gedren_y Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 Is that a GEAR Co. outpost in Mitgardia? Quote
TitusV Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Nordheim Keep A bit of drool slips down my chin... Congratulations, SK! You've just build the best castle I've ever seen! Quote
DwalinF Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Hi people! Sometimes I build something like castles in northern style, also I like Dwarves, so I decided to join your guild. But I have a few questions. * As I understood I must create a character. He must be present in every MOC? In what cases he must be in my MOC? * Should I build only MOCs that fit history of Mitgardia? Or I create the history with my MOCs? Who creates the history? * Can I create a Mitgardia MOCs not for any challenges, but just for my own fun? * Where can I find more info about challenges? I just cant understand what it is. What is the aim of challenges and what are the phases (1,2,3)? Excuse me my stupidity. Thank you for your patience. Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Welcome to the guilds! Yes, you need to create a figure, but he doesn't need to be present in every story- I myself have several secondary characters. I can't think of many circumstances where your sig-fig must be present! The overall story line is written by the guild leaders, but members are encouraged to pursue their own stories (as long as it's not earth shattering, eg, all-powerful Mage who takes over Historical and commits mass genocide of all the sentient races). Not all your builds need to be Mitgardian. Builds can be for challenges or for your own fun (we tend to term these free builds). I'm not on a computer so I'll leave the challenge links to others! Hope this helps a bit! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 In addition to the excellent information LV gave, here's a link to the Age of Mitgardia challenge, which explains about the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd phases thing: link Quote
Spader Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Nordheim Keep: Sweet build there. You just seem to have an amazing ability for woodwork. Makes me want to go build some more myself....... Quote

Gunman Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 Welcome to Mitgardia DwalinF! @SK great mocs mate :) @Littlejohn wow... looking forward to your story builds! Quote
Garmadon Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Some of ye old Algus are sweating it out on spy duty... always one of their weak points for some reason! Quote

DwalinF Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Are the MOCs such dwarvish mechanism allowed in this guild? Like gyrocopters or cannons... What history says? Quote
Dr.Cogg Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 It varies, like for example, you can build golems but you can't build robots, Primitive cannons, probably yes, Gyrocopters, no, but you might be able to get away with something that uses floating rocks (I myself have a ship that flies that way) in terms of tech and magic here's the ranking of the guilds: #1.Nocturnus, because we have no restriction, like the rest of the guilds. #2. Is between Mitgardia and Kaliphlin, because kalphlin magic is a little more advanced and mitgardias Dwarf tech. #3. Avalonia, they have magic and tech, but it's behind everyone elses. Quote
kabel Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Magic in Mitgardia is actually frowned upon. But a little primitive dwarven engineering is okay. Gyrocoptors would be too far out though! Quote
Blaze Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 I know that it is frowned upon, but I think it would be cool to see Mocs like that in Mitgardian style! If it would be steampunk style I think it Could fit our guild well. Its not illegal right, I mean anyone can build in his or her own imagination and if they have a good story or origin with it, why would it not be good? Just my opinion off course! Quote
MKJoshA Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 I love steampunk, and I'm really glad it's gathered more of a following in recent years. However, I don't think GoH is the place for it. Everyone is entitled to build their own creations and write their own story so I'm not saying that it's "not permissible." The problem with steampunk is that it would require "steam" inventions. And that just isn't where GoH is at in it's overall story. We are dealing with the same request in the new BoBS game too. But especially for GoH, builders have been adding to its story and community for years now so there is somewhat of a precedent that can't be overridden just for one or two builders. I think it would be awesome if someone would start a similar game to GoH and BoBS with steampunk. But until then, I feel that steampunk builds should be submitted as standalone MOCs in the Sci-Fi forum. I'm actually planning out some Steampunk builds for this year. Maybe Blaze, myself, and a couple others (like Goliath) could do a collab of Steampunk builds. PM if you're interested! Quote
DwalinF Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 (edited) I talk about Dwarwish gyrocopters, cannons like in Warhammer, I think you agree that it's not "true" steampunk itself. Theese inventions get on well with fantasy spirit, swords and magic. So I thought it would be good feature of Mitgardia Edited February 3, 2016 by DwalinF Quote
Jacob Nion Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 I talk about Dwarwish gyrocopters, cannons like in Warhammer, I think you agree that it's not "true" steampunk itself. Theese inventions get on well with fantasy spirit, swords and magic. So I thought it would be good feature of Mitgardia Since we haven't found warpstones in Historica yet, the only source of energy for the things you probably have on mind would be magic. So if you say something can fly because it's enchanted nobody would complain about I guess. Let us not forget that TLC's pretty first true fantasy line was fright knights and featured those infamous flying machines. And about cannons, I tried on this myself during the Kaliphlin civil war but tried to make clear that it was no usual weapon you see on every battlefield. In general, fantasy worlds need the status quo in matters of technology. There is usually no progress for thousands of years. If we now had en masse gunpowder and flying machines that would change the whole style of Historica. Think about The Lord Of The Rings. There's the running gag that you just could have shortened the story by using the eagle to get to Mordor. Tolkien himself knew that. He once wrote that he was very careful not to over use the eagles. To get things together, having such advanced machines would make things less complicated and therefore a bit boring for most people. Quote
DwalinF Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Absence of warpstone its an argument. You convinced me :-) Quote
Jacob Nion Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Absence of warpstone its an argument. You convinced me :-) Haha, seems that one sentence would have been enough. But I think there's still enough room for highly skilled dwarven engineering. Thinking of water powered mining machines and forges, large siegeweapons and anything that runs on gears. Quote
dathil Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Hello there, Im new here. I recently discovered this forum and wanna join it. My Lego collection is rather small due to budget limits, being a 18-year old, but that will change oh so fast :) I mostly have knights/castle stuff so this fits quite well. I hope this is still active XD Ofcourse I enter a sigfig immediatly, Davik Shieldbasher Davik Shieldbasher is a poor man from unknown - and probably uninteresting - origin. All he owns are a dented helmet, an wooden, self-made longaxe, and his signature shield, with the bull, his sigil. He is renowned for fighting with his shield as mayor equipment. Quote
TitusV Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Welcome to GoH! Altough you chose the wrong guild, you've got a Nice sigfig! Quote
LittleJohn Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Welcome to the guilds, dathil! Very nice sig-fig, cool to see the bull knight shield used Quote
