CM4Sci Posted January 26, 2014 Author Posted January 26, 2014 That mammoth set looks cool (pun intended) and I like how it has trans-light blue spider legs! That lion set though... What is that? -Sci Quote
krystalKING Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Laval's fire walker. I really like the Mammoth walker, it's much bigger than I thought, and we finally have a moderately good view of a Vulture! Quote
Bricktimus Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 (edited) Im not sure about all the trans-blue at the mo, but i'll reserve judgement until I see it properly. Im super excited for the rest of tge sets though! (especially the sabre tigers and vultures) (Edit: Sorry, I didn't notice the double post until now.) Edited January 27, 2014 by Bricktimus Quote
Shakar Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 (edited) Seems like the Mammoths are olive green and the Vultures (that's one attacking Razar, right?) are white. It's odd because the Sabretooth Tigers are white too (Fangar at least). Ah well, Gorzan was white black like the Ravens so I guess it can work, even on a Ultrabuild scale. EDIT: Grah, black! Not white. Edited January 26, 2014 by Shakar Quote
Aanchir Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 That mammoth set looks cool (pun intended) and I like how it has trans-light blue spider legs! That lion set though... What is that? -Sci They're not the same piece as the spider legs. They're a larger version that also appears in the Hero Factory set Queen Beast vs. Furno, Evo, and Stormer. I was wondering whether they'd show up in Chima and I guess I need not wonder any longer! Truly that mammoth walker is a beauty to behold. The giant fans and huge quantities of transparent light blue help give it a fantastic icy look. It is every bit as formidable as last year's Gorilla Striker, but instead of looking goofy it looks huge and formidable. The bony aesthetic also gives it a fearsome prehistoric vibe. Laval Fire Lion is a less traditional mech, but it is still elegant and imposing. It reminds me a bit of the Tarakava set from BIONICLE based on its structure. I wonder what kinds of functions it might boast. Overall the summer Chima sets are looking good from these preliminary pics, and I have no doubt the finalized versions will continue to impress. I was a bit unsure about the "fire and ice" theme (especially since it feels like we got very little time to enjoy the unique aesthetic of the latest "outlands" arc), but I definitely like the direction the summer sets will be taking things. TheLazyChicken Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 (edited) That set doesn't look that bad but the mammoth walker is better Edited January 26, 2014 by TheLazyChicken Quote

PenPlays Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 (edited) And here's our first Speedor set. (a very confusing one at that) (ninja'd by LazyChicken) Edited January 26, 2014 by Penkid11 Quote
Shakar Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 This is Fangar's Sabre Walker. Are those new claws on the Walker's front legs? I can't quite figure out the colour of the good guys' Chi. I'm heading towards tr. flame yellow, a relatively rare colour I'm very fond of and I'd like to see more of. Quote
just2good Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 (edited) New picture of the Phoenix Temple set! I've seen it in the catalog... It's pretty disappointing. I'd take the "MAT-AT" over it. The figures in it are Fluminox, Flinx, Foltrax, Tormak, Li'Ella, Stealthor, and Voom Voom. Edited January 26, 2014 by just2good Quote
CM4Sci Posted January 27, 2014 Author Posted January 27, 2014 Seen it in the catalog? Care to elaborate on that? -Sci Quote
krystalKING Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 My god, I take everything about rebuilding back. That has got to be one of the best non-lego movie air vehicles ever! I forgive the small walls, cause that thing is massive! Quote
just2good Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Here's a picture of the Ice Vulture set, provided by Lego Leaks Mexico! Now that set is... Quote
CM4Sci Posted January 27, 2014 Author Posted January 27, 2014 I know it's a vulture, but that neck is so ugly. I like it though. -Sci Quote
PenPlays Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 (edited) Here's a picture of the Ice Vulture set, provided by Lego Leaks Mexico! Now that set is... Wait... Li'Ella and Lundor? Are we finally getting our lady lions!?! That Vulture set is okay. Not the best, so there are plenty of sets higher up on the purchase list than that. New picture of the Phoenix Temple set! I've seen it in the catalog... It's pretty disappointing. I'd take the "MAT-AT" over it. The figures in it are Fluminox, Flinx, Foltrax, Tormak, Li'Ella, Stealthor, and Voom Voom. I'm LOVING that "Foenix" set (why "F" names? They should all start with "Ph"). The transformation remind me a bit of Mike Rayhawk's original concepts for the Castle of Morcia in Knights Kingdom II. Lordofdragonss Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Woah indeed that vulture machine is ugly! I love it! Quote
CM4Sci Posted January 27, 2014 Author Posted January 27, 2014 Wait... Li'Ella and Lundor? Neither of them are lions if you look. -Sci Quote
PenPlays Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 (edited) Neither of them are lions if you look. -Sci Male Lions, yes. Female Lions do not have manes, however. There are no other creatures (that I'm aware of) that look like that and also have a species name that starts with the letter "L." If those characters had names that began with "P" then clearly they would be Panthers, but they're not. Not to mention that Ella is a lady's name (with Li- prefix). Lundor would be considered gender neutral. EDIT: Also, in the phoenix set, what kind of species would Tormak be? His head mold resembles, Furty and Skinnet's, but that may be just the prelims getting to me. Edited January 27, 2014 by Penkid11 Quote
gedren_y Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 That Vulture set will be a must have for the reddish brown large wing pieces. Quote
Mandate Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Ugh, all of these make me want to throw up... no offense to those who like them. Quote
Shakar Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Are the Vultures using transparent wings and pink heads? Please let that be true and be kept in the final versions. CHI Vardy would be awesome if those things found their way in his set. And, I guess they finally made Lionesses because they thought it'd be a cool way to reuse the Panther tribe headpiece. Or it might be the other way around, but I doubt it (creating new tribes comes before creating new members of an existing one, I'd guess). Quote
