PenPlays Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 (edited) I have officially decided which Guild I shall join for Book 2, and in doing so, I hope to encourage users to join the other Guilds as well. You can find my proclamation and Guild assessments here. Let me know if Avalonia is well represented. Edited September 22, 2013 by Penkid11 Quote
HammerBro Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 Here is my entry for the army challenge. First off, The Woodland Guard. They are a militia of men that protect and watch over the woods of Vanhorn. The Grand Army of Vanhorn Infantry Archers Calvary I could've done many more figs, but I wanted to make them uniform and not have any non-Avalonia colors. C&C welcome Quote
Kayne Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 You just can't use megabloks. Why has every thread turned into a hardcore Nocturnus commercial? I feel like we are watching TV and these Nocturnus ads are like the Michigan commercials with Jeff Daniels or the governor that always come on during every commercial break, in which they beg businesses to move to the state. Is Nocturnus the Michigan of Historica? Does that make the spire Detroit? Do they have cars? and a good hockey team? ---- I think Kaliphlin has proved it walked the walk. With third smallest membership for most of the original book, we held our own. That's funny. I'm in Michigan and see those all the time, and always thought we only played them here which would make no sense. Now I know that we annoy everyone! Quote
Rogue Angel Posted September 23, 2013 Author Posted September 23, 2013 HammerBro33 - Great troops! This was exactly what was wanted for this task, and you did well incorporating the guild colors. One question: are the lone dragons in the archers and infantry the commanders or something else? Quote
narbilu Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 (edited) Back at Hemresa south gate, I discovered that the walls that I was supposed to protect were raided by savages and a new regime raised their flag above the gate. As I approach only to be shot at and be driven back into the forest. Strolling past the wall, out of sight of the guards walking on top, I engage a small fight on the western wing. A small legion of swordsmen and archers try to break through the barricade and open up trade routes to the north again. My sword buries itself in the skull of a savage, just in time to save one of the soldiers. He looks over his shoulder and nods thankfully. After a harsh match, the continues flow of savages seem to stop and we are victorious. The leader of the legion, takes of his helmet and greets me. When I take of my hood, he falls into my arms as he recognises me as his lord. Nar Bilu of Hemresa. Before I knew it, the rebuild of my army started. Together we make a plan to recapture the fortification, but we need some skilled men to support us. Our conclusion is that heading back to the capitol for re-enforcements will take too long. A settlement of elves is only half a day away on one of the northern Mystic Isles. The elven lord acknowledges the need to liberate the trade routes and remembers the positive influence Nar Bilu had on Hemresa. He grants us five fine swordsmen. As we leave the settlement a female elf approaches me and offers her services to us. With great bravery the stout group of my legion heads back to the wall to scout the area. I draw a schematic of the fortification on a pieces of paper and made strategic plans with my right hand man. The encampment we build seem to attract a lot of attention from people hiding in these forests. Before the meeting and planning is over, two half elf hunters in robes and two lost but well armed dwarves joined our legion and pledged their loyalty to our cause. After a good night sleep we would enter a secret entrance at dawn. A glimpse of the sun was visible at the horizon. Horses were fed, swords were polished and quivers were restocked. We are ready to recapture our home. A bright greenish light blinded everyone. When the green fog slowly faded from our eyesight a man with a white beard stood before us. He just stood there. Bowing and begging me to take him into our army, freeing this region of the savage menace. I concur and welcome our, for now, last member of the Hemresa Legion! The story continues Edited December 31, 2013 by narbilu Quote
Rogue Angel Posted September 23, 2013 Author Posted September 23, 2013 Beautiful figs Narbilu! I really like the way you incorporated all the LotR pieces, and the way you used the standard dragon torso/shield but still made the troops very unique. The story is excellent as well - I can't wait to see the battle to uproot the savages...? Quote
Kerntechniker Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Dear Brothers and Sisters in arms, I really like the field day started in our Guild! Quote
PenPlays Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Having shown you all The Ring in my most recent MOC, I'm sure it's evident that not all of them are Avalonian but gladly serve under the Guild. If they wear the same garbs but wield Dragon Shields, can they be considered for my armies? I'm very low on men at the moment (Z, you and the Black Spire heard nothing!) but I would really like to join in on this mini-challenge of sorts. This would be my (sort of) compromise. Quote
HammerBro Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 HammerBro33 - Great troops! This was exactly what was wanted for this task, and you did well incorporating the guild colors. One question: are the lone dragons in the archers and infantry the commanders or something else? Oh yes. I forgot to mention that each division had a captain that was dressed in the dragon torso and a helmet with a different coloring pattern. I was a little rushed when I posted them. Quote
mpoh98 Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Fantastic figs Narbilu! They look great! Quote

Quite the contrary is true! Our forests are much more ragged and wild in comparison to the mere parks they have in Avalonia. Anyway, fare well all you outh breakers, Mitgardia is the country of men, not of pansies! Quote
