October 30, 201311 yr I'd bet towards a single M motor: its functions don't appear demanding enough to require L or even XL.
October 30, 201311 yr I'd bet towards a single M motor Dat's a safe bet. I guess I can bet that too. lol
October 30, 201311 yr No more lol Anio, is it REALLY better than 8855? It is awesome. Technically speaking, we have seen some more impressive sets (42009, recently), but still, the cargo plane is really a lot of fun, with simple and realistic controls. So yes, it is way better imo.
October 31, 201311 yr Love the airplane aswell. I really like planes and helicopters, 9396 was a nice set, and to me it seems 42025 has more functionality. Would like it to come without PF, since i already own a lot of m-motors and batteryboxes. (but it probably won't) If you combine 42025 and 42020 you can make a nice 4 prop plane. Maybe a nice project when i own one.
October 31, 201311 yr I am also looking forward to building the plane! It will probably be even better than the 9396.
October 31, 201311 yr I am also looking forward to building the plane! It will probably be even better than the 9396. I don´t know... the 9396 was a master piece in my opinion.
October 31, 201311 yr I don´t know... the 9396 was a master piece in my opinion. True that. I am one of the biggest 9396 fans (own 3 copies). So you're saying my expectations of the plane might be too high?!
October 31, 201311 yr True that. I am one of the biggest 9396 fans (own 3 copies). So you're saying my expectations of the plane might be too high?! Just sorted 2x9396 sets to parts. Are you sure I have to build it before parting out? Edited October 31, 201311 yr by rm8
October 31, 201311 yr Just sorted 2x9396 sets to parts. Are you sure I have to build it before parting out? It's not the build that's very spectacular. It's the end result that counts for this model. But I do have a love for planes and helicopters. The decision is up to you
October 31, 201311 yr It's not the build that's very spectacular. It's the end result that counts for this model. But I do have a love for planes and helicopters. The decision is up to you For me the building process was awesome - in terms of fun I would place it right behind the 8258. There are few cool techniques that I have not seen before (having built 8110, 8258, 8285, 41999). So it is fun AND good-looking :). My only concern regarding the plane is that it will be too similar to 9396 in terms of how building process looks.

My only concern regarding the plane is that it will be too similar to 9396 in terms of how building process looks. Don't get me wrong; I had fun building the helicopter as well, but I can imagine that it's not the most spectacular build in terms of functionality. I had in mind that rm8 is not the average Joe My only concern regarding the plane is that it will be too similar to 9396 in terms of how building process looks. This might very well be true. Hope the rest of the model makes up for this.
October 31, 201311 yr the plane [...] will be too similar to 9396 in terms of how building process looks. It is. They are however not from the same designer.
October 31, 201311 yr I think that 42023 would go great with 42004, especially with those boulders to scoop! I do hope they change the loader a bit, though - it looks too much like 8453 from 2003. Edited October 31, 201311 yr by Maaboo35
October 31, 201311 yr I am already imagining the swooshing motions (and sounds) I will make with the plane.
October 31, 201311 yr i really wonder about construction crew b model.. united one model or each three models??
October 31, 201311 yr So what new parts -not new colors- are in what sets? Wheels in the truck Suspension arms in the snowmobile ...?
October 31, 201311 yr Whats different in the tires? Irs just the 30,4 wheel right? Tire has higher profile.
October 31, 201311 yr Tire has higher profile. And a different tread pattern, don't forget. Also, we have the 5L axle with stop, and a new type of pin, like the existing axle pin, but with the pin side 1 stud longer. And, after some careful evaluation of the pictures, we have some possibilities of new parts. I say possibilities because the art is after all, preliminary. 42022 Hot rod may have new pieces as the exhaust tips, and right at the front of the engine might be a new type of pin as well. But given the other errors on the box, this seems unlikely. The snowmobile has the new suspension arms, and a new steering knuckle to go with them. The cargo plane has the new 3x11 panels. These are just my observations, there was also a write up on TBs that got deleted with more info, although that disappeared, and I can't find a cached version.
November 1, 201311 yr Whats different in the tires? Irs just the 30,4 wheel right? It's like a small Unimog tire. I my opinion it's a very welcome addition.
November 1, 201311 yr Here is my version of the 42020. i know some parts may be in wrong places because if you look closely the bottom picture model is quite different from the main one. So combining those pictures and adding some TLG logic (less parts if possible) i came up with a small replica and here it is.. 42020.lxf
November 1, 201311 yr How many pieces have you used?, 442 for the Lego set it seems to me a bit strange...
