soccerkid6 Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 Welcome! Also, I have a question. I plan on trying to enter the CCC this year, and was wondering if there were any restrictions on using those entries as builds for the guilds. Since there's always a "Castle" category, I was specifically wondering about using that as my Task V. Do you guys know if that would disqualify it from either competition/task? It's perfectly fine to use a build for both. For a build to qualify for the CCC it just can't have been revealed online or in public before November (not even WIP pictures), and meet the specific category requirements. Quote
Petric_G Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 (edited) Welcome Petricel! That is a very interesting sigfig. Not like anything I have seen before - very innovative use of that backpack piece. He rather stands out in this bunch of armoured knights! :) Happy to have you on board! Welcome to GoH Petricel! Awesome sigfig! Thanks for your welcome! Yes, I don't like it too armoured. I'm peaceful, but I can fight if necessary. Therefore just ask when you need my help! So now I have to look arround and finde my place in Avalonia! Edited October 28, 2014 by Petric_G Quote

Well that could possible be a problem. What if I had posted Wip shots, but then took it apart and rebuilt it differently but with the same idea? Quote

Pretty sure that would be fine, though you could check with staff over at Classic-Castle to make sure Quote

Hammerhand Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 What's going on fellow Avalonians? It's been pretty quite here lately other than DG's build... I myself have been kind of swamped with other life stuff, haven't had hardly any building time, and I haven't really been keeping up with things in GoH. It seems like I kind of get busy, and don't post for a while, and then I come back for a few days, and then I get busy again... Sigh... Quote
cablefoxley Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Iv got two mocs in the works. But due to the fact I work in the bar trade, which is getting busier and busier (thanks to xmas coming). Im really short on time to build, but hope to get these two done. Iv got one for the current men v dwarves and one for somewhere for me to live. Need to get some mocing done next week as iv got two days off in a row, yay. Quote

Jakorin Swiftsword Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 What's everyone's opinion on me switching to yellow instead of fleshie? I'm leaning more and more towards it all the time for some reason. Quote
mrcp6d Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 I work in the bar trade, "bar" as in law, or "bar" as in beer? What's everyone's opinion on me switching to yellow instead of fleshie? I'm leaning more and more towards it all the time for some reason. I've never been a fleshie person, so I think it's a fantastic idea! I do think you lose some "expressiveness" options with the yellow heads though. Quote
SarahJoy Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 What's everyone's opinion on me switching to yellow instead of fleshie? I'm leaning more and more towards it all the time for some reason. The fleshie vs. yellow argument will never end. I'm a yellow person myself -- I've recently bought a few fleshy figs that I "fixed" -- but I'm not rabid about it. Fleshy people will replace yellow heads, and vice-versa. Use the heads/hands that please you. Quote
MiloNelsiano Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 I like fleshie figures because I generally build with mostly earth tones and neutral colors. I just don't use too many bright colors in my mocs. However the appeal to yellow is always there as there are way more faces and expressions available. My pirate mocs currently all use yellow because I was much better able to depict the characters I wanted with my yellow faces. I haven't really messed with my pirate stuff in over a year though. Disco86 Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Paul von Brickenstein finally joins Avalonia He is living in harmony with the elves on an island called "Lonaengwîn" (Isle of wine). The whole island is controlled by elves, except of an small harbor village, named Brickenstein. Quote

Disco86 Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Just a quick question, I already built and posted my elven vineyard yesterday, is there any chance to include it in the world of Avalonia ? Would fit my island perfectly :) Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Damn, welcome Disco, I think the rest of us guilds need to step out game up! Quote

JaseTJ Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 (edited) Jason of Allerdale, at your service! Jason's home of Allerdale is comprised mostly of workers. Your neighbors are more than likely to be farmers or craftsmen if you live there. Even as their humble leader, Jason is skilled with woodcarving, crafting the sturdiest tools and finest trinkets around. ((I'm not sure if it's an issue to have several pictures, so I'll spoiler-tag the other two, along with some more information.) But of course, for everything there is a season... and that includes war. Jason is not the most skilled fighter, but he's smart enough to have survived his battles. Though at one point he spent five years wandering the Guilds, he came back when his homeland needed him, and has fought proudly for Avalonia since. He also finally settled down... His wife, Lillian, is the daughter of the previous ruler of Allerdale. She did not wish to rule herself, so he married her and took the role. And finally, Allerdale itself is highlighted in yellow. The convergence of the twin rivers is home to Jason himself, along with the small town that serves as the capitol of the region. All along the rivers, many have made use of the hyro-power for various mills to provide for their families. ((Also, excuse the phone pictures. I'll post better a better picture of Jason eventually, preferably with some sort of MOC as a background- I just wanted to join the guild already! :) )) Edited November 15, 2014 by JaseTJ Quote
cablefoxley Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 "bar" as in law, or "bar" as in beer? Bar as in beer yeah. But were an upmarket bar and restaurant, so it s more cocktails and wine than beer. Just got in from there and its starting to get a little nuts. Roll on january when I can put me feetup. Quote
