Gilbert Despathens Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 (edited) Would anyone care to attempt to tech me the basics of panel rockwork? Or just post a shot of the inside workings? Try this group on MOCpages: The Rockwork Club A pioneer of panel rockwork is a TFOL I know called Halhi 141. He's on the staff of that group and he also posted a general overview of his techniques here: Rockwork Guide I don't have a lot of dark grey angle plates or wedge-shaped bricks, so I don't have a lot of experience with this, but Halhi uses some basic materials. MikeyB Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 The new mixel joints might allow you to get some funky angles- at least I've seen it done with ball joints before. I´ve seen them as well! Have to buy some of them for that purpose!! :) the new Chima legend beast have a good number of them as well. the lion legend beast has nine of them plus a good assortment of tan pieces. Quote
de Gothia Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 Just bought the Lion beast! Now I have to start building some rocks then! ;) What´s up with flickr?! Can´t use it in my phone, they want me to download the app?!! And in my computer they want me to show my email (no thanks!) or create a new yahoo account (where deGothia is occupied! :() Stupid flickr! Quote

And in my computer they want me to show my email (no thanks!) or create a new yahoo account (where deGothia is occupied! :() Stupid flickr! I've been having the same sort of trouble - though I was able to hit a little x in the corner where Flickr wants me to download the app, but it does want me to create a yahoo account (which I'm not going to do). So far I've had no trouble signing in, maybe they won't make the switch, but I am not too optimistic. I considered switching to ipernity, but that doesn't allow access to the BBCode, HTML, or even just the simple URL (the one that you can inclose in brackets with the letters img), without a paid account. I'll probably (if forced to by Flickr) use it, but will have to also upload my photos somewhere else that will allow me to post them here. Quote

krono111 Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Hey guys I want to join Avalonia so here's my Task II entry. My Sigfig is poor and get his food through hunting in the woods. In his little pocket there's food. He don't have any friends just his dog which always follows him wherever he goes. The dog carry some arrows for him. What he likes most is to hunt and travel. Weapon of choice: Bow Task 1 coming soon (I think tomorrow). Sorry the sentences are not the best. I'm still learning to build better english sentences but the grammar should be correct. Quote
Simon_S Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Hey Krono! Welcome to the GoH. Also it's good to see more outdoor photography ;-). Quote
-Carson Haupt- Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 (edited) It seems like he's walking on a tree carved with ancient runes. Elvish maybe? Edited April 28, 2014 by -Carson Haupt- Quote
krono111 Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 (edited) Hey guys Thank you for your feedback, I really appreciate it. I'm not sure if they are elvish Carson but it could be ^^. I haven't seen elves yet. Here's my task I entry. As Buurli suggested there's some more outdoor photography. Closeup from the army: There are two axemen, two leaders and some melee fighters. It`s a pity that you can`t see every melee fighter. Closeup from the archers: I'll replace the two helmets with hoods when I buy another mirkwood elves set. The legs will also be replaced with the ones from the mirkwood elves set. Task III is coming soon. I hope I can do that with the map, it seems to be difficult. Should I post Task III in it's own thread and in this thread a link to the thread? What should the thread title be? Edited April 29, 2014 by krono111 Quote
HammerBro Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Welcome, Krono! I really like these outdoor pictures as well, keep it up! Quote
mpoh98 Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Welcome Krono, to Avalonia! :) I like the outdoor photography. :) Quote
de Gothia Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Most welcome Krono! I love the outdoor photos! Makes it feel so alive! Quote
Bregir Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Regarding task three, I did like this: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=94386#entry1871416 Love your photos and stories, btw! :) Quote
krono111 Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Hey guys Thank you another time for your great feedback :3 Also thank you for the nice welcome :-) So my Task III claim. Mine is the one with the yellow line: It wasn't really difficult to make the yellow line. About my land: name: Tinyone On the bigger island there's a castle, a town near of the castle, some farms and a iron mine. The name of the town is Castladium (will mention this also in Task IV) On the tiny one (that's where the name of my land comes from :D) there's ̶a̶̶ ̶̶v̶̶i̶̶l̶̶l̶̶a̶̶g̶̶e̶̶ ̶̶w̶̶i̶̶t̶̶h̶̶ ̶̶a̶̶ ̶̶n̶̶a̶̶u̶̶t̶̶i̶̶c̶̶a̶̶l̶̶ ̶̶b̶̶u̶̶i̶̶l̶̶d̶̶i̶̶n̶̶g̶ a port but most of the island is covered from woods. In these woods there's a lumber mill and maybe even some elves. The name of the port is Overboard. (will mention it another time) I will picture my land more in Task IV and in my freebuilds (castle, port, town...). I already began a month ago with the first building for Task IV but I will need another month or two because this project is bigger than what I've ever done before. I can carry on tomorrow because I just finished my sorting today (switching from the colour method to the type method). I'm so excited! (I have holydays so I'll make fast progress and than I'll order some new ̶l̶̶e̶̶g̶̶o̶̶s̶ bricks) It's interesting that ZCerberus not wrote something that I chose the false guild and that they have the best pie or something like that. @rogueang Please post task IV in the front post for the new members because I read the hole thread and I don't think every new person do that ^^. Wow this text got long! So bye guys. You'll see me in Task IV or in a freebuild. Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 @krono, you didn't join the best guild, but we'll save you some pie. Quote
TheUtilityBelt Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 I agree with Vladivus about not joining the best guild, but not the guild he's refering to. ;) Quote
Rogue Angel Posted May 1, 2014 Author Posted May 1, 2014 Welcome Bregir and Krono - great job on getting task entries in so quickly! Krono - As Task IV is not Avalonia-specific, it has it's own topic outside of the Avalonia thread. I will throw in a link to it though when I update the first page. Avalonians - get your side picked in the Challenge II thread. Teams will be assigned shortly, and I'd like to have an accurate headcount before dividing up the other guild members. I'm really hoping we can get a good turnout for this Challenge as it is being held in our lands. I will have other updates up shortly as well. Quote
kabel Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 @krono: I really like those pics taken on the rock, looks very err, Mitgardian I'd say!! Quote
