

Are there any villages around the junction of Moruth Swamplands, mountains south of S'dak'l'vil'th's, and the forest along the coast of the Street of Cerberus? Not that I know of. Shadowmere is located on the road to Abyssian slightly NW of where the "M" of Moruth Swamplands is (finally getting around to putting it on the map!). That and the Claw Breakers are probably the biggest settlements in that area. To be honest, pretty much most of Nocty East of the Rakath is empty except for the names on there. Quote

Maybe I could help populate the east with a settlement that is just barely existing. Quote
SkaForHire Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 I guess if the Desert King wins, it will be a moot point. But we do like to expand our borders lately... Ulandus may have their eye on the Fallen Angel Quote
Jacob Nion Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Does the Goolag archipel belong to Nocturnus or Kaliphlin? If Phreg doesn't mind I too would claim a small territory along the street of Cerberus for future city founding. I would glady offer you a town twinning that our future settlements may grow strong and prosper. Of course in case of my unscathed return from the war in the south. Quote
Blufiji Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Are we doing city building now? I wouldn't mind claiming a marshy isle or something. Quote
robuko Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Dr Cogg has a city on the north coast and Clawbreakers is a major settlement, so go ahead blufiji. The Goolag archipelago has had a few Kaliphlin settlements and is technically Kaliphlin I think, but it's a pretty lawless place and they won't bother too much about your passport up there. Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 (edited) I am very interested in joining Nocturnus. I just have one question about my character. I read through the rules and there wasn't anything specifically against this, but I assumed it would better to ask before I made a mistake. My planned character has "king" as a part of his name. He is not actually a king, he would be correctly categorized as a robber baron, but the villagers that live in the village below his keep style and refer to him as king. The official rules say that This(The character) can really be anything..., but I wanted to ask if it was alright to keep the "king" as part of his name, as I don't want to accidentally cause some sort of confusion/problem/break a rule I missed somewhere. Thanks, ~Lind Whisperer Edited March 7, 2015 by Lind Whisperer Quote
SkaForHire Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 I think as long as it is introduced correctly, and there is never a claim at the kingdom of historica, (what is left of it) then it should be fine. Quote
Maxim I Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Everlast is indeed the Northern border of Kaliphlin. But as the exact location is a small secret (Everlast finds you, remember a previous. MoC of me) it is difficult to draw a real line as border. I always considered The Fallen Angel to be Kaliphlin. But it would make sense if it is no-mans-land :) Quote

Thanks, ~Lind Whisperer I can't see anyone objecting to that. Petty Kings were commonplace in the late-Dark and early-Middle ages, so it's not that uncommon. As SkaForHire says, as long it's your character doesn't try to claim Nocturnus or Historica no-one will mind! You could even make it a point of contention with his/her neighbours for bonus story arcs. Quote

Lord Vladivus Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 (edited) In terms of the whole claiming land thing- I think we should possibly try to add some of the more major settlements to the map at least, as its a little outdated now (Shadowmere and the Obsidian Spike being the two that spring to mind). Welcome LindWhisperer! The Shadowmere Assassin and Intelligence Guild have heard interesting tales of a robber baron lording it over some peasants. Edited March 7, 2015 by Lord Vladivus Quote

Anyone able to/willing to have a bash at a new map? Quote
Dr.Cogg Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 I have a tower but I'm not sure which mountain is the highest, because I would claim that for the tower, and I am currently working on a town. Quote
