Gilbert Despathens Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 (edited) First Task - The Garrison and Protectors of Iremons These bowmen (and women) wear a more typical Avalonian dark green. They aren't the best archers I've ever made, but they work. The common infantry, on the other hand, use a mixture of wool, furs, leather, plate and mail. Some of their styles are influenced by their nearby neighbors, the Mitgardians, but where the rest came from is anyone's guess - Valyrio, maybe? Edited April 8, 2014 by Gilbert Despathens Quote
robuko Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Gilbert, the girl in that link is totally amazing! Quote
qiadris Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 I like that you've included Mitgardian influence for common troops. These bowmen (and women) wear a more typical Avalonian dark green. They aren't the best archers I've ever made, but they work. So much win Quote
narbilu Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 To the Lords of Avalonia, I am just wondering, when the challenge of Book II will continue. The drow are marching our way and battlefields will spring out of nowhere soon. Regards, Narb Quote

-Carson Haupt- Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Would anyone care to attempt to tech me the basics of panel rockwork? Or just post a shot of the inside workings? Quote
HammerBro Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Thanks to you both. And Carson, could explain what you mean a bit more? Is this like it? Quote
-Carson Haupt- Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 First off, wow. And second, no it's more like this: http://cache.lego.com/media/nxtlog/fb1672d1-80b2-4311-bd1a-57842c914084/800x600/GalleryFile.jpg http://www.mocpages.com/image_zoom.php?mocid=377328&id=/user_images/84200/1388102623m Those aren't really the examples I was planning on, but I can't seem to find the one I want. I'm looking for more of a boulder type rock than a cliff face. Quote
Simon_S Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 I don't think you can build such rocks with a specific technique someone else made before. Just try the angles out until you are happy with them... and with the time, every rock gets better ;-) Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 The new mixel joints might allow you to get some funky angles- at least I've seen it done with ball joints before. Quote
de Gothia Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 The new mixel joints might allow you to get some funky angles- at least I've seen it done with ball joints before. I´ve seen them as well! Have to buy some of them for that purpose!! :) Have all Avalonians picked their side in the CH yet? Quote
HammerBro Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Did you build that, HammerBro? No, its one of my finds on flickr. First off, wow. And second, no it's more like this: http://cache.lego.co...GalleryFile.jpg http://www.mocpages....200/1388102623m Those aren't really the examples I was planning on, but I can't seem to find the one I want. I'm looking for more of a boulder type rock than a cliff face. Ah, I see. Sorry, but I don't really know how to do that. I think that the best way to do it would just be playing around with it and trying different ways to recreate the style. DG, I've picked my side. Quote
Bregir Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Have all Avalonians picked their side in the CH yet? Just came back from easter holiday and is catching up with work and stuff. And then there is the important things in life... (GoH, obviously) - will pick side soon ! Quote
