Ridge Montante Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Interesting sets. Lots of big pieces though. Not what I was really expecting. Quote
just2good Posted October 28, 2013 Author Posted October 28, 2013 Here's the set pictures for this theme! I believe that one of the sets is missing; these five were all I was able to find. You're a legend. Thank you. Lots of meh stickers, but the sets are interesting. Not liking the boxes, but I'm sure they're not final. Quote
Churchill Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 I really like these. And I know my girls will love them. Thanks for sharing! Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Thanks for sharing! I hope we get an Aladdin-themed set at some point. Quote
lightningtiger Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 The cute factor is set to maximum on those sets and they will all fly off the shelves.....girls seem to like anything princess related ! Quote
Oky Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Wow, the Merida set looks great! It even includes cookies, wisps, a flag with her family crest, and all three Triplets! And is that a purple bow and arrow? It's still odd how it is a mash-up of completely different scenes from the movie, but I'm okay with that. The only thing that's still sorely missing is Elinor, but you can't have everything I guess. The other sets look very good too, but a bit too girly for my taste. I'll wait for final pics to make a decision on whether to get these. The new dress piece works surprisingly well for all these different princesses. I hope that crab in the Ariel set is just a stand-in for a new Sebastian mold though. Also, the carriage doesn't seem to be quite the right shape, and it seems like a terrible tease that they include a fairy wand, but no fairy. Looking forward to the other Ariel set! Quote
Plissken Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 (edited) Wow. Thank you for the pictures. This theme seems to become very strong. Nice selection and color choices. I'll buy the Merida and Arielle sets. The tower set looks good too and I think to get this at well. Both Cinderella sets look nice but they don't match my taste. Maybe this changes till the final pictures. As I said, thanks for the pictures EDIT: Little Pascal is a nice addition. Really great to see this little critter in the Tangled set. I also love the three brothers. Good to get all of them. I hope the Arielle sets get new molds for Sebastian and company too. Edited October 28, 2013 by Plissken Quote
SMC Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 I thought one of these might be my first minidoll set but I am not a fan which is a good things as there is too much to buy already. So I am happy to say I dont like them. Quote
SoupOrFishOil Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 I think that these sets look amazing, even as prelims. Well, other than the carriage which doesn't seem right and Merida's highland games isn't that great, but they can't all be winners. The mini-dolls don't have me very excited either, but I love the sets. Quote
deskp Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 I think those are not prelims, well the giant stamp says so, but I belive it'f final images simply watermarked so people wont share them. The new molds and the printing are in the pictures so no reason to belive they're not final. Quote
SMC Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 ^ I agree look at the superheroes ones which are very different. Quote
CptPJs Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 I disagree. The piece count is the same on nearly all the boxes, they say "product name" (literally) on the side of the box, the photos overlap the front of the packaging, and Prince Eric never had a beard. These are work-in-progresses for the retailer catalogue. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 They're simply further along in design process than the Superheroes sets. I like them. I was epecting this sort of large piece building style but was hoping it would be more akin to the Friends set design. But these are aimed at a slightly younger audience for the most part and as such should do well as a transitional build from Duplo to System. The tower is a must have and the Merida set looks nice, especially with the triplets and the cookie catapult. My daughter will go nuts over these. Quote
robuko Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 These look pretty good, I like the Merida, Cinderella carriage and Ariel sets as parts packs. Quote
Kintobor Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 I doubt these are final. Looking on the side of the Rapunzel set, I'm seeing Mia's dad and the owner of the restaurant looking through a what appears to be paints and other art material. That and Pascal's replaced with a turtle. There's a suspicious looking 4x1 piece with the studs on the side for snot, which makes me wonder what's going to be there. If I'm going to pick up any of them, it'd be that one, and probably the archery set. One can't have too many bear cubs! For mnidolls, the figs hair (because that's really all that's salvageable off them for minifigs) is excellent! Can't wait to shove Merida's hair on some rule 63 Bilbo. I'm also really digging Cinderella's hair piece! May have to pick up the carriage just for it! Quote

badbob001 Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 I'm a little disappointed in that these sets seem far too simplified in design and realism compared to the Friends sets... feels like it's merely a step-up from Duplo. Cinderella's Castle looks too squat, especially if you want to compare it with the iconic Disney one. And her coach looks like a decorated box on wheels. Rapunzel's tower is also looking rather sad. They need to at least double the piece count to makes these a bit more interesting during the build. Please get the Friend's designers onto this theme. Then at least you are guaranteed to have bathrooms in each set. Quote

I'd pay good money for Cinderella's Golden "Throne" and Glass Bidet :P (sorry about the edit my phone is ridiculous) Edited October 28, 2013 by CptPJs Quote

Brickity Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 (edited) These look super preliminary. Just look at Ariel, Cinderella's carriage, Rapunzel's tower and the ruin looking Castle. By the way, is Rapunzel's hair a new piece or just a new color? I hope they give her the long hair down. Edited October 28, 2013 by Otherworld Quote

Someone on YT commented on a video of mine telling me he had the picture. Anyone mind trying to find the original picture on Tamayk's server? Also, yeah that didn't work out too well. I'll keep trying. -Sci Quote
bekindsorewind Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 (edited) So far I'm only interested in the two larger sets. Edited October 28, 2013 by bekindsorewind Quote
