Lordofdragonss Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 (edited) New speedors look like the animals unleash their souls haha. They indeed look bad, the previous were great as a toys and additionto sets. These are ugly and are not real vechicle... But that's great. I will buy only one set. the awesome big one... But now I will have to decide WHICH ONE Edited February 16, 2014 by Lordofdragonss Quote
ijffdrie Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 This the full range of the upcoming sets, or is there a chance we'll get some legend animals as well? I loved those sets =D Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 The Speedorz looks like throw-up...soo bad! Quote
Aanchir Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 This the full range of the upcoming sets, or is there a chance we'll get some legend animals as well? I loved those sets =D I don't think we'll get any more legend beasts this year, but there could certainly be more next year if this year's Legend Beasts sell really well. And I can't imagine why they wouldn't. They're great models at a great price. Quote
DraikNova Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Using the Outland and reanimated creatures for Legend Beasts could work really well. The spider and scorpion sets would need to be marketed at a higher pricepoint, though, as the legs would require a lot of joints. Quote

Fun animal plus great minifig for a low price. Using the Outland and reanimated creatures for Legend Beasts could work really well. The spider and scorpion sets would need to be marketed at a higher pricepoint, though, as the legs would require a lot of joints. The ones I'd really like to see are rhino and raven. Quote
Mikuri Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 (edited) Using the Outland and reanimated creatures for Legend Beasts could work really well. The spider and scorpion sets would need to be marketed at a higher pricepoint, though, as the legs would require a lot of joints. Why's that? I mean, it's not like they can adjust the model to fit the price. The eagle for exemple has 6 wings. And the more I look at those Speedorz, the less I'm interested in them. The minifigures are nice as always but the rest is meh... So many specialized and trans parts. I have a hard time including those in MOCs. My opinion on the others sets for the summer wave: - Laval's Fire Lion: I was scared at first, it was weird looking for me. But what we saw the first time the picture leaked, was a standing lion, with a empty-ness body, a bit like the Royal Tank of Lagravis. Seemed unfinished. But it was in Fire Chi mode, the standard form was a more bulky one, and way more appealing. In the end, the set gives some new parts, in flamish colors, a exclusive big fig (OMG LOVE IT!) and a few technic parts of interest to me, like the red tank track and some links 8L I think. I'll buy this set most likely if the money's there :P - Vardy's Ice Vulture Glider: A yellow-ish figure and a purple-ish Vulture. Those might be my favorites minifigures along with Sir Fangar. Back to the set, I don't know if they are dark brown or black, but I would like brown wings for sure. Not too much trans parts, yay! Overall the Glider looks "ok" not much hype for it. But the small build is filled with good parts, like every one in it lol. My verdict: 2 awesome minifigures, perfect mini-build and a "ok" glider with a few good parts. With a nice price, I'll buy this one for sure. - Eris Fire Eagle Flyer: The Saber-tooth tribe is a nice addition, lovely helmets! I like Lagravis in red. Eris in red is a bit weird, but welcomed for variety. The model now. I don't know. The interceptor was a lovely set, one of the best vehicules in the first waves. This "remake" is a bit sad. There's so many colors in it, gosh. It also doesn't give me the same cool vibe as the original. For parts it seems there's a new flick-fire missile launcher, or so it seems to me. The flames are nice, and maybe some wings in brown/redish-brown too? I don't know what to think of this set. So it is low on the buy list. And maybe I'll simply BrickLink the figs or wait for it to be in sales at 30%+ off. - Sir Fangar Saber-Tooth Walker: First thing would be SIR FANGAR <3 And next would be lots of trans blue damn :( At first, with all those joints, it looks like a Hero Factory/Ultrabuild figure. Why not reuse the joints of the Eagle Interceptor? I don't know, but to my taste I would have prefer those for the whole model. Overall the model comes with parts in colors I lack, so it's nice, trans-blue aside. But the finished product is very well done and looks great. I'll buy this one! - Maula's Ice Mammoth Stomper: THIS IS THE SET! The trans-blue parts are somehow better, except maybe the horns in so much quantity (but needed for the nice looking body when the top flies away) but the windscreens are easy to put reuse in MOCs so it's fine for this set. Every Ice minifigures are more then awesome and the Fire minifigures are ok, could have been better. The build is amazing, looks terrific and strong, no one would like to stand in front of this mammoth! The parts seems nice overall, except the head which is a dead part to me ¬¬. This set is the one I want first. I'M LOVIN'IT! - Flying Pheonix Fire Temple: FIrst thging I notice is the specialized parts. The Saber-Tooth vehicule is pretty much ok. But why is that Saber-Tooth minifigure riding it has clips on it's back? Oo Anyway, I don't like the Saber-Tooth mini-vehicule very much, but I guess it's fine and I'll end up liking it when it'll be in my hands. Maybe it's because the Mammoth is way more amazing :P The wall excluding the Flying Pheonix is perfect. Only great parts, can't ask for