Lord Vladivus Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 @Milo, "phase 1-3" is probably the Age of Mitgardia which is only open to Mitgardians. Quote
MiloNelsiano Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Ah, OK. That helps a lot, thank you. Quote
Bregir Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Hello, I'm not a big poster here on eurobricks, but have always been more of a lurker, at times even lurking in GoH. Several times now I have considered joining, but have not yet for several different reasons, especially being overwhelmed and confused by everthing (I still am quite a bit). Long story short, I've decided to give it a try, and have chosen Avalonia, as it seems to be most like my building style. I am currently waiting on a bricklink order so I can build an appropriate Avalonian banner. I will post a picture of my sigfig when that order arrives. In the meantime, I am hoping to clear up a few questions regarding tasks/free builds/Phase I-III builds. From what I've (quite possibly falsely) gathered, tasks 1, 2, 3, and 5 are posted in this discussion. Task 4 is posted in the General GoH area and then linked in the Task 4 discussion. Can everything that is not part of the main challenge may be registered in the free build discussion? How exactly do the Phase I-III builds work? Can they be the same as Task 4 builds? I'm pretty sure I found a discussion to post links to your Phase I-III builds once, but I haven't been able to find it again. I realize all of this is probably clearly written somewhere, but I'm having an awfully difficult time finding and understanding it all at once. Any Information you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Welcome to the most awesomenest, and magnificent Guild of them all! (Don't listen to talks of snow, sticky oil or pumpkin pies - the other Guilds will try to sweettalk you into their deceptive webs! ) You more or less got it right - anything that isn't a challenge entry of some sort is a freebuild, which means that any build related to any of the Avalonian tasks would potentially be a freebuild. You may post links to all builds(freebuilds or challenge entries) in this thread, but tasks 1 & 2 are normally just posted here, while entries for 3, 4, and 5 would normally have their own threads for feedback etc. Look at it this way: This thread is about any activity going on in Avalonia, which includes all your builds, questions, new members etc. Many members read the guild threads to find links to builds, rather than going through all topics in the forum, especially when time is limited. And Vladivius is right - I belive the phase I-III is a Mitgardian minichallenge like our tasks, and like tasks 1-3 and 5 it is a mitgardian exclusive. (But you can still take inspiration from it) Again, welcome - I will be looking forward to "meeting" your sigfig - and remember, there is no such thing as a silly question /Bregir Quote
MKJoshA Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Aaaahhhh (happy sigh). Back to the good old trash talk. It's been awhile since we've had a good round so let me just add that if you join Avalonia instead of the awesome Mitgardia, you should make sure your comfortable wearing tights and hugging trees Quote
Rolli Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 [...] you're comfortable wearing tights and hugging trees // Sir Moriartus is not amused at all.. He looks grumpy, his black beard is making waves and his eyes are flashing with determination.// "Guys.. We seriously have to work on our image! There has to be an advertising guild somewhere in Avalonia.. We need to paint some banners and shields and do some campaigning to take care of this discussion once and for all! I'm not the only one who doesn't wear tights but I love hugging my trees, give them some love! (Also they are great for tickling my beard :P) Any ideas? I'm opening a shop the next days, we need to get behind this! Our brains are neither frozen nor melted nor evaporated due to some necromancy going wrong so let's show the other guilds and newcomers alike how great we truly are!" (Finally some decent trash talk again - and I actually like the idea of the Avalonian advertising agency - does Tripple A sound good? A³? Input?) Quote
mrcp6d Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Didn't you flower-power folks ( ) run a postcards from Avalonia mini-challenge or something a while back? Quote
Rolli Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Didn't you flower-power folks ( ) run a postcards from Avalonia mini-challenge or something a while back? I thought that was initiated by some hotheaded sandman as a campaign for the dry and deserted Kaliphin? Quote
Jason Cicchini Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 My Task 3 Entry is up here. Planning to update it with a build list soon, so that it can also serve as my main HSS page. Quote
kabel Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Nice, trash talk between Mitgardia and Avalonia, fits my plans perfectly well, you tight wearing sissies! Quote
Bregir Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 (edited) Some things are simply to large and heavy to leave dangling freely! TIGHTS FOREVAH!!! ;) Edited September 3, 2014 by Bregir Quote
SarahJoy Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Some things are simply to large and heavy to leave dangling freely! TIGHTS FOREVAH!!! ;) If mere diaphanous tights can get that job done for Avalonians, well, good for you. Our objects in Kaliphlin are large enough that mere tights can't handle 'em. Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 A Nocturnians Crown Jewels are protected by a legion of undead warriors. Quote
Rolli Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Seriously? A legion of undead warriors? Talk about a compensation problem! Balls of steel don't need no protection! But they love tights. Avalonian tights! Quote

Lord Vladivus Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Seriously? A legion of undead warriors? Talk about a compensation problem! 7/8ths of the legion are just there to carry them. The other 1/8th are for protection- always be safe! Quote
MKJoshA Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 guys, stop it my midriff hurts! I'm with kabel! I can't stop laughing right now. Quote

Bregir Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 7/8ths of the legion are just there to carry them. The other 1/8th are for protection- always be safe! Your endless supply of slaves have rendered you weak and feeble! We mighty Avalonians carry our personals, however heavy, by our own strength! Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Your endless supply of slaves have rendered you weak and feeble! We mighty Avalonians carry our personals, however heavy, by our own strength! But flowers don't weigh that much do they? Quote
vitreolum Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 This is what Avalonians do to big bad Nocturnians. :) Quote
Maxim I Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Yawning in the morning? (nice scultpure btw :p ) Quote
vitreolum Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Yeah, wish I had a brown or gray bat... :)) Quote
MassEditor Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Man, the Avalonian supply chain is so weak that they've restored to eating bats? Must be a result of that tremendous stomping Nocty gave you guys in the GNAR contest! (cool Ozzy sculpture, in any case) Quote
Hammerhand Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 With all this talk of tights and... underthings, I'm starting to think there's gonna be a new mini-challenge soon.... Quote
Bregir Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Bats? No no, that is the head of some minor (aren't they all?..) Nocturnian lord. If it weren't for the foul taste of rotten swamp, it could become a delicatesse! Quote
