I don't like the Laval design at all. It has a certain quality that makes me think of drawings made with crayons and fingerpainting. The Saber looks quite imposing and interesting, however, partially decomposed and partially ice CHI-ified.

Dunno, while I dislike the Lions I find that outfit pretty cool looking (once again, it could be useful for Castle- Phoenix Knights of something like that?). I just hope it doesn't translate into a red and gold mess in the CHI figures.

Sir Fangar looks pretty cool as well. Are those..muscles showing? Pretty gory, nice!

Wow the saber toothed tiger looks very awesome on that pic. Hope the fangs on the final headmold will be sculpted not jsut painted. Looking at Laval he looks very awesome the red-orange color scheme fits him well, but he definetely need an armor or cape cuz he looks weird without those. Thanks for the picture CM4S!

Seeing as how you work for Lego, and you stated that the 1st half of 2015 is done, and you stated that the "real question is: will there be a year 4 (and 5..?)" I'm going to make one wild assumption, that we will be getting a wave 3. You said that waves 4 and 5 are unsure of, and I read that as "wave 3 isn't!" So tell me if I'm reading into this too much, because I believe we were just confirmed 2015 Chima sets, and if so, then that would be amazing! Thanks so much for being on the forums, you're the 3rd LEGO designer I've seen on the boards.

You are welcome. I felt somebody should let our CHIMA fans know that rumors of a cancellation are croc poo. Which automatically implies, with production cycles as they are, that 2015 CHIMA is being worked on right now. No news there, really.

However, you have to understand that I'm not posting as a spokesperson for LEGO in any capacity whatsoever (we got other guys for that job), just as a designer who is working on CHIMA and who got to be very mindful about what to tell you. No LEGO employee is allowed to discuss upcoming product until it is officially revealed, or to comment on leaked pictures, or drop hints.

That said, and since CHIMA was launched with a 3 year life span in mind (again, no news there), I believe I'm not leaning out of the window too far by confirming that, as far as I know, we are ready and happy to go the whole distance as long as CHIMA keeps selling the way it does. Plus maybe a lap of honor if the circumstances are right, but that's just little more than speculation on my part. In the end it's a business decision. While I indeed have a magic glowing CHI ball on my desk, I cannot see into the future either. So I'd suggest we all just keep doing what we're doing (you buying/me designing), and everything will be awesome ... ;)

I know some people seem to think it's weird, but I think the "exposed flesh" on the sabre-tooth tiger really adds a lot to the detailing of the minifigure.

I agree, though I expected him in a different color, have we seen images of the Phoenix's yet? Above posts imply so but I can't seem to find a place where they were posted.

The Phoenixes were barely visible in one of the catalogue shots of the Palace. Unsurprisingly they were similar to the Eagles, one was orange and the other light yellow.

Basic Mammoths. Awesome. Also we get Fire Worriz and Fire Razar. The walker design is really cool. Very AT-AT. The set also includes A vulture and a Saber-toothed Tiger. These sets look so much cooler  than the Outlands sets.

Oh my that mammoth walker is awesome! However the lion machine looks off át first sight. Although the box art is very nice on both. Thanks for the links.

 That Mammoth walker is superb! Very Zoid-y. Look at all that beautiful trans blue.....Definitely the highlight of 2014 across all ranges for me so far.

:classic:
