SkaForHire Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 I was recently commisioned to rebuild 5 of my models (4 of which are Mitgardian) so I've been using my building time to work on those. Currently I'm about half-way through the builds, so in another week or two I'll be able to get back to building some more stuff for here. I visited the nearest LEGO store yesterday and this is what I bought. Part Counts: medium lavender 1x2 plates: 1104 clear 1x1 plates: 1090 bley levers: 27 bamboo leaves: 75 grass stalks: 66 green 6x8 plates: 8 white 2x2 jumper plates: 32 medium blue 1x2 bricks: 217 dark bley 2x2 bricks: 77 tan 2x4 bricks: 27 bley 2x2 tiles: 1714 bley 2x2 slopes: 134 bley 2x4 bricks: 26 Total Part Count: 4,597 I'm willing to trade/sell some of what I got, so if you're interested in something send me a PM. Nice haul! Silly question, did you buy in those small cups, or are you just displaying them in the small cups? I ask because I wondered what the reasoning behind buying so many small cups versus a few large cups is? I have heard packing in the small cups is some times easier, so I was wondering if this was one of those cases. Quote
kabel Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 That's a LOT of lavender SK! I noticed that too and I was wondering whether you had finally gotten into friends ... Quote
soccerkid6 Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 (edited) Hey thats a lot of Lego there :) Yup That's a LOT of lavender SK! Yeah, I really like the color Nice haul! I ask because I wondered what the reasoning behind buying so many small cups versus a few large cups is? I have heard packing in the small cups is some times easier, so I was wondering if this was one of those cases. The cups in the picture are what I bought, and yeah I got mostly small because they're easier to pack I noticed that too and I was wondering whether you had finally gotten into friends ... I have a few Friends sets, I rarely buy any sets anymore though Edited May 1, 2014 by soccerkid6 Quote

mccoyed Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 I've got a ten year old daughter so there's some Friends stuff kicking around my collection too. Quote
Infernum Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Great... Now everyone's gonna thinking Mitgardian's all play with Friend's sets... We'll never hear the end of it! Quote
Mike S Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 I had a couple of friends sets unboxed in a bin ready to be sorted and my wife saw the colored pieces and asked me for the directions so she could build them. She built both sets; this is the first time she has built anything at least since she was a kid... so it may just come in handy to have a few Friends sets lying around if you are a married man. Quote
kabel Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Funny discussion ... @Masa: I'd say it all depends on your kids gender! I came into to my Lego room just the other day and saw my wife building a castle with our boys. You guys can imagine that big grin on my face ... Quote
Kai NRG Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 (edited) @SK Looking forward to seeing you use that lavender! Amazing that you take the time to count it all... Edited May 2, 2014 by Kai NRG Quote

It was the bright colors of the Friends sets that got her to build. Quote

Ecclesiastes Posted May 3, 2014 Author Posted May 3, 2014 Everyone keeps saying this, but I have not seen anything about this. And they let me in with my Google account just fine without any kind of warning or anything. From flickr staff: Dear Flickr members, Starting this month, we will be requesting that everyone use a Yahoo username and password to sign in to Flickr. Eventually, Facebook and Google sign in will be removed. To make the transition immediately, members can get started here (if you already use a Yahoo account this won't apply to you). Over the next few weeks, if you have been logging in with Facebook and Google IDs, you will be prompted to create a Yahoo username and password when you access your Flickr account. If you already have a Yahoo account, you will be reminded and prompted to use those log-in details. When you access Flickr with a Yahoo account, you can expect: - Streamlined sign-in experience - Access the best of Flickr and Yahoo with one account. - Dedicated service - Yahoo Customer Care can provide full account support. - The same great Flickr - All the features members know and love are right at their fingertips. We want to make this change as easy as possible. If you want to know more about the changes, please check out our Help Page. Thank you for contributing to the Flickr community and we look forward to providing everyone with an even better Flickr experience! Markus Spiering Head of Product Flickr Quote
Wat Tambor Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Is there a thread where we can vote for the winner of the three different AoM categories? Becuase May 1st is over now and I can't find a thread here in the GoH subforum. Quote

Garmadon Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 (edited) Sorry for being a bit late about it, but here is my Stables Phase III: BTW, although Flickr still hasn't let me sign in, I thankfully found a loophole that let me upload the pics. @Ska, I don't know why it is working for some and not for others: Kai hasn't had any of the problems I have either Edited May 5, 2014 by Garmadon Quote

Garmadon Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I have been busy with College finals these past few weeks, so I am lost on where/what I am supposed to be doing. Right now Challenge II has just started, the HoM contest has just ended, the GNAR deadline is the end of the month, and Ska is running a LDD contest (besides the Battle of Wither Woods in the same topic). Hope that helps Quote
