Lord Vladivus Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Bats? No no, that is the head of some minor (aren't they all?..) Nocturnian lord. If it weren't for the foul taste of rotten swamp, it could become a delicatesse! There are one or two of us that are more legen-wait-for-it-dary than you hippies. And eating each other is pretty much a hazard of life in Nocty, weeds out the weak. So you Avalonians would be gone in about as much time as it takes for an Ungolian to swallow. Quote
TheUtilityBelt Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 (edited) This is what Avalonians do to big bad Nocturnians. :) Since when did Avalonia go shirtless and gothic? Thought you guys were still focused on world peace or something. Edited September 3, 2014 by kabel please do not quote pictures Quote
-Carson Haupt- Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 (edited) I'm dying of laughter over here. I'm also thinking of scaling back my Task V project, just to get it done to have bricks for Challenge III Edited September 3, 2014 by -Carson Haupt- Quote
Bacon Potatoes Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 (edited) Greetings, Avalonians! I somewhat recently joined Eurobricks and thought that Guilds of Historica was cool, so I decided to join! Here's a picture of my sigfig. Lord Baconius of the great kingdom of Ambalar was wandering the many regions of the world since he was born. He grew up traveling with his parents, who were successful traders, on a merchant ship where he discovered the many cultures and nations of Historica. In his spare time on the ship, he also learned the useful skills of how to sail and how to fight. Later in life, he established his own trading business. He gained quite a profit from this venture, and used his funds to travel Historica learning about its history and many cultures. In his travels, he discovered a harbor that was plentiful in resources and decided to establish a trading post on the sight. This small post became a successful sea port for transporting Avalonian goods and grew rapidly into the kingdom known today as Ambalar. Once Ambalar had been successfully established, Lord Baconius decided to once again set out and travel the many realms of Historica. In his second round of travels, he acquired many artifacts of importance to him and brought them back to Amablar in order to establish a wealth of historical knowledge in the kingdom. It was at the time of his return that he noticed that a threat was growing in Avalonia and decided to establish an army that he pledged would fight for the great guild of Avalonia for as long as the kingdom stood. These brave soldiers rid the lands of Ambalar of evil as well as defend Avalonia from unwelcome invaders. And to keep up with the recent trend of guild trash talking, I would have chosen to join Nocturnus, but why would you want to live in a dirty, horrible-smelling swamp when you can live in the beautiful, luscious forests and isles of Avalonia? Seems like a simple choice. Edited September 3, 2014 by Bacon Potatoes Quote
TheUtilityBelt Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Welcome! But I have one question: If you've traveled to Kaliphlin, than why did you not realize it's the best guild and settle there? Quote
Bacon Potatoes Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 I guess I just don't like sand in all of my clothes/food/hair/papers. Quote
mrcp6d Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Our objects in Kaliphlin are large enough that mere tights can't handle 'em. Aaaaaaannnnnd Sarah just owned you guys. Educationally too--"diaphanous" is indeed a new vocab word. Quote
Bregir Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Welcome aboard, Lord Baconius, I trust our cooperation will be fruitful, and that many a trading post will be established to bring you wealth and prosperity! Aaaand, on the topic of trashtalk - We hug trees, because thats what we do! I can imagine Nocturnians or Kaliphlinites feel quite inadequate next to a proud, Avalonian oak, and not so much next to the twisted, lowly "trees" that barely grow on your barren lands... Quote
SarahJoy Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Aaaaaaannnnnd Sarah just owned you guys. Educationally too--"diaphanous" is indeed a new vocab word. One might say that y'all got schooled? (Someone keep me away from the bad pun machine!) Quote
Jakorin Swiftsword Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Here's my build for task two! Quote
Bregir Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 (edited) Looking lovely! Normally, a litte description of the retinue is included in task II entries, so we know who those cool figs are I really like the whole build, the figs, the base, the well and the photography - its just overall great! EDIT: Wake up, Bregir - You had that description in a separate entry! Edited September 4, 2014 by Bregir Quote
MiloNelsiano Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 I have another question I forgot to ask earlier. How exactly does one go about choosing land from Avalonia? Quote
LordDan Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Choose a reasonable chunk of land on the map that isn't already my claimed and use a photo editor to draw the borders of your small kingdom on the map. Quote
MiloNelsiano Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 (edited) Thanks. That's what I was afraid of. After marrying a mac lover, my computer skills have drastically gone down hill. However, I was able to manage in the end. I would like to name the blue highlighted area Oros. My sig fig introduction will hopefully come tomorrow, when I have decent enough lighting to take pictures. Edited September 4, 2014 by MiloNelsiano Quote
Rolli Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 (edited) I would like to name the blue highlighted area Oros. You set the picture to private over on flickr. Therefor we can't see it nor your claim. You might want to update that so you can officially claim your new home Works now, awesome! I'm still working on the new version of the map, it takes much longer than expected thanks to excessive building during the last weeks.. Edited September 4, 2014 by Rolli Quote
MiloNelsiano Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 I think after about 5 retries it should be viewable! Thanks Rolli. Quote
Bacon Potatoes Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 (edited) I'd like to add my kingdom, Ambalar, to the map as well! It might be a bit hard to notice, but it's the island in yellow in the upper left corner. Edited September 4, 2014 by Bacon Potatoes Quote
Jakorin Swiftsword Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 So players of any level can choose a small chunk of Avalonia to claim? Quote
robuko Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 So players of any level can choose a small chunk of Avalonia to claim? Avalonian players, yes although we will offer a good price for some bits Quote
Jakorin Swiftsword Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Avalonian players, yes although we will offer a good price for some bits Excellent! Good thing I'm Avalonian. :P I definitely want a spot by the sea. Better brush up on my editing skills. Quote
MiloNelsiano Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Here is Osric Farwind, son of Orys, and heir to the land of Oros. The Farwinds are a very humble family. Despite being Highborn Lords, they believe in working alongside the citizens of heir land rather than commanding them. The current Lord, Orys for example, works on the Family's farm. Osric has worked in the castle's blacksmith, smithing weapons and armour. Because of this, many other nobles look down at the Farwinds, calling them the Peasant Lords. The Farwinds' humble nature has also pevented them from keeping a family coat of arms or colors, as they believe them to be vain. More of their history will come in future builds. Their seat at Valley View Hall should be up tonight. C&C please! Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Welcome Osric! I extend greetings from Shadowmere! Quote
cesbrick Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 (edited) Most welcome, Osric and baconius to the greater Guild of Historica! Edited September 5, 2014 by cesbrick Quote
vitreolum Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 (edited) Welcome Baconius and Osric, looking forward to your builds. :) Also one quick question, can I start on Task 4 before I choose a map part? Edited September 5, 2014 by vitreolum Quote
