I think the construction crew will be a tipper van, maybe with a small crane at the back?

I hope the container truck will be in a big scale. :classic:

I also think the racers will be pull back, but I think that the twin rotor helicopter could be the biggest 1st half set, just like 42000 from this year. Using the blades from 9396 maybe?

Container truck - hopefully a medium sized truck with mini-LA container cranes and an empty container (actually a container made with red 5x11 panels would be cool!)

Also, 42023 with re-released Technic figures would be AMAZING!

If it's the flagship then it most likely will. Container trucks are cool and can be really versatile with all the different. But if we are talking about 8057 then that is often called a hook lift truck. When i tried searcing for real vehicles i mostly found things that look more like the B-model from 42009. Have a look. http://www.dreamstime.com/stock-image-container-truck-image16369951 That would still be nice and seriously big if made in the right scale but nowhere as much fun as a hook lift truck.

The only thing that "crew" tells me, is a bunch of people working with something. I don't know any other meaning of the word. I guess that's why I can't figure out what the set will be  given that this info is 100 % real.

I wonder if flex axles will return..?

Black 19L :)

Do you remember one of the last interviews with designers about 9398 at TB? They tell that new wheels will be released soon. Very interesting: which set introduces new wheels?

Twin rotor heli- something like B- model of 9398 or Chinook CH47...

Probably these are the ones introduced with 41999?

I hope the Container Truck is the largest set, with the larger size it should have more potential to be something really interesting, like a side-loading container truck, instead of just a rejig of 8052 (which is a good model, but I want to see something a bit different).

I'm also quite curious about Construction Crew. I have the horrible feeling it will end up being a collection of small vehicles, with none having anything more complicated than a worm-screw lift type mechanism going for it. But, TLG has surprised us in the past and I guess they can do that again :classic:

(Slightly bummed not to see a forklift/telehandler type vehicle, but there's always the 2H).

I'm can give you all a little glimpse of 2014

42020 Twin-Rotor Helicopter - It's a small set, circa £9.99 it's like a chinook helicopter, uses shot blades only about 8 studs long per blade, both sets of blades rotate, but that's about it. It's blue and black in colour, maybe 4- studs wide by 16 studs long.

42021 Snowmobile - It's a small/medium 1st half set, black and lime green in colour, maybe £20 - £25 at a guess, only technic functions appear to be steering, front suspension, and a rear track, can't see if there is a lego engine or not, but I suspect there might be a little 2 cylinder one.

42022 Hot Rod - This was almost model team quality in terms of looks, maybe a £35 set, has a V6 lego engine up front, the hot rod is blue in colour, and the front half (engine and steering is light blue grey). Nice looking set, but again limited technic functions

42023 Construction Crew - This is a nice set, although slightly lacking compared to what people are hoping. It's a set with no figures (sorry to disappoint). It's a set made up of three construction vehicles, all 3 models are about 20 studs in length by about 8 - 10 studs wide. There is a 6 wheel american style dump truck, blue big rig shape cab, light grey tipper, functions appear to be steering and tipping. There is a red excavator, looks to have minimal functions, maybe 1 [/font]dig/lift function and finally a yellow loader, on a similar scale to 8453, maybe a tad smaller. I think this is a nice mixed set, with a likely price range of £49.99

42024 Container Truck - This is the highlight of the sets (possibly not including the special set which is normally added later) It's a European style Skip Truck, 6 wheels, similar scale (wheel size) to the flatbed truck of the other year. It has a Yellow Cab, Red lifting arms and comes with a Blue Skip. Likely also a £49.99 set. Power functions can be added but are not included. It's functions appear to be steering, and loading the skip. I guess you will be able to tip the skip as well. No sign of an engine. Looks like the truck below, but imagine with a yellow cab and the blue bits are red.

42026 Black Champion Racer. This is a simple £9.99 pull back racer

42027 Desert Racer. This is a simple £9.99 pull back racer

Overall an average start to the year, nice to see more blue parts in next years lineup.

Thanks for the info. It could be that the 1H2014 "flagship" will be released in March 2014 (as opposed to Jan 2014 for the models above). Details of this "flagship" probably won't be forthcoming for a few more months. Of course, there are those European Toy Shows in February that allows for sneak-peaks (and spy photos) of the 2H2014 sets.....

Great to hear about blue being used for so many sets!

Technic version of this perhaps?

It's exactly that set, V6 up front, yellow pistons, and it uses light blue grey 2x2 round dish for the headlights.

Really? So is it Technic elements or system or both?

Ugh, disappointing preview of the the 2014H1 sets. But thanks for all the info Paul. I was hoping for something that will wow me like a 24" submarine!

Still hope with the £100 TRU/Argos 1st half exclusive set (we hope)

42023 Construction Crew

I wonder if Lego will re-issue the Technic minifigs?

I was thinking the exact same thing. Too bad paul_delahaye brought us back to reality

42020 - my hope is that this is something like grohl's manta helicopter (since he works for lego now, and since he's an awesome designer)

The helicopter uses blades which look like this part http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=62743 I felt in the catalogue picture they looked shorter than 16L, but I could be wrong, it uses 3 on each of the 2 rotor assemblies. (e.g. front and back)