better and it looks nice. The Flying pheonix now, good parts (except a few specialized parts that I'll probably end up selling) and a nice mecanism.Red/Dark-red/Tan are nice colors and makes the parts way more worth it to me. That thing is also huge, that's a big flying machine! And one of the most positive point of this set: The minifigures. I LOVE THEM ALL. All of them are awesome, new small wings, new feline tribes, new armor for the Pheonix leader and a mini-phoenix, he's so cute! So yeah... This set is a must buy. Along with the mammoth. I won't tell my first impressions on speedorz sets since they most likely won't get in my house. Except maybe the minifigures via BrickLink. What do you guys think about each sets? And on a side note: The winter wave (with Bats/Scorpions) finally hits the Lego S@H in Canada/USA. But I recommand waiting for March 1 to order them with the Ewar bonus for every 75$+ orders :P (In Canada, the whole wave is about 450$ so that's 6 Ewar freebie if divided accordingly). Cheers! gedren_y Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Going over the Summer wave again two sets have a new part. The second one might even have two new parts. http://news.toyark.c...O-Chima-033.jpg http://news.toyark.c...O-Chima-034.jpg Quote
Aanchir Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Going over the Summer wave again two sets have a new part. The second one might even have two new parts. http://news.toyark.c...O-Chima-033.jpg http://news.toyark.c...O-Chima-034.jpg There are LOADS of new parts in these sets. The small claws on the feet of that sabertooth vehicle, the claw weapon in the hands of the sabertooth in the eagle set (and on the back of the sabertooth vehicle), the flame piece used for the weapons in both sets, and the icy foundation to trap minifigures in both sets. I'm assuming you're referring to some of those? Or did you notice another one entirely? Quote
gedren_y Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 The ice trap pieces seem to be in only those two sets. How did I miss that flame piece? Wonderful. Now if it would only come in one of the green colors. The eagle set display appears to be missing a piece from the beak. Look at the box in the wider shot. I actually used a modified version of that beak design for an upcoming GOH build. Quote
Takanuinuva Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 The new speedorz appear to have a new piece that attaches to the side. The black piece. http://news.toyark.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2014/02/Toy-Fair-2014-LEGO-Chima-023.jpg Quote
PenPlays Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Having already mentioned how drab the Speedorz are for the Summer, the weapons in these Speedorz sets are lame (i.e. 1x1 cone on a stick). The cards and minifigs themselves are going to be the only reason for me to get these things it seems. Quote
krystalKING Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 The new Speedorz scare the living daylights out of me! Anyway, on the Phoenix temple, there's two buttons, red and green, in universe, what the heck is that supposed to do? The Fire Eagle looks semi-interesting, especially the fire eyes. Quote
just2good Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Opened my first 2014 Speedorz set- the Stinger Duel! Overall, while I really do like the figures in this set, it's really disappointing that Shadowind doesn't come with his helmet. The price isn't bad as you do get two exclusive minifigures, but the build is pretty small and the game is extremely easy. Quote
Village80 Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Love the Scorpions! The stinger dual is on my list of those sets I'll grab as soon as the price drops a bit. Quote
Wardancer Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Is that a white lion or a white sabertooth? Awesome fig! Quote
TheRedGuy Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 (edited) Maybe the new Speedorz are designed so that you could knock each other off? The new Speedorz packages have "Build>race>battle" on the bottom instead of just "Build race>win" that the current wave has. Edited February 18, 2014 by TheRedGuy Quote

The set I'll be trying to get is Web Dash. It's definitely my favorite Speedor set from this wave. (Especially because of Sparratus. ) Edited February 18, 2014 by Lego Spy Quote
Dr.Cogg Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Spinlyn Cavern is now available on lego.com http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Spinlyn-s-Cavern-70133?fromListing=listing Quote
Csacsa234 Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Opened my first 2014 Speedorz set- the Stinger Duel! I'm still waiting for that to be released here (the last summer waves speedors were released only 1 months ago in Hungary ), that's the only set that contains Scorpion and I don't have. I want to collect all of them and the Shadowind figure is beautiful, thx for the post. Quote
Wardancer Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 The back of shadowwinds torso could be a nice Addition to the current evil castle faction. Quote

Three of the hardest to find minifigs of 2013 and the flagship set exclusive red spiders! Now this is a battlepack I would buy. Edited February 19, 2014 by Penkid11 Quote
DraikNova Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 (edited) Spinlyn's Cavern and other exclusives are already available in the Netherlands, although they're ironically enough missing from the equivalent of ToysRUs. EDIT: BZPower's pictures show that we're getting a new flame piece that can fit into a sword, so that's nice. Sorry I couldn't resize the picture. Edited February 19, 2014 by DraikNova Quote
