Duke Blastus Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 I know it's a topic of much contention, but would technological advances throughout book two possibly make way for crude firearms. Nothing more fancy than a musket. I understand it may never happen, but how would everyone react to the possibility of more ballistic weaponry in the future? Quote

Crude firearms have been used before in Historica. Sirens-of-Titan even had the dwarves in his Rise of The Mage use them. Someone else in Mitgardia also uses them. So I think it'd be fine if anyone wanted to use them. Quote

I think that is up to the leadership of GoH to decide, since firearms can have implications on the plausability on many stories and builds (for example fortifications). I think the general consensus before was that the use of firearms was considered highly experimental and not widespread in Historica. I myself would like to keep Historica in a more high medieval setting and not get too close to say a 16th century setting, but as GoH is fantasy I also agree that some anachronism is fine since we are not try to replicate an exact historical time period. I completely agree. I personally have never, and probably will never, include guns in my GoH MOCs. Quote
Duke Blastus Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 (edited) Well I'm happy with either result Also, financial troubles have led me to a longer wait without a camera, so I took some low quality webcam ones I'm aware they're not great, but you can at least see what my Character looks like. Here is Thorrak in his finery, mostly worn in and around Valorgard. Parts are Thespian Legs, Professor McGonogall's torso, dark green arms, gold pirate hook, gold eppaulettes, black cloak, general medieval looking bearded face, musketeer hat, and a small white feather. Here he is prepared for battle, an expedition into the frozen north, or general travel. Parts are Knight's Kingdom I legs,CMF Viking ttorso, dark tan arms light grey hook, black cloak, same face, Hermione Granger's hair, and a Tomahawk. Edited September 29, 2013 by Duke Blastus Quote

MKJoshA Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 I'm considering joining Mitgardia. However, I had a question first. If I make Mitgardia my home am I allowed to build scenes based in the other guilds? How does that work? Would that mean they get extra gold or that we just don't get any? Also, I've gathered that freebuilds get your guild gold. But can it be any kind of free build? Or does it have to follow certain guide lines? Any info would be appreciated. Quote
Legonardo Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 your fine, buildings set in other guilds is totally OK, doesn't benefit them AAnd a freebuild could be just about anything you can build, (providing it fits withen historica) Quote
Yooha Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 I forgot to post it here as well: The Settlers go to Historica – part I: Pinewood cutter Quote

I might be wrong, but if you include your guild colours, the free build counts towards your guild even if it's built in a different area, I.e. Your sig fig visits a bazaar in Kaliphlin, carrying a Mitgardian banner. At least that's how I understood it. Quote
soccerkid6 Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 (edited) Here is my free build: Spear Fishing in the Mitgardian Clan Lands Edited May 19, 2016 by soccerkid6 Quote
Rogue Angel Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 Duke Blastus -Gideon's summation in the general consensus is spot on. Mkjosha - if your Mitgardian character were to travel to another guild, and your MOC portrayed that, it would count towards Mitgardia. If you made a MOC about a character from another guild, it would not count for any guild. And throwing in some Mitgardian soldiers into a Nocturnas build would not count. Check out some of DeGothia's builds for examples. Quote
Dragonfire Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 Berelan Gryffen once again pledges his loyalty to the Northern Guild! Short Bio: Berelan was born in the village of Daledir, in Avalonia. He grew up there and enlisted into the Avalonian army. However, he was wrongly accused of murder and had to flee in disgrace to Mitgardia, where he has lived ever since. He and his friends are looking for a castle of residence or a place to build one. kabel Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 welcome mkjosha, actually the landscape community build offers a lot of freedom to build whatever you want and become aquainted with Mitgardia a littel better. It is especially dedicated to all the new members. However, you can always build all kinds of freebuilds and of course pics of your troops are also welcome. Quote
Escape The Fate Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Hello, I am proud to join Mitgardia for Book II. I am introducing Lord Arath and his wife Sylvia. Quote
kabel Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 welcome ETF, good to have you in the North! One slight reminder though: dark green and the dragon are the color and the sigil of Avalonia and gold is the color of Nocturnus. We actually use normal green and yellow for our flag and the bear claw as the sigil. Hard to obtain, I know ... Quote
Bkrosell Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 A lot of people are joining Mitgardia, 'Thats Grrrrrreat' tony the tiger, Quote
