Posted August 17, 201311 yr Hello guys and gals hope we are all doing well! So my question is this... Having built one of if not the most awesome rc models; the zorex 220 by the genius that is jurgen, and having moc'd that to have the 42006 scrap grab, I got to thinking.... What it needs now is a truck and trailer to transport it on... Does anyone have any tips for building a suitably stable and practical trailer given the size and weight of the thing I've nicknamed the beast!? And a tractor cab to pull it? I have been toying with the idea of turning 9397 logging truck into the tractor cab, but not too sure where to start when it comes to shortening the chassis, building a working 5th wheel and the trailer itself... I've seen some stuff on brickshelf like twoofives trailer for example, but any advice from people who have made something like that Thanks in advance guys, your geniuses in your own right ;)
August 17, 201311 yr Well you could always look at Designer Han's lowloader for inspiraton http://rebrickable.c...hable-lowloader Do you bother to read all the reply's before you post a reply to a topic?
August 17, 201311 yr Author Try designer Han's low-loader. Thanks alasdair, it's one I had considered and one I will most likely look to use, I'm just not sure if it will be wide enough for the beast seeing as I worked it out to be a whopping 22 studs wide...

August 17, 201311 yr Author Definately looking foreward to seeing your truck and trailer for the Zorex-220. Wow thanks jurgen, appreciate that...might take some time, I don't be alot of time to build with work n I got some personal stuff going on At the moment but il try n let u know how it goes...
August 17, 201311 yr Hi folks - just joined to reply to gevans12 post to say I just did this same thing. After building the 8043B dozer I was looking for a truck and trailer combo to haul it. I started with the 9397 for the truck with only minor mods. To shorten the chassis, I moved the "fuel tanks" under the cab doors, pulled the rear wheels in front of the geared wheel set, then removed the rear box girder (for lack of a better term). I also pulled out the battery pack, all the gears and supports for the loading arm and the log retention beams. I built a "lowboy" trailer freehand based on an Eager Beaver design. However, it needs serious reworking as it's not strong enough to hold the 8043B without considerable flexing in the frame. Here's a small photo of the set up.
