Enter Haarits Runeseeker, Dwarven ranger of the western mountains of Mitgardia between Nordheim and Erikson. Primarily Haarits patrols the pathways thru the mountains, keeping them clear of encroaching orcs from the nearby Orcish Marches as well as the odd yeti or any other dangers that might present themselves. Often seen in the company of an ice-bear or a lightning-marked wolf, Haarits is a force to be reckoned with. He is armed with a firestick reputedly of gnomish origins that lets him pick off enemies from great distances with remarkable accuracy, but he always keeps his axe handy for close encounters.

True to the Runeseeker name, his curiosity often compels him to explore beyond his usual routes, venturing into the wilderness and often discovering ruins, hermits, dangers, and the odd forgotten treasure.

Welcome to Historica Haarits Runeseeker!

Great to hear that such a fearless ranger is battling those orcs, and those animals sound like you want to be friends with! However, sir Gideon highly doubts the claims of what that stick can do

(Out of character: gunpowder is not widely used, or at all, in Historica. This was a decision taken to keep the world in a more high fantasy setting. What little gunpowder some alchemist might be making is considered to be more dangerous to the user than anyone else )

I think there should be an exception because when I see that BrickWarriors' Steampunk Rifle, I think of it being pneumatic. It could also should small shorts at the cost of a very short range to make enemies bleed or blind them, if you use Kaliphlin sand! (ONLY IN KALIPHLIN!) :roflmao:

I hadn't realized firearms were completely off limits. I spent a few years playing World of Warcraft frequently, and always enjoyed the rickety steampunk Gnome & Goblin technology. I thought I'd seen some of that sort of thing pop up here & there in GoH, but I could easily be mistaken. As Behemoth suggested, it doesn't have to be gunpowder at all, maybe pneumatic or involving strictly springs & gears. Haarits can switch to a crossbow if the rifle's too problematic!

Hehe, gnomish stuff is always cool. I think you have to wait till one of the big bosses here allows you to have a gun/spring shooter/pneumatic thingy as weapon. Crossbow is always save

Welcome to Mitgardia, Haarits!

On another note, there sure have been a lot of new builds from all of you in the last couple of weeks - keep it up :excited:

I was hoping for some Mitgrardian army application for the new Hobbit sets... No dwarf armybuilder though. :sceptic:

I know :cry_sad:

...but there are, at least, a bunch of new dwarf torsos, many armored! Sadly they're in the biggest sets...

The Hobbit 2014 thread in the Historic Themes... within the last page or two of the thread.

I love the dwarf torsos from AUJ, they're so much fun for adventurers, nobles, peasants... A nice change from the endless parade of soldiers from most Castle sets

Editing so as to not double-post:

Just posted my first proper MOC, my Phase 1 tower!
