I'm definitely going to pass on this. Although I have no idea what it is, and I haven't seen the design, I definitely don't like it. Whatever TLG have done, it's not to my taste, and there's definitely too much yellow.

EDIT, deleted some stuff that would get me a mod warning, again. Let's just say that yellow flagships are not new, nor particularly more common now than any time since 1977. Check out Brickset http://www.brickset..../?theme=Technic has got boring' does not stack up, unless you fancy a trip back to the glory days of 'Slizers'. No?

Suggestion: each year start two threads, '20xx rumours' and '20xx bitching'. I've got zero interest in trying to stop people slagging TLG's set roster, but it's tedious trying to sort the actual rumours from the 'me too' comments and complaints. It's an off-topic problem imho, do it in another thread. Probably every sub-theme forum would benefit from this.

Also, why is 2014 Technic missing Police and Fire sets? :classic:

Offtopic but have to give you a thumbs up for this post. My thoughts exactly.

Mods could do some serious cleanup in this thread, starting with my post.

Exactly my thoughts

Meaning what?

He's just following the rumors.

Exactly. I dont have any new information except for what was posted here. I just needed name to go with (known) set number on my list.

Regarding the set: I took out my motorized 8265 and put on Unimog wheels tires. It looks ok, but it also looks correct in size, so I doubt it will be much bigger. Number of pieces and the look of original model suggest that it might be much more beefier. Looking at it, it is also obvious that larger shovel was really needed. Small one on the 8265 was really out of scale (it was even photoshoped) on cover photo to make it look bigger.

Size of the 42009/9398/8110 Flagship boxes is 57.5 x 48 x 9 cm

Size of the 10224 Town Hall set (as Conchas mentioned) is 48 x 58 x 12.5 cm

Difference is in thickness. I think new bucket is about more than 9 cm height

42030 box will be the same size as the other flagship boxes, but thicker..

Not another construction yard yoke... I was excited to hear its RC, but please, not another thing with a big shovel on a boom...

Okay, what would you like? I'd personally like to see one of those advanced Nooteboom low loaders, or an extensible trailer. Thing is, kids like construction vehicles, which is why there are so many in the Technic line.

Especially the grown up kids who modify it with extra motors and later release own instructions manual.

I would peraonally find it interesting to see some kind of truck but with a trailer; a lowloader or something. Teuck doesn't have to be huge, they could design somwthing to put on the trailer as well, a car with various functions.

A lowloader would be fun with RC, but I don't see it have many functions, just drive a bucket. It wpuld need to have something really special with it to make it appealing, otherwise I wouldn't buy it. I have enough yellow already.

I would honestly LOVE to see a Rerelease of RC Buggies as a Technic set with a Proper Powerful Motors as we got in RC buggies.

I wont be wrong to say that a Majority on Technic lovers Love doing RC stuff. Making a good flagship with all in stuff like that and a cool RC buggy would REALLY make me a Happy Panda.

Whatever it will be, I just really hope its not going to be god damn Yellow too.

I love the construction equipment, I've not been in the game long so I never had a chance to buy many of the construction sets you guys seem to loathe seeing repeated... I'm not going to blow 270 bucks on a loader that sold for 90 originally, or 500+ for a bulldozer... which is why we will see the same thing rehashed, so the next generation has a chance at getting one.

My son only plays with construction themed legos, i'm sure there are many just like him! hopefully they don't have pnuematics, boy those are a disappointment on the unimog. A nice loader will certainly be found under my tree if it exists, RC preferably!

I actually don't mind that LEGO is doing another front loader, or that another piece of construction equipment is this years flagship. If LEGO is going to keep to the ~200usd price for flagship models, I don't see them offering much more than 4 motors in a RC set. This means a max of 6 functions, which doesn't leave TLG with many options.

People on here expect LEGO to build super complex model, like Sheepo's Land Rover, but most people won't pay $500+ for a set. I know I won't. I think we need to be a bit more realistic with our expectations.

Regarding the front loader, I probably won't buy it because I don't need the motors or a bunch more yellow liftarms. However, if I were just getting back into LEGO, I'd jump all over this set. All the motors would come in handy.

Just my $.02.

At least for me this set sounds far more interesting than 9398.

That was just a 4x4, remote controlled. No functions. (no steering, no engine)

This one will have the same amount of PF and RC, but also some nice functions to play with.

And I hope there will be more, like a fake engine and something unexpected.

That it will be a license hopefully doesn't mean we have to pay for it aswell...

Pneumatics work great in the unimog so I'm not sure where u got that notion.

4 motors can be used to power 12 functions... :sadnew: See my Liebherr MOC thread for proof of that. So a 6 function limit is not really due to the motors. Pricetag might become an issue though. You'll need a lot of gears & axles to bring the functions to the right places in the model (I used 176 gears in the superstructure+boom and I really tried to minimize the number of them).

But suppose you would use the functions to operate pneumatic switches... Twelve independent RC controlled pneumatic functions... *huh* Still a huge pricetag though

A garbage truck would be great.

I'll wait to share my options about H2 until more information comes. I was not very excited about 42021 until I actually saw detailed pictures of the parts. Likewise for 8069.

Does anyone else suspect we may see the new suspension components used in the much-speculated-upon Creator Mini Cooper model that is expected later in 2014? Model team redux?

Considering that it will be a heavy brick built construction, I would say the chances are very slim.. I imagine that it will be similar to the Beetle that came out a few years back...
