GandalfofHoth Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 After hearing the new tribes I'm a little concerned about the Villain to hero ratio. I would guess at least the scorpions and spiders are "evil" tribes, and would be surprised if bats weren't evil also, so the good guys would only get the rhinos, and the bears if they make an appearance, but in the summer we could get another one or two good tribes to even it out again. I also hope that we get less big waves of new tribes, because as much as i love new tribes I would like to grow my collection of year 1 tribes also, so far there are no crocodile, wolf, raven, gorilla, and eagle sets and there are only two sets of year 1 tribes in this wave. krystalKING Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 So the plot is'nt going anywhere. Chima sucks. We don't know that, Lavertus Outland Base seems to suggest that he's a rougue Lion searching for the Legend beasts through the outlands, and I would hold off on saying anything negative until we see the set pictures, Heroica's Iirion didn't seem to add anything, but the comic moved the plot forwards quite a bit. (and resolved it for that matter.) Quote
PenPlays Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 So the plot is'nt going anywhere. Chima sucks. I see that you have strong disinterest in this theme, and I respect that, but to be quite honest, if that is the truth, than why do you come to tell us that? If you do not like this theme, than it may be best to avoid this thread, and other Chima threads, unless you have something truly constructive to add to the conversation at hand, rather than "I don't like this theme," or, "I still don't like this theme," like you have in the TV show's thread. We get it, and there is no need to repeat yourself. Quote

UberlegoTV Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 I wonder what the "Legend Beast's" are? Maybe they are sets from before CHI was found? that would be cool. After hearing the new tribes I'm a little concerned about the Villain to hero ratio. I would guess at least the scorpions and spiders are "evil" tribes, and would be surprised if bats weren't evil also, so the good guys would only get the rhinos, and the bears if they make an appearance, but in the summer we could get another one or two good tribes to even it out again. There is also the Beaver Tribe, witch considering they helped Laval and Eris fix the royal fighter i would say they are good guys. Quote
Mesonak Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 The thing with the whole "good guys" and "bad guys" discussion is that the TV show changed that all up anyways for the purposes of the show. There are quite a number of things that are vastly different from what's presented on the website. Except for the Lions, Eagles, and Gorillas, there really is no "good" tribe. The Ravens will take care of whatever people want them to so long as they're paid, the wolves, while a bit ruthless, aren't what I'd call evil, I can't take the Crocodiles seriously as antagonists considering the mind control flower used, the Beavers will help anybody that lets them fix stuff, and the Rhinos and Bears are oblivious. I do wonder how they're going to portray these characters in the sets, however. :P Quote
Jargo Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Seems to me the only truly evil character is Crooler. All the others are either truly good or just not very bright and easily manipulated. Crooler is controlling, manipulative, scheming and dangerous. The tribes are all guilty of rash thoughts and actions but none of them are really evil or bad. Hot headed and quick to jump to conclusions for sure but even the Ravens aren't evil. The Crocs follow Cragger because he's their leader but aren't evil. It's just Crooler with her mind altering flower and her plotting that is the bad guy. Take her out of the picture and peace would fall on Chima once more. Regarding the next chapter with the arachnid and bat characters, I imagine some sort of quest to find Crominus and Crunket takes the story into caves and underground passages where the arachnids are encountered. A new danger because Crooler and her flower are going to get boring after a while. It'll also add more terrain for Speedor races and chases. Quote
Lego Spy Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Scorpions! Scorpions! Scorpi- Oh wait... How could Lego make a minifigure scorpion? A stinger would be pretty neat but it could also kill the design. How is Lego going to make a minifigure, look like a scorpion? And the Spider tribe. Does anyone relate the image Penkid11 posted on the first page to a spider? Look at the jaws, and yes, I know it doesn't have eight eyes but do any of the other Chima characters actually look realistic? Quote
LegoDrake Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 (edited) That picture looks more like some sort of warthog or pig to me(possible new tribe?).From the Arachnid and Bat tribes it sounds like Chima will be heading underground. Edited August 28, 2013 by LegoDrake Quote
Daenerys Targaryen Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 For the Scorpions, would it be possible to have a piece fit between the body & legs that includes a tail w/stinger? As for the Spiders, what about a new design ala snake tail but with spidy legs and combo'ed alongside the added Garmadon bit for the added arms? (that assumes of course that LEGO wants them to have all 8 appendages...) Quote
kermit Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 I am very surprised that we are not getting any sets with the foxes or rhinos in this wave. Quote
Mesonak Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 I am very surprised that we are not getting any sets with the foxes or rhinos in this wave. One of the sets will feature Rhinos as the leading force; Rhogon's Rock Flinger. I'm more disappointed by the lack of Bears, to be honest, although I guess a Fox set would likely be more unique. Daenerys Targaryen Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 As a Canuck, I must demand a Beaver set! Or at the very least, a Speedorz set with one of the Beaver characters! Quote
Chro Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 They're not bad in the TV show. They're not really anything in the TV show aside from stupid. That's not me being demeaning of Chima rhinos... they really are just that. XD Quote

Chro Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Lavertus. I think this is likely. I mean, his vehicle clearly resembles a lion, and Lavertus appears to be an important character if the set names are any indication... Quote
Bricknblue Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Why no more fox and skunk sets? I think that is weird. Quote
just2good Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 All About Bricks posted the same rumor list we got in August, but this time it has something interesting... New Small Boxed Sets – Legend Beasts70123 Lion 70124 Eagle 70125 Gorilla 70126 Crocodile 70127 Wolf We knew about the Legend Beasts sets, but I wonder what they mean by "small box". Maybe $7 sets like the Friends ones? Quote
