Hello!

After quite some time, I'm building Legos again. I intend to replicate some of the steam engines from late 19th and early 20th century. I'm starting with steam tractor, or sometimes called Locomobil (or Lokomobila), which I designed in LDD first. I built it as close to real thing as possible, but also added my own ideas. Let's go to the pictures:

There are approx. 900 bricks in this moc...

That's it, for now :)

Nice model. I like all the details and how real it looks. If i see correctly then there is a chain that goes from the front wheels to a winch like thing under the vehicle but it doesn't look like it can move.

:thumbup: So not really Technic (more Model Team / Creator?) but a very nice MOC :classic:

This is the Model Team forum :wink:

Quite nice MOC. I had the pleasure of riding a .. something like that a few years ago

Thank you all for the nice comments!

@Nazgarot

No, the steering isn't functional (beside fixed axles, the chain would have to be differently placed in order to be ), but it's built as it was on these machines (well, quite close to it)…

And here is the picture of the actual trailer, which was my inspiration:

@TwentyLeggedHen

I didn't exactly replicated the trailer, but added some things of my own. Things that I thought that would make it better. For example, back of the trailer is my design and roof is a bit different too, as you noticed…

For anyone interested in other MOCs like this, I made a similar (but bigger) steam vehicle about 3 years ago. You can see it here. I did post this on the forum when I first made it , but cannot find the thread any longer. I still have most of it built (getting a bit dusty now), but have taken the roof apart to use for other projects. The original idea was to make it run from the pneumatics, using compressed air, but it needs far to much power for that. I may rebuild it now with electric motor(s) and simpler pneumatics to simulate the original pistons etc.

It's huge! Just before checking the pictures on the link you provided I thought how big it could be, as motorcycle tyres are already bigest in Technic. The result - wonderfull wheel design!
