@ Carson If you want, Alexander could go to visit your realm! :classic:

I also want to warn that my construction speed will be seriously slowed down because from tomorrow I will be away from my lego 5 days out of 7!

Hi folks iv nearly completed the next part of my story and just want to check something before I finish the moc.

Iv built a site for a camp that im looking to evolve into a hamlet then maybe a village. The moc currently is about 100 studs at its widest and 75 at its depth. Heres a quick pic no editing done.

Do you think it will be big enough to add a small gatehouse with attached barracks, small veg farm, fishing hut and wharf, inn, a mason and a lumber mill with wharf.

Heres another pic

Should have also mentioned that thisis located in the bend of a river so some of the buildings will overhang this existing base

That looks very promising so far, but don't put that many buildings on it. You actually might be able to fit all of the mentionned in there, but then they'll be very small, it won't be possible to put them at an angle and the whole build looks way too crowded. So rather do only 3 or 4 houses and the gatehouse.

Hi,

looks excellent I've been wondering how many buildings you want to place there.

From my experience buildings and space is a trouble maker. Currently I am preparing some TASK 4 entry and it is very difficult to place an replace buildings in a city and make it not look to closely spaced.

I also agree with Simon. I had simular ideas with my last project and the houses turned out too small, with even less space for fine details. My base was 90 x 140 studs and still, with some scenery too small for more than 5 to 6 buildings.

My next project will have less buildings and probably even more space.

Apart from that... I think the base you made looks excellent!!!

Wow looks very promising. That base is very well done. Like others said, it's better to put few buildings and maybe more landscape, like trees, bushes, small lakes, etc.

Thanks for the feedback,

Im looking to add the minimum of buildings to have a hamlet on task 4. Im going to expand the base a little after your feedback. Then the first thing ill build is the fortifications/defences for the military part. It wont be flashy just a gate a wall and a tower/barracks. After that ill add a fishing hut/house with small wharf. Then see what space I have for what afterwards.

Ta folks

Its looking great, and I do enjoy your landscaping of what is shaping up to a brilliant result!

However, I just want to make sure you are aware that the buildings does not necessarily need to be in the same build, as long as they are referenced to the same location.

Its still cool to see multple buildings in one build, but it isn't strictly necessary. :classic:

Ta Bregir,

I Know they can be seperate but it should be cooler being altogether in one setting. Iv had a eureka moment, since this on the bend of a river I could also build on the other bank.

Cheers

Good - just wanted to be sure there was no misunderstanding :classic:

I am really looking forward to seeing more - as I said, its really promising so far!

Does anyone have any idea when the Mount Up! entries will be judged?

I have been wondering the exact same thing - Really looking forward for the results!

Just as long as the build complies with the requirements, can the task builds be part of my character's storyline?

I see no reason why - In fact I am pretty sure it would be encouraged! :sweet:

Before I Forget, here is my Task 1 entry:

Looking real good - Brick on!

The smithy I've been working on is nearing completion. Once my latest bricklink order arrives, I think I'll be able to finish it. The building structure itself is a little plain, but I think the interior is nice, as will the yard with all the equipment and Tools (I hope). Anyway I've been wanting to do some kind of collaboration with someone, so I thought it might be interesting, since my sigfig works in the smithy, if he worked on a commissioned sword that someone else's sigfig ordered, as a way to show off the build. Anyone interested?

That blacksmiths shop looks great! Can't wait to see it in more detail!

It's nice to see a building that isn't worn and falling apart.

Haha, I guess I should take my time before finishing my extreemly worn and crumbling castle.

I love the slate roof! It's nice to see a building that isn't worn and falling apart. Cassius would be honored to have a sword forged, if you're interested.

Sounds good. I'll bring it to your (wedding?) event at your castle!
