DraikNova Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Why are we assuming that a bird of all creatures has to look feminine? Do I have to make a really silly and rather immature pun about animal clades? Remarkably, the creature that looks the worst as a CHI figure, the vulture, looks like one of the best minifigs. In my opinion, the "main" animals keeping their colors for their heads clashes extremely and as a result of that, only the ice figures look nice, and only some of them, at that. The best ones, besides the vultures, are the mammoth bigfig and the saber-tooth-s. Quote
ch_ris127 Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 And here I am thinking that the wallet will be safe after the Outland Chima theme and LEGO Movie sets. Guess not. They're really going all out with Chima, I mean, two different themes with an explosion of new trbes in half a year? Whew! The summer line really looks cool though, especially the white Sabertooth minifig, Sir Fangar, if I'm not mistaken. Ultra-builds, anyone? Again, Sir Fangar looks the best even in ultra-build Here's the details from the London Toy Fair report, courtesy of TheBrickFan (http://www.thebrickf...ego-set-report/): System Sets Vardy Ice Vulture Glider (70141) – 217 pcs – $19.99 Eris Fire Eagle Flyer (70142) – 330 pcs – $29.99 Sir Fangar’s Sabre-tooth Walker (70143) – 415 pcs – $39.99 Laval Fire Lion (70144) – 450 pcs – $49.99 Maula’s Ice Mammoth Stomper (70145) – 604 pcs – $89.99 Flying Phoenix Fire Temple (70146) – 1301 pcs – $119.99 Speedorz Scorching Blades (70149) – 77 pcs – $12.99 Flaming Claws (70150) – 74 pcs – $12.99 Frozen Spikes (70151) – 77 pcs – $12.99 Lava Breakout (70152) – 59 pcs – $12.99 Fang Trap (70153) – 79 pcs – $12.99 Frozen Fortress (70154) – 58 pcs – $12.99 Inferno Pit (70155) – 74 pcs – $12.99 Fire vs. Ice (70156) – 102 pcs – $19.99 Ultrabuilds CHI Laval (70206) – 49 pcs – $14.99 CHI Cragger (70207) – 58 pcs – $14.99 CHI Panthar (70208) – 59 pcs – $14.99 CHI Mungus (70209) – 64 pcs – $14.99 CHI Vardy (70210) – 68 pcs – $14.99 CHI Fluminox (70211) – 91 pcs – $19.99 CHI Sir Fangar (70212) – 97 pcs – $19.99 Seems like we're getting a panther after all, considering there's a 'Panthar' in the Ultrabuilds. Any thoughts on the sets? The Fire Temple and Mammoth zoid Walker is definitely a must get for a lot But for the Fire Temple, I think it's definitely worth it -- you get the Sabertooth tank/hovercraft thrown in it too! Quote
Csacsa234 Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 The Ultra builds IMO are very weak, very ugly designs. The birds have very poorly built wings but my biggest disappointment is the mammoth. A mammoth supposed to be big but it's the smallest and those undetailed legs with the mashed up armor peices... I think Panthar looks the best, nice body, cool weapons too, shame we won't get him(/her?) in minifig. Laval and Cragger are nothing special, I think this orange color scheme doesn't fit Cragger. Sir fangar looks good too. Quote

Sir fangar looks good too. I definitely agree with you. Those other Ultrabuilds aside from Panthar and Sir Fangar look like...skeletons, to be frank. Look at how skeletal Vardy is! Fangar is the most complete-looking character with his cloak and bulky figure. You can see the personality flowing out of him. If only all the figures look just as complete...I wouldn't mind paying more for that. Quote
Aanchir Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Discussion of the constraction sets has been going on for a while in this topic. I have mixed feelings about them — in some respects they are cool and creative, but they feel a bit less cohesive than the designs of last year's Chima constraction sets, which could focus entirely on animal motifs and didn't have to couple those with elemental motifs and action features. They will be great parts packs for constraction builders, though, just as the previous Super Heroes and Chima constraction sets were. Quote
Starrocks923 Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 Does anyone in the U.S. have any of the Spring Speedorz or Legend Beasts yet? Did it come with a Legends of Chima Online power card to unlock in game powers? I'm pretty sure the U.S. sets will have them. Quote
krystalKING Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 I've checked everywhere Starrocks, none of the Spring Speedorz, sets, or legend beasts. I'm very disappointed about it. Quote
krystalKING Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Found a couple of the spring wave sets at Wal-mart. They are: Eagle legend beast Wolf legend beast Gorilla legend beast Lavertus' twin blade Sparratus spider striker Sky Launch Quote

