My local lego store had all of sets available. I picked up the Rapunzel's tower. I was debating getting this one over Ariel's treasure but I decided I did not like build of the mermaid set.

All these sets look so great, I have no idea how I'll be able to get my hands on them though. At least with my parents not noticing :look:

Haha I know right? It will take long until they get used to the idea of me buying pink girly boxes + disney princesses  I'm sure my mom will understand right away, so I might just tell her to buy a set for me.

Anyway, I thought Ariel's hairpiece looked good on her, but it looks horrible on the regular minifig. It looks like if someone grabbed play-doh and made a hairpiece out of it

Most of the hair for the minidolls are soft ABS, and it doesn't have the plastic sheen. It's more apparent when placed next to the standard plastic in that color. Before photographing, I suggest polishing it with a wet q-tip.

The pearl colors are the only ones that don't seem to have this sheen miss-match.

I hope they don't stop making new castles just because they've already done Cinderella's one. I'm holding out for for a Beast's castle, complete with Cogsworth, Mrs Pots and Lumiere. Those three and the Beast would need new molds, so I'm guessing that's why Beauty and the Beast isn't in the first wave; they want to see if the range sells well before making a commitment. Fingers crossed for the future!

Why would you have to sneak LEGO from your parents? I know those little bricks are highly addictive, but last time I checked they aren't illegal.

I never said they were illegal, it's just that buying them puts me in an awkward situation, that's all. Lego is highly addictive,, yes, they aren't illegal, yes. But if my parents find it an odd buy, well then I may get the urge to sneak them. It's no big deal, really, I just don't want my parents to think I'm playing with girl toys. I always tell them "I'm COLLECTING an interest". End of story. I can't hide them forever and lie about them. Why? Because this isn't a fairy tale

Making hair-pieces out of play-doh, seems like a custom idea!

And that's enough bad puns for one day. Oh and thanks for the review just2good, very detailed and urging tempting to buy the set(s)!

^Your parents shouldn't judge you for buying pink/purple LEGO. It's still LEGO either way. Plus, I grew up on Disney movies and loved them (even though they all had princesses in them). I guess I don't see the big deal :sweet: . I'll end up buying these for my daughter, but there are some pieces I definitely would want for myself.

They won't necessarily judge me, just look at me weird. And I do bad in an awkward situation, and would rather not go through one. My post wasn't a plea for help, it was just me stating I didn't want my parents to know. You don't see the big deal, because there is no big deal.

I am so disappointed by Merida's hair! Am I right in thinking it's the same as Andrea's but in a different shade? I wish they'd come up with a new 'wild hair' mould - and why isn't it red?!

Also (this is the edit) aren't Ariel and Merida's eyes meant to be green?

Yeah, it's Andrea's hair. I think it fits Merida well, I mean it represents curly hair, the only real problem to me is that it doesn't represent the proper length of hair. But it doesn't bother me much. And I think this shade of orange is closer to the movie than any of the red shades would have been (They would have been too).

As for the heads, it would appear that all of the princesses sport Friends heads rather than new heads. This is my only particular problem with these sets. I was really hoping that they would create faces to match how they looked in the movies rather than use generic Friends faces (After all Clone Wars sets have those anime eyes, why can't the princesses have "Disney" eyes). Perhaps down the road they'll change this, new themes end up getting tweaked at some point if they last long enough, so eventually they'd have to start improving the faces. Though it is possible that it was Disney who didn't want the actual faces used for some bizarre reason (Weirder things have happened).

When I woke up this morning with a plan to go get the Eiffel Tower, I never thought that I'd be building Cinderella's coach first.

:)

I also never expected to find SNOT techniques in a 'girls' set, either.

Saw the bigger sets at Target yesterday! Showed my parents the Tangled set and they pretty much gave me the go ahead to buy it when I have enough money! (My big sister decided to go into Media Arts and Animation because of Tangled, and my whole family loves it too)

My wife got Rapunzel's Tower (along with the last of the latest Friends collectible animal series and Stephanie's Newborn Lamb) yesterday while I picked up 3 of the series 11 minifigs... One thing that impressed me with the Rapunzel's Tower was not just the detail of the interior (and well-designed exterior), but just how BIG the set was for $40. Personally, I would have got Ariel's Magic Kiss set, but I figured we'd spent enough on LEGO for one week (that and I want to go to the LEGO store in Baltimore next weekend to stock up on PAB items and get some VIP points).

Any word on a summer or fall wave? I am smitten with this line.

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like there will be. If anything, we'll get a vave Winter 2015. :look:

At least that will give my wallet time to catch up. My daughter is in love with these sets. :). Looking forward to possible Belle, Snow White, and Aurora.

Yes, that's kinda weird. Regardless of debates, there are still many unused Disney stories, and it's even more weird if TLC donesn't plan to make money with the latest Frozen. Meanwhile, Friends is still keeping on new waves.

Remember the long lead times for Lego sets. These probably started designa nd production when Tangled and Brave were current or nearing release. Plus TLG sometimes seems hesitant at jumping on things sight unseen. The Princesses lines tend to be fairly immunized from whatever the current newness is. I bet we will see a Frozen set whenever we see a next wave. And we WILL see another wave I am sure. Lego just discovered a money printing machine. Probably very late summer / early winter targeted at the Christmas season.

I'm sorry is this money machine a reference to a new set of theirs? I'm so lost, though this theme desperately needs a Snow White and Aurora, I'm sure they'll be the first to come next year, hopefully with a 2nd wave.

Regardless of Brave and Tangled who are the past now, perhaps TLC would eventually make Frozen sets several months later. Howeverm I wonder If TLC have a diffrent strategy toward this franchise since they don't choose to make big movie money like other themes do.

Since there are too many stories to choose from, I expect to see Disney sets come in every season.

I personally expect to see Disney sets come in every season since there are too many stories to choose from. I'd be sad to see Brave or Tangled ends up with only one set.

Frozen may also technically be a different license from Princess's at least until Disney formally adds them to the "Princess" list. (With their big crowning ceremony and all)
