-Carson Haupt- Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Ehh, I have one... I'm not sure I like it however, and might be rebuilding it. Quote
Hammerhand Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 I've got a ship mostly done. Now I just need to add a harbor so it can count for the Settlement Task! Quote
HammerBro Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 I made some good headway on the dock scene for my ferry. I was playing around with offsets on the dock itself and I like how it turned out. The finished build should be up in about a week's time. I also have a huge base finished for a slew of shops and labor related buildings that I'll be doing go get Settlement credits. But I have no idea when I'll get around to actually building those. Quote
-Carson Haupt- Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I'm trying to decide if I should stay fleshie or convert to yellow. On one hand, I like the fleshier because they work better in more serious builds, but don't work with a lot of the great torsos designed for yellows. On the other hand, the yellows fell much a lot more playful, and have cheaper/more varied parts. Thoughts? Quote
Rogue Angel Posted March 2, 2014 Author Posted March 2, 2014 I stayed with Yellows as long as I could because of selection. I've had to switch over in Star Wars since it is a licensed theme and everything new is fleshie. I have also had to use fleshies for my Elves since LotR is also licensed, and that's where I get the majority of my Elf heads from. It has created a bit of an annoyance for me since some of my Elves are fleshie and some are yellow. The rest of my Historicans are all yellow though. The CMF's being Yellow is a huge factor in being able to keep my Historic figures Yellow. Quote
gedren_y Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I have no problem with using both. All Lego skin tones exist in Historica. I depict the Nestlands Clans in light flesh, but have used other colors to represent other peoples. I just avoid using mismatched torsos and heads. With certain neckwear, though, you can get around that. Quote

There are only a couple of options for tones other than yellow or fleshie. I just wish that yellow and flesh didn't clash so badly. Quote

I don't have a problem with different "ethnicities" in my Lego world. I just wish that other flesh tones were more prominent in Lego. There are only a couple of options for tones other than yellow or fleshie. I just wish that yellow and flesh didn't clash so badly. Especially figs of darker skin color! There are like 6 black heads and 2 heads that could be used for Indians! (actual sub-continent Indians.) Quote
Wedge09 Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 How are you Avalonians doing? Any mocs in the pipe? I have a MOC ready to publish for the Historican Settlements, I think tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, and another one in building mostly done, I predict it will be ready for the next week. Quote
de Gothia Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 (edited) I use only yellow heads. I guess from the beginning the thought of yellow heads was so no one could feel discriminated... If someone come from Avalonia, Mitgardia or Kaliphlin they are all yellow for me but in my thought they are different! Sounds like we Avalonians are getting started then! Great work guildsmates! I have started my blacksmith today! Yay me! Edited March 2, 2014 by de Gothia Quote
kabel Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I only use yellow for the sheer reason that I don't like LEGO's licensed policy, in which all ceativity is flowing only to these sets whereas the rest gets the old long trodden paths. The current castle line seems to examplify that to an extreme. At the same time however, the licensed sets usually cost way more than the usual ones, so I don't buy them until they are on sale. Which in turn leaves me to the problem that I now have some 50 or so fleshy heads that only gather dust ... Quote
de Gothia Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Kabel: I had the same problem with my fleshies! I found an online friend who traded them for yellow ones!:) you must have someone in your lug who wants fleshies?! :) Quote
kabel Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 problems is, I don't have a lug ... so does your friend need some more heads, hands and a few torsos? Quote
de Gothia Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I can always hear with him! See what he has for you as well!:) Quote
Simon_S Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 @Kabel: I'm always open to trade fleshy stuff for yellow, because I recently switched. I already got SK's . So if you're interested in a trade, shoot me a PM. Quote
de Gothia Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Thats great Simon! To bad you are joining the dark side! I mean fleshie side!;) Quote
Simon_S Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Haha, I never was sure to which side I should go. Recently I bought a lot of licenced sets (which were on sale)... then I wanted to sell the minifigs to get some money back, but they were so awesome that I decided to keep some of them and to start collecting mainly fleshies. (I anyhow only have a few figs as I sell the most). Quote
-Carson Haupt- Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I think I'll stick with fleshier for now then. Quote
HammerBro Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 I got sucked into fleashies because of the elf heads for my sigfig. Now I use all fleshies just to be consistent and I'm finding a shortage of female flesh heads. Quote
MKJoshA Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 I've been thinking about trying to trade off some of my flesh heads and hands as well. If anyone else wants to trade for some of my fleshies you can message me. And Simon, I'll be shooting you a message in the next few days just in case dG's aren't enough for you. Quote

narbilu Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 How are you Avalonians doing? Any mocs in the pipe? Last weekend I started making the scenery for the new Hemresa Town of Bow's Arch. The landscaping is almost finished. So far it's 150 x 80 studs. Now I'm hoping that I have enough plates in the right colour to make it big enough for the plans of my scetches. I hope to make it about 200 x 100 studs. The next couple of days I actually have some spare time to finish the base. ... Nice challange Rogueang, so I have an asignment next to Bow's Arch. Let's see if it will fit in my planning. Quote
mpoh98 Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Great challenge! Will definitely make something for that! How are you Avalonians doing? Any mocs in the pipe? I just got started on the Great Tower for Albion! Should come later this month. Quote
narbilu Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 (edited) The base for Bow's Arch is ready, it turned out to be 155 x 84 studs. Now only to add some foilage, rocks and trees: I also added my story for Challenge II - Prologue The band of Robin' Rascal Edited March 4, 2014 by narbilu Quote
