Junpei Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Yeah, that's what I did with 4L stop axles. I bought 40 of them, which apparently is just enough, I only have 4 of them left. Quote

Junpei Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 I don't know, stuff. They run out faster than you think, especially when you're building something big. Quote

Paul Boratko Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Here is the cost of most of the new parts if anyone is interested... Dogbone Frame: .49 <- I expected this to be more 3L long axle pin: .17 5L axle with stop: .16 New worm gear: .41 3 x 11 white panel: $1.36 Suspension Arm: .63 New Hub: .28 New Linkage: .72 <-This seem high for this small part Quote
Junpei Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Wow, everything is actually a lot cheaper than I expected! Even though I'm mostly a studded builder, I'll be stocking up on dogbone frames, 3L axle pins, 5L stop axles, and suspension parts. The price for the linkage is ridiculous though, that's odd. Quote
D3K Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Agreed regarding the linkage price.. I also can't think of very many situations where two 3L thin liftarms and a couple of axle pins won't do the same job as the new linkage! Quote
Junpei Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Same here. Just seems like a total waste, I don't get it. Quote
Hrafn Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Agreed regarding the linkage price.. I also can't think of very many situations where two 3L thin liftarms and a couple of axle pins won't do the same job as the new linkage! I agree. Maybe the new part was designed to solve some other problem that couldn't be solved with existing parts, and then they used the part in the snowmobile because it was available? Maybe we'll see the part in a 2H 2014 model in a context where it makes more sense. Quote
Shaw Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 They should scale up the twin rotor helicopter (read Chinook). Give it power function rotors, winch and ramp. Also perhaps power function cargo hooks on the bottom fuselage. The real Chinook has three. Quote
Meatman Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 I'd wager it's for a new supercar. What do you think it may be used for? Quote
Leewan Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 (edited) With its light blue panels and the flame stickers, the 42022 would be perfect for a mirthmobile (from Wayne's World) : Party on ! Edited December 9, 2013 by Leewan Quote
allanp Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Party on? That's Bill and Ted isn't it? Game on! Quote
Meatman Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Party on? That's Bill and Ted isn't it? Game on! No, that's Wayne and Garth. Quote
JGW3000 Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 (edited) I think Wayne and Garth would make a MOC of this vehicle - and not a bad idea for 2H2014, has some interesting PF, and the air compressor can simulate the flow of concrete through the tubing Edited December 9, 2013 by JGW3000 Quote
nicjasno Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 The new suspension links probably for a new suspension setup, the part with the 4 balljoints... i don't know. Quote
Paul Boratko Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 I already have a new chassis/suspension ready to go.. Just waiting on my parts order to replace the regular 5L liftarms in it with the new suspension arms and 5L axle with stop... Only bad thing is I built it to work with those crappy new hubs from the 42000... Quote

And yep, does look like a great model! An imaginative proposal too. Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Those angled legs would be a real pain to build,as much as it would be a great model I don't think we will see that kind of truck for a while. Quote
Gee Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 I don't know, stuff. Hahaha! That's my kind of answer! Mainly for the wife: "Gee, what are you up to?", "Huh, err, stuff..." This would be cool: Quote
MrTekneex Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 I hope instead in a garbage truck like this Quote
nicjasno Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 I'd love to see a tipper truck with suspension and realistic rear tandem axle. Quote
