mpoh98 Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Oh, so that is what the Drow are supposed to look like, awesome rogueang! I need to start getting some bricklink orders for those parts... Quote
HammerBro Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 (edited) I used the darth maul head for the one time that I did a drow fig, but I think that the plain black works better. Would certainly make use of the excess parts for stormtrooper heads! Edited March 20, 2014 by HammerBro33 Quote

Well, I don't think they all have to look like that, that could just be one faction or just one artist's last scribbles before he was found... Quote
Rogue Angel Posted March 20, 2014 Author Posted March 20, 2014 Drow are from Dungeons and Dragons' "Forgotten Realms" Campaign Setting. Here are a couple of famous Drow: and some generic Drow They also have enslaved Dwarves, called Duergar, who are also evil Quote
SkaForHire Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Makes me wish I still had a good gaming group.... I miss D&D I am glad they made it to the number one bad guys in one of these challenges. Quote
kabel Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 I actually know the drow form baldurs gate II, great game then ... Quote
Rogue Angel Posted March 21, 2014 Author Posted March 21, 2014 Oh, Baldur's Gate...One of my favorite games ever. Quote
gedren_y Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Ah, Drizzt Do'urden. I can still remember picking up a first ed. of The Crystal Shard. That book got me into Forgotten Realms, and cemented my interest in fantasy realms. It's why I'm here today. Quote
SkaForHire Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 At the turn of the century (ok, just fun to say that now) we spent months playing BGII in my basement on a LAN network... Great game, always fun to save and then try to roll the townspeople! haha. I bought the enhanced edition a few months back, and sadly, I just could not get into it again. Quote
-Carson Haupt- Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Okay, so I'm reworking the figurehead, what do you guys think? Also, any name suggestions for the ship? Quote
TheUtilityBelt Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 It looks good, and for the name The Avalonian Unicorn! Quote
Rogue Angel Posted March 22, 2014 Author Posted March 22, 2014 Avalonian ships should have names like Avalonian Unicorn, not things like A.M.S. Bearded Maiden, like those Mitgardians. Avalonia does have a fleet, but it is composed of ships from different Lords, not a standing Militant Navy. Quote
gedren_y Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 The Hopeful Endeavor would be a good name. Quote
HammerBro Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Wow, that looks great! I like this figurehead over the one you had before. I think the slope of the previous one was a bit much. And the wings make a nice transition to the railings. Quote

And the wings make a nice transition to the railings. Thanks! I agree. That unicorn is awesome! Love it!! Thanks! The Hopeful Endeavor would be a good name. That's an awesome name. In old English, it would be hyhtllo anginn, which is pretty cool too. Avalonian ships should have names like Avalonian Unicorn, not things like A.M.S. Bearded Maiden, like those Mitgardians. TheUtilityBelt Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 On a game I once played, there was a pirate ship called the Dainty Sload. Pretty weird, right? Quote
narbilu Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 I think Unicorn covers it nicely... and your sigfig looks awesome. Don't change a bit. Quote
HammerBro Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 Just posted my Dark Times build. Had to get all the council member figs put back together. Quote
narbilu Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 I also posted my Dark Times challenge... Used all morning to figure out The best way to make drow figures. Will post the enemies army later. Computer is taken :) Quote

narbilu Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Hej all, I used all sunday morning to create a Drow army, it was a battle by itself. The heads and hair style was pretty easy in my oppinion. But should they wear black, or is a different darktoned colour accepable. So this is my interpretation of the Drow entering our lands: The Drow Mage commander Footmen Archers Cavalry Guards And the Drueggar Quote
mpoh98 Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Sweet Drow narbilu, my favorite has to be your Drueggar, those are sweet! Quote