They are: Eagle legend beast Wolf legend beast Gorilla legend beast Lavertus' twin blade Sparratus spider striker Sky Launch In the US? I hope we'll get them in Canada soon too. At least on Shop@home since we'll get some bonus Ewar too <3 March 1 and onwards Would be perfect timing money-wise :3 Quote
Csacsa234 Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Hmm it's strange I live in europe and we got all sets in january from the 1st wave, but I can't find the new Speedorz anywhere. Quote

If they had a Chima exclusive for March, it likely would have been one of the Outlands figures, as they are the spring wave. Quote
Mikuri Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 For every 75$ yes but there's a bonus for Chima orders too <3 Quote
gedren_y Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 I got that one last year. I have two of the fig because I bought the set as well. I'm betting those were over produced. Quote

And I do agree with you, it seems like some good timing. PS: Ending up buying the Eagle Legend beast and Sky Launch, the new Eris is awesome. Quote

They are: Eagle legend beast Wolf legend beast Gorilla legend beast Lavertus' twin blade Sparratus spider striker Sky Launch My Wal-Mart was similar, with Rogon's Rock Flinger as well. No Gorilla Legend Beast or Sky Launch, but they had Bat Strike, Banana Bash and Web Dash. I bought the Eagle and Wolf Legend Beasts. They come with Power Cards for the Legends of Chima Online game. If you guys get any power cards from the Speedorz sets, please post up close photos so I can try to scan them! Quote

I've bought Scorm's scorpion stinger, gorilla legend beast and the spider striker some time ago but none had cards. Is it something in the instruction manuals? Quote

Yeah, but this time it's free and since I'll be ordering whole Chima spring wave, I'll get a few ones :) For army building you know. Ewar is like the most generic eagle with Equila, so it's perfect. Edit: New speedorz sets don't have cards in them, they wouldn't fit with the old ones (because of tribes req's on the cards). Edited February 12, 2014 by Mikuri Quote

Is it something in the instruction manuals? No, not in the manual. I bought these in the U.S. and all the Legend Beast sets I saw had them. The iPhone photo is too big to upload, but they are basically cards that are used with Legends Of Chima Online. Edited February 12, 2014 by Starrocks923 Quote

Lxz Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 (edited) Toy Ark has tons of new pics for Chima! That is really TONS of new pics and the speedorz seem to be completely remade. Edited February 16, 2014 by Lxz Quote
Mikuri Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 (edited) Wow thanks for the link :)! The Fire/Ice speedorz looks a bit weird, they have their faces on it. Not as nice as the oldest sadly. And a weird seat, they stand up this time Oo, I wonder how the balance will be affected. We also have a few new parts, like the rocks, in white and dark red/reddish brown. The new 3L trans-bar with mixed colors in it are nice too. It adds a nice fire effect in the swords. But overall the minifigures are awesome. Gotta get'em all! But I think there's a bit too many "specialty parts", like the big mammoth horns. They are a bit harder for your general Moc to be included and those sets have lots of big parts like those. Kinda meh to me since if you take the Lion Chi temple, you have LOTS of bricks and usefull parts. That's the only downside I have with this summer wave. And maybe the amount of trans-bricks which might be too high too. Edited February 16, 2014 by Mikuri Quote
gedren_y Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 In one of the images there appears to be a hinged rock that also uses a rubber band. http://news.toyark.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2014/02/Toy-Fair-2014-LEGO-Chima-024.jpg Quote
PenPlays Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 (edited) Those Speedorz are... eh... They did need an update, but this wasn't exactly what I had in mind. Also another thing to point out is that Panthar does not have a minifig! Perhaps he'll be included in Cragger's Fire Striker. This theme is now lower on my 'buy' list. Agents, Ninjago, and The Lego Movie are just too amazing to miss! EDIT: It also appears that three Speedorz sets were not shown at the Toy Fair Edited February 16, 2014 by Penkid11 Quote
Village80 Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Speedorz, yuk! Ice glider, pretty ugly but minifigs make it worth getting. I was already sold on the Mammoth and Fire Temple from earlier pics, they still look cool. The Laval vehicle looks much nicer in that picture though. I might be tempted, plus it has the bigfig. Sir Fangar's walker is a bit of a mess and I'm still not sold on the red uniforms for the old characters like Cragger Quote
DraikNova Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 In one of the images there appears to be a hinged rock that also uses a rubber band. That was the first thing I pointed out once we got the really early prelims . Too many specialized pieces in this wave for my taste. Quote
