Thirdwigg Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 From what I can tell, it looks like the ripper and blade lift function are done by a simple worm gear setup. On both, you can see a liftarm that connects to the function. Quote
Gee Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 I'd expect this to be more around the £35 mark, especially if the pick-up truck is going to be priced a bit higher. Quote
aol000xw Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Looking at the boxes the dozer is roughly a 42006 and the pickup closer to 42000 than to 42006. So closer to 50£ (dozer). and 75£ (Pickup) I think Quote
R0Sch Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 I wrote customer service about the mistake of the A25F hauler. Hopefully they will correct this pretty obvious screw-up. Either change the text and the technical info with the correct A25D / A25E on the box or even better make a 6x6 version B-model :P The latter would probably not come into question because of the extra 2 wheels and tires needed. davidmull Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Now that we all got that off our chest lets get back to the main beast this year 42030 can't wait :) Quote
D3K Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Now that we all got that off our chest lets get back to the main beast this year 42030 can't wait :) There is a dedicated topic, go nuts! This topic is precisely for discussing things like this Quote
NevynPA Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Poor mans 8275 Will do for the parts bin. Some of us ARE poor men! I'd love a larger sized yet less expensive bulldozer. Quote
allanp Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Bulldozers don't always look that great in real life anyway, they aren't meant to, so I'm personally not bothered by it's poor looks. Still it looks to be very boring functionally. Quote
Junpei Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 I don't mind the looks- it's not half bad. But the functions... TLH Quote

Still it looks to be very boring functionally. Well, they are 'beasts' for sure ... Lots of power, several functions, and NOT hollow ... Worked on several last year, and got a lot more respect for them ... Especially the drivetrain, dual hydrostatic loops, with 3 pumps, 2 for the left/right tracks, one for the implements, and blades with 4 degrees of freedom. Would be neat to reproduce the drivetrain and the blade functions but one would need pneumatic motors and planetary gears for the final drives ... Edited February 7, 2014 by DrJB Quote

Would be neat to reproduce the drivetrain and the blade functions but one would need pneumatic motors and planetary gears for the final drives ... Now THAT WOULD BE EPIC! I'de be the first in line to buy that and suggest it here if I thought it was possible to make pneumatic motors small and efficient enough to work in a lego set. Sadly I'm not sure that it is. Though I would love to see some planetary gear reduction drives made possible without using turn tables. Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 (edited) We have a video from the technic team showing the 1st half technic sets. Edited February 14, 2014 by Alasdair Ryan Quote
MrTekneex Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Niice video! At First I wasn't hit about the "1H sets", but slowly I change my mind. Cargoplane: you will be mine! Quote
davidmull Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 I'd like to see a better video of the 2h sets too. Quote
JunkstyleGio Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 @ Davidmull: Just wait a half year and you will get a lot of video's of the 2h models. Quote
jantjeuh Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Here's finally a decent pic of 42028: Quote
eiker86 Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 I have three H2 sets here in LW. I will see tomorrow if I could get a closer look at them. Quote
OzBen Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 (edited) Here's finally a decent pic of 42028: http://i.imgur.com/ZrSsZ1L.png I like it, it looks like 8275's little brother :-D Calling dokludi....... lol Edited February 15, 2014 by legolijntje Please don't qoute images Quote
GoldVillage Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 wow that bulldozer looks stunning! just perfect size ;) wondering what the alternate model will be... my best guess is a excavator or a mini version of the 42006 Quote
DrJB Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 (edited) Here's finally a decent pic of 42028: That explains why 8275's prices have sky-rocketed in recent weeks ... Before the holidays, you could get one off ebay for a tad over $200 ... Now, starting bids are at $300+ Edited February 15, 2014 by Blakbird : Removed quoted image. Quote
jorgeopesi Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 A lot of great details for a small caterpillar D11 (small cabin), great set . Quote
EyesOnly Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Thanks for the picture. Now i can say with certainty that 42028 isn't for me. It wont even work as a part pack since it doesn't offer anything new. I'm still looking forward to the B-model, just to see what they come up with. Also if those yellow panels are 5x11 then it will provide more supply for the secondary market which is always a good thing. Quote
Teo LEGO Technic Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Finally LEGO has started making the red plates again! They're out of stock at LEGO, and Brick link sells them for 15$ apiece. Quote
Zerobricks Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 IMO this would be a perfect small pneumatic model... Quote
Interceptor Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 (edited) IMO this would be a perfect small pneumatic model... Totally agree, another missed opportunity. I will skip this one and buy the Volvo this year only. Thank you LEGO for sparing some money. Edited February 15, 2014 by Interceptor Quote
