February 18, 201411 yr I like the bulldozer. Thanks for those two videos. I find the placement of the mLA on the the pickup odd. It seems weird how the mLA contracts to make the bed go up, rather than extend to make the bed go up. I wonder why TLG did that.
February 19, 201411 yr Made this yesterday I think it's close to 99% accurate, the only thing I wasn't sure about was the front grille, and some bracing just below the engine (I used two grey 3x3 T-beams, but it doesn't look like that's what TLG did). Measures in at just over 600 parts total. Will build it in bricks come friday, and post some pictures and impressions.
February 19, 201411 yr Sure thing, here you go! Please share if you figure out what pieces are used in the front grille Edit> Also, be aware, this set uses several of the new 3L axle pins, which have been replaced by 3L DBG ordinary axles in the .lxf. Also, the rear wormdrive should be a new type, or use a longer axle) Edited February 19, 201411 yr by D3K
February 19, 201411 yr Good job. Definitely no room for a battery box here. However : - the 16t is still curious - in a video, we can clearly see a tan 20t at the back (maybe the person who built the model put the frame in the wrong way ? thus, the 20t is at the back and the wheels of the exposed model are not connected to the engine)
February 19, 201411 yr Good job! I believe the grille uses Technic Gear Rack 1x7 part no. 87761. I like it - it is small and simple but still looks nice.

Yeah, at first I thought the engine was two studs lower than the differential, and that was the cause of the 16 tooth gears, but that is not the case... Mystery... Because there is definately two 16tooth gears there.. And the 20 tooth bevel gear behind the diff..? No clue.. If it is intentional, than the only use I can think of is for a PTO in the rear, but that makes little sense. Probably a miss from the builder, like you suggest. Maybe TLG is planning to finally release a PF-S motor, along with an XS rechargeable LiPo battery? One can only hope Good job! I believe the grille uses Technic Gear Rack 1x7 part no. 87761. I like it - it is small and simple but still looks nice. That actually makes a lot of sense! Of course! Four of them, side by side! Thanks a lot! Will update have updated the LDD file ! February 19, 201411 yr I don't mean to hijack the topic, will make a separate one when I've built it in real bricks.. I think I found the solution to the unexplained gears: Since the axle connection point for the crank shaft is 1/2 stud inside the engine, it has to be done this way. A 6L axle directly from the engine to the diff 20 tooth gear would interfere with the differential itself. A 5L axle would only sit halfway in to the 20 tooth gear. Using a 5,5L axle with stop, like I originally did, would require forcing it (ever so slightly) into place in the 5 x 7 frame. This also explains the 3L pin with pin hole in the rear, that you can see in the films. **updated LDD file**
February 19, 201411 yr Please share if you figure out what pieces are used in the front grille Judging by the frame of the video, in the front grille a used piece # 4562009: Rack 7 M x 4. Edited February 19, 201411 yr by Vicont45
February 19, 201411 yr Yes, it is now certain that the model is built the way you did. That is logical. I had something like that in mind with my suggestion of the M motor and 2 speeds, but well, now I see how the model is structured, I really doubt motorization with 8293 is a possibility. I see no pin holes available to plug easily a M motor. As for the battery box... no comment. edit : +1 for racks
February 19, 201411 yr D3K, stunning job ;) explains a lot! maybe it still can be motorized by replacing the fake v4 - thats the only place where a motor would fit ;) and i still believes that the 4 red pins inside the chassi (from bottom view) could be battery box mounts. BTW, you know how many pieces you used? my first estimation was approx 300-350 but now when we can see more details it looks to be 400+ for sure Edited February 20, 201411 yr by GoldVillage
February 21, 201411 yr Anyone noticed the new Technic pieces on some of the Chima sets presented at the Toy Fair? Take a look at for example this picture. The black things attaching the flames/claws to the speedor. I've been dreaming of that piece for years Really nice find.. Dreamed of them too, long ago... that´s absolutely fabolous... Spotted 2 of them on 5 "chima racers" Sets. Mechanicly i´d like to agree its really a pin with hole combination of this part: http://www.bricklink...tem.asp?P=87082 , Its the only way these sets makes sense in a playful way, because these racers have to be sent through / over an obstacle course or fetch items with clapping hands. This wouldn´t work if it were an axle end instead of a pin end. In black its also usable everywhere. Awesome, i am really looking forward to this part. Edited February 21, 201411 yr by TBS
February 21, 201411 yr I don't think the new piece in the Chima set has a pin on it. It looks like a new piece with a 1L bar.
February 21, 201411 yr I have seen this part at a leg of the new at-at and was definetly in a pinhole
February 21, 201411 yr You guys are talking about the black piece that the claw (or whatever it is) is attached to, right? It looks like the same diameter as the other bars in the set, but maybe having the claws attached to it makes it look smaller. Effe, if you say you've seen this in person, then I believe you. Maybe they have two version of this part, one with a pin and with a 1L bar? I dunno. I'm getting old, so maybe my eyes are just playing tricks on me.
February 22, 201411 yr Pin hole with a 1L bar? That sounds like a pretty much useless part if you ask me, compared to a pin hole with a 1L pin.

February 22, 201411 yr Another great piece for the Technic family, I can get a couple of them cutting their bigger brothers , just kidding but now I need a few for my F40... .
February 22, 201411 yr I hope it is not. I don't like the idea of releasing these basic parts just to make the design easier. It is part of the challenge, to solve something without pieces like this.
