Minifig Lecturer Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 The Empire has opened a new nuclear facility in Enatol. Some pictures below. You can read about it and see more pictures at http://www.minifigtimes.com Quote
Jody Meyer Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 this is a great job. this sort of looks like an Areva design. Quote
lightningtiger Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Excellent design 'Serengeti'......hope it doesn't have a melt-down ever ? Brick On 'Serengeti' ! Quote
eurotrash Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 It looks great. I really like the design you've used for the cooling towers and the whole thing looks right. Is there any truth in the rumour that this is going to be part of the Lego Simpson's new range of sets? Quote
jluck Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Cool idea, not one I've seen before. I really love the towers! Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Very neat idea and realization Serengeti! Love the work and detail put into this. Will/do you have any vehicles to go with it? Quote
Blast Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 I love it! You've inspired me to put a nuclear power station in my city Quote
Missing Brick Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 Nice industrial buildings and an impressive collection of grey bricks. 40 grill plates? I'm jealous. Quote
Minifig Lecturer Posted August 14, 2013 Author Posted August 14, 2013 Thanks all for the comments. To answer some of the questions... I wasn't aware of the upcoming Simpsons theme until after I had started this so I guess it was accidently fairly well timed. Look forward to having a Homer though. The towers were a problem and unfortunately have gaps. Experimented with a few other designs but this was the simplest and cheapest one. May try another sometime. It could well have a meltdown as it's operating despite not having had a safety check.. Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 What a fantastic MOC! The gate looks perfect ...I like these kind of facilities! Quote
monsinjor Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Wow! I love it. The whole plant has stunning parts. The gate is awesome and I really like those towers. Great job! Quote
kieran Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Looks great and huge, you can tell its a power plant straight away Quote
Dfenz Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 This looks very well. A few haz-mat collectible minifigs would go well with it. I look forward to seeing this next week 'in the brick' at the upcoming brick.ie display in Dun Laoghaire, Dublin. Quote
Esurient Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Awesome job on the nuclear facility! That's a lot of grey bricks! Quote
Minifig Lecturer Posted August 21, 2013 Author Posted August 21, 2013 Thank you for the feedback... @Dfenz... will be complete for the exhibit and thank you for parts assistance! I have made some tweaks so will post updated pictures soon. Quote
timmyc1983 Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 I saw this when you first posted and meant to comment I love the detail you've put into this plant, I'm not familiar with nuclear power plants but it seems instantly recognisable. Wonderful job and happy building Quote
Bfenz Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Fantastic build Serengeti and everyone really loved it at the show this weekend. Quote
Dfenz Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 nice, but it needs minifigs I saw it today - it does have haz-mat guys now. Quote
Minifig Lecturer Posted September 12, 2013 Author Posted September 12, 2013 As promised, some updated pics.. with some minifigs :) Quote
jimmynick Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 That's a very nice fence you've put around the property. Simple, but effective. I also like that you included the bright green waste with an alien in it. Perhaps you could build out the towers at the top using plates to get the nice hyperbolic look they usually have? One more thing: using sand green plates around the roofs of the buildings is a fantastic way to introduce a little colour. Great job, Serengeti! Quote
eurotrash Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 The minifigs and the scenery around the Plant really complete this excellent MOC, but its the alien which pushes it to another level. Thanks for sharing it with us! Quote
Napoleon53 Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 (edited) Well, done, Mr. Serengeti! I actually read about this on the Minifig Times first, as I've been a big fan for years. Edited September 13, 2013 by Napoleon53 Quote
